Oh wow how come u get the camera frame the back is glass instead of aluminium u add camera frame Protector? It look even more like iPhone which the camera frame is glass
I have enjoyed watching all of your videos on the S22 series phones, Nick. I agree with you that the thing that is hindering the S22 base model is the battery life, but other than this, the S22 is a rock solid phone that delivers a great display, has a great camera set up, and with the Samsung ecosystem this phone integrates well with the other Samsung products. All in all Samsung has come a long way with its smartphones. Can't wait to see your reviews of the Samsung S8 series tablets and how they stack up with the Apple IPad's line up
I bought the standard S22 back in early March and I love it! I have to say that I agree that the battery is just OK, but I get a full day out of it without too much trouble! Of course I'm not a heavy user and rarely go over 4 hour SOT!
Thanks, info is useful! Ive one on order and have a moto g6 with a 300mAH battery...so this is better regardless! Even cheaper with my sons students beans account! A lot of £ off!
I like compact phones. I have the iPhone 12 Mini 256gb which is a little too Mini screenwise. But, I know how to optimize battery and storage now. My black S22 256gb is on it's way, hopefully this week. I traded a 5 yo Note 8 which I paid $600 for on the Samsung $800 trade-in promotion.. Not complaining at all.. Update 6/1: I've been using this phone for a little over a week now and I love it! It's snappy, great screen with sharp definition. It is great build quality and a lot of style in my opinion. I still like my 12 mini, but I prefer the Android OS. I think it's the perfect size. A 6-in phone used to be considered large, but now it's considered compact. I love the customizing available on Android and especially on Samsung. There's no doubt the battery life is not the best, but with the experience I have with the 12 mini, I can maximize it.
Same here on the weekend I may go over a bit. But really I don't have the screen on all the time. I think some reviewers think everyone has there phone out and on all day 24/7.
Great review! I Love this phone, had it since preorder, here are my tips 1. Vibration motor is weak Heres a tip (go into vibration intensity - Enable vibration sound to give the vibration a type of sound like it vibrating. (ONLY IN NEW UPDATE) 2. Overheating - Download Samsung Game drivers S20/N20 Adreno for snapdragon or Mali for Exynos (2200 worked with this driver even though its amd) Install Game plugins from galaxy store enable Game booster plus (better fps, thermals, watch Dame tech for proof) Add netflix and improved heating and performance. Camera comes in GOS update which released everywhere but US and Canada. Edit: US update has arrived check your software update 3. Battery Adaptive screen refresh rate, Adaptive Battery, Automation on, If not near 5G towers switch to LTE, lastly nearby scan off. If you use widgets or smart widgets bring a charge you're a heavy user theres no way around that until samsung optimizes it. (Better to have features and not a big battery than a big battery without smart widgets) People prefer smart widgets over iPhone widgets for a reason. (If you want best battery you can get consider turning off Personlized ads from google, location, and usage diagnostics). 4. No LED light either use Edge lighting, enable screen off, put custom colors, set duration OR install Aodnotify keep always on display and you will have a light circle around camera giving the illusion of an LED light. (Might have to change power saving mode to allow Always on Display). 5. Screen protector/Tempered glass fingerprint not working If you use gestures click options, increase pressure sensitivity, enable touch sensitivity. Remove fingerprints and use two slots for one thumb different angles and different pressures. (I use S22 I use Ez Dome glass by whitestone and it works well). 6. OneUi 4.0-4.1 have custom alarm snooze times now. In S8-10 and early days of S20. Alarms were only allowed 5 minutes and repeat 3 times (wasted battery) Now you can set alarm to snooze and turn off quicker, (custom 1 minute repeat 3 minutes) 3 minute drainage vs 15 minute drainage if you miss turning off alarm because you're out of the room.
Been using my S22 standard (Qualcomm version with 256 gb) for about a month and a half now and it has been great honestly. It's my first Samsung flagship and I can say that it's the best smartphone experience I've had so far. Or at least the most complete one. Compact and comfortable size in hand, super fast performance with the 8 gen 1, high end cameras with lots of features, perfect design, an awesome bright and responsive screen and a battery that goes with the size of the phone and lasts enough for a normal everyday user. If I could point out the cons I personally would prefer a bit more battery life and a bit more weight for a more solid or heftier feel. So basically a bigger battery would solve both issues at once, autonomy and weight. But all around a near perfect gadget for all needs. I highly recommend it. Elegant, fast, modern and fun. Samsung definitely nailed it with the S22 lineup.
I can say this is the best and most possible design and display of smartphone ever. No highway notch and thick bezels just every possibilities it contained with.
I've had a look at one, seems like an amazing phone . I love it's size . As for the screen WOW! Best screen there is on a smartphone (S22 range). My only concern would be the battery life 🤔
I love the construction of iphones but their notch totally mess it for me. Love how Samsung reduces the edges around the front camera and the bezels in each generation of their phones.
Only got mine this last week and so I'm still getting used to it, I upgraded from the S8+ so there's been a couple of things to get used to like the front camera now being part of the display, and still getting used to side panels, but all around, so happy I got this device, the cameras and quality are another level up and loving the quality. My only -ve is the same as others who have reviewed the phone, would have liked a longer battery life, but in normal use, it gets me through the day nicely, i would agree with the score of 8/10 may be 8 1/2 out of 10
and no more headphone jack for you. Better off buying the Galaxy S9 for $150 still the highest PPI 577 of any even the most recent phones and the greatest Galaxy ever made!
Hey Nick thanks for the review i Really enjoy hearing your voice Most of your reviews are spot on.. 8/10 was the perfect rating.. Still can be improved.. in most of the parts..
Thanks for the review. Could you make another in depth review on the battery. Seeing in the community whereby some are only getting only 3 hours SOT for s22.
Would love to see this. I'm willing to pay for this phone it's just the battery life is my concern. Not a heavy phone user but with some people only getting 2-3 hour screen time and the adaptive a.i refusing to work i'm still pretty skeptical whether or not to purchase.
Getting an s22 as an upgrade from my s10e. I thought about the s22 plus, but didn't seem like it was worth the extra $200 they were charging. Tbh my s10e still feels nice and snappy. Probably didn't need an upgrade.

Hi Nick, I was so happy yo see your review of the Galaxy S22. I was thrilled to discover your channel. I have a question. I've watched other reviews but love how honest you are & how you explain everything. I'm NOT tech savvy. I've got a Galaxy S8 & I can upgrade for free to a Galaxy S22 now. It's my primary phone. I use phone for social, Drs. Appts, camera. I dont have a computer where I can save picts & videos, books. A cpl questions. How Can I save picts on a one of those things ( I 4get name) you stick in comp download whatever & its saved on that. Can I stick a memory "stick" in phone & save it? Is it worth the upgrade now or should I wait awhile to upgrade to the Galaxy S22 Ultra? Like I sd, I dont know what alot things mean. What is your advice? Please lmk if you get a chance. Thank you, love your channel & I just subscribed:)
I think both will make you happy tbh, but all depends on what you do with and and how long you will use it for. For example: a bigger battery will help if you will actually use it until 2026 (guaranteed updates until then) but if you get it for 2 years the differences are minimal
I don't know how with the smaller battery size but my S9 battery was better then the S22 battery which is concerning. I could get 6-7 hours on screen time and the phone is 4 years old and I only get about 5.5 hours with the S22 but the S22 charges faster. My fiancee gets like 12 hours on screen time with his Moto. This is my only real complaint and rarely the speaker crackles. I don't know. I just don't feel there is much difference between the S9 and S22 besides having the better camera and slightly louder speakers. The speed is too similar to me. This being said. It's a great phone. I'm not trying to put it down but I wished I would have waited longer to upgrade. I won't be upgrading again until the S25 or higher.
I've got this one in green...also have a S21+ and a 13 Pro...I'm liking the smaller phones more lately. Also, compared to the 13Pro, this S22 is waay lighter so even less obtrusive in your pocket which is nice when wearing loose fitting shorts which I'm in most times. Just wish the battery was a little better, but like you said, I'm driving to work with the phone plugged in for music so it's getting it's charge on my way...chargers at work etc., so it's really a non-issue. I just love the feel of this phone in the hand versus the 13Pro. one more thing...where and what is that camera glass you put on the back....interested in that for sure...also, I've got the leather samsung case for it and it keeps the phone slim, I also have a Speck Presidio 2 on it now and it brings the bulk back to the phone, but that raised edge on the Speck eases my mind about the screen....samsung, not so much....over all, great little phone! Thanks Nick, great vid!
i was thinking about buying a new phone on my birthday on january 1st and i was thinking between iphone 12 and samsung s22 the samsung is 100$ cheaper any suggestions? (i have a samsung s7 edge)
5:54 how do you make the split screen combinations? I can't figure it out anywhere and the RUclips videos are showing me pop out display instead. Please help
Hi im looking at getting either a s22 or the iphone 13 pro normal size been on samsung for 4 years and use a old ipad at home looking for some advice thanks
I enjoyed this video. I'm at a loss as to which Galaxy I am going to buy. I just lost my Galaxy S10+ in the ocean. I'm hoping the salt water didn't destroy my pictures from the drive. So bummed! I have never seen your videos before but this one is great! Thank you!
I have it on my hand, but to be honest i very dislike the battery management... it's keep draining my battery and just able to keep it like 3/4 day only compared my previous phone..it happen when you used adaptive refresh rate and turning off location, Bluetooth, ..... I hope they maybe fix it in future... Overheating the back of phone is truly irritating even if I just charged it not playing game on it yet.. Lastly, when I use adaptive refresh rate, I noticed the motion of change the frame changed..it was not smoothly changed from 48 to 120 hz..and I think iphone pro is still consistent in changing the refresh rate...Overall I live it but Battery life on sd inside this flagship phone is veryyyy poor 😞😞
The Galaxy Max Hz app from XDA can manually set the display to 48/60/96/120Hz adaptive or all the time. I have my S21+ set to 120Hz all the time but 96Hz option also feels nice. I think you get maybe another 20-30 minutes of battery total from it.
@@GeneralChaz9 strange timing, i just stumbled onto someone mentioning the same app on reddit also. thanks! i need a new phone and Ive decided I'm going to go back to Samsung but they just have so many phone choices it makes it difficult to make a decision I won't regret lol. my pixel 4 only only goes up to 90 and i dont have a problem with it. i also read that you can set bixby routines to only let certain apps to go a certain refresh rate which is interesting and also helpful.
I have the lbone for 2 days.but my headphones type c when i put in,the phone says that is not connected.i tur on usb and everything else still have the problem. Can you help :😩😩
i am still considering getting the s22, im currently using my s8 with the 3000mph battery. power saving is always kept on for me to get near decent battery life. its messed up i want to get the s22 which looks like it will have battery problems , come on samsung fix the battery. what ever happened to that graphite battery samsung was working on, did it fail?
Even though the S21+ has a little bigger battery than the S22+ I'd bet they are very similar in battery life. In reality I think the battery life difference and the 0.1 inch screen difference is almost negligible.
Surprising that Samsung has made a new phone that is slightly smaller than most. Perhaps trying to compete with the new iphone se 2022, though the samsung is about £300 more.
how is the battery liife ? do you play games? can you put the phone on power saver, 60hz, and play no games for 1 day but scroll plenty through social media and let us know how long the battery lasted?
I Luv my Samsung Galaxy s22 Plus more because it has a copper vapor chamber heat pipe but the Regular Samsung Galaxy s22 Doesn't so it runs a lil hotter.
this is an Excellent phone. I have 13 pro and pixel 6 and this S22. Love all 3 but this phone is my top Android phone ever. it's 99.9% the Same exact size as 13/Pro . Battery life is ok, not Great (I make it all day while limiting charge to 85%) Unless you just want a small phone, the + has better battery life. This phone is worth every penny. buy it. you'll love it
Hey, I have a quick question. There's currently a deal with the pixel 6 which makes it £499. But there's also a bigger deal with the S22 which is 15% off and 200 trade in making it £450. Is the battery life a big enough deal to go for the Pixel 6 or should I just hope that I can survive the day with the S22. Plus in the long run which phone will last longer as if the battery life is that bad in a couple years it will only be worse. I am really liking the look and compactness of the S22 but I also don't mind the look of the Pixel at all either.
You know battery size wise the issue with reviews is not everyone uses the phone like reviewers. I had to upgrade from my s21 so it's new. But I for threw the day with only one charge.
I love the size but compared to my s10 I find the field of view is so cramp, don't know why and the status bar words/ icons on top is smaller then my s10. Anyway to enlarge the status bar different then the body text? Or is anyone feeling the same as me and found a solution for it?
S20plus still going strong. No need to upgrade. There is nothing new for me to make me spend hard working money . Samsung must think people nowadays are all naive. S20=s21=s22=? If u own a Samsung s10 let's say, then yes worth buying s22. Keep your money for real things in life ..don' give it to big greedy company's for profit. Nici review of Android . Yes ! You will see bigger batery on s23..again you will say: what a nice screen..wow 120hz..victus ++, but add 300$ more. Gsmarena tested s22plus and s22ultra with 45watt charger.. vs 25watt charger..same result(time)..fake advertise for specs
Hi, we're in the same city! I have an issue & wonder if you can help. My social media apps keep buffering! (Snapchat, IG & FB) They're all updated. I've even updated my phone! I've uninstalled & reinstalled & the issues isn't fixed. I've added the developer option & changed the animation options to .5 with no change. Help me please!
Buffering sounds like a network issue, have you reset network settings? Wi-Fi, 5G reset both of those. If that dont work consider a restart of the phone. Again if that don't work, a factory reset!

did you get one?
Better off getting the Plus
the only one who haves the graphite version😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Honestly amazed by the speed and fluidity.
Which to go s22 vs s22 plus. As i own samsung a50s i want a upgraded new phone so tell me which one to go ☝☝
Going to make a comparison on them soon! For now I’d say the S22 Plus.
@@nickackermanchannel s22 or iPhone 13

Hi, which one do you prefer between the s22 and the s21 + ? Thanks
@@owen7556 the 21+, because it's battery is bigger, last longer...now have an S22+, and don't touch the 22 anymore other than to update it....

I want about 5G 5 bars is the same as iPhone 13 or better when comes to 5G coverage??
i was thinking about buying a new phone on my birthday on january 1st and i was thinking between iphone 12 and samsung s22 the samsung is 100$ cheaper any suggestions? (i have a samsung s7 edge)
Lovely, but... almost 10% battery loss in 20 minutes D:
Mine arrives tomorrow, upgrade from a s20 fe since my kid needs a new phone so he’ll have the s20 fe and I’ll have the s22
5:54 how do you make the split screen combinations? I can't figure it out anywhere and the RUclips videos are showing me pop out display instead. Please help
Google pixel 7 or s22? What about the battery life?
Does anyone know what color Nick's S22 is? It doesn't look like the phantom black or graphite option. Did he put on a skin?
Hi im looking at getting either a s22 or the iphone 13 pro normal size been on samsung for 4 years and use a old ipad at home looking for some advice thanks
Switching from apple to Samsung I’m either gonna get the s22 or wait for the s23
Either get the galaxy s22 Plus are the galaxy 23
Same here, I'm gonna be upgrading from iPhone 12 mini since it's gonna be paid off
@@itsstellaraine I got the 12 pro rn I’m just done with apple everything’s a money grab and at this point Samsung is way ahead of them
The S22 is the best compact phone on the market now period!
There any way to get the actual LED for notifications like the older phones? That's the only thing I don't like about this phone.
Does it support call recording feature built into the phone please?
Yes
This phone looks beautiful i need an android phone and this might be it
Beautiful review🙏 I go by S22 ❣️🫠
Which colour is this thanks
I have the Samsung Galaxy S21 fe And I love it.
does finger print scanner work well despite the screen protector?
Mine does. Check before you buy. Zagg hybrid is the one I use and I have no issues with the sensor. Unless it's cold like really cold
Hey Nick! which colour is this? Graphite? Please do confirm the colour of this S22.
Phantom black
I just don't know why Samsung would make the battery smaller than the S21 . I just don't understand.
I enjoyed this video. I'm at a loss as to which Galaxy I am going to buy. I just lost my Galaxy S10+ in the ocean. I'm hoping the salt water didn't destroy my pictures from the drive. So bummed! I have never seen your videos before but this one is great! Thank you!
You can never lose your pics because they live in the cloud
Lol saltwater destroyed the cloud drive 😂
Ultra or plus? Whats better buy?
Great review bro thanks! Just got my S22
with Snapdraggon or Exynos 2200?

@@otakusan8804 hows battery life? Here we have exynos 2200. I hear 3 till 4 hours SOT max with that chip
Can you drop the display to 90hz? If so will that help w battery?
I prefer the S21 Plus because of its higher battery capacity and screen size. S21 Plus Vs S22 Plus comparison to come.
Even though the S21+ has a little bigger battery than the S22+ I'd bet they are very similar in battery life. In reality I think the battery life difference and the 0.1 inch screen difference is almost negligible.

Trying to decide between buying the s22 or saving the cash and buying the s21….
Surprising that Samsung has made a new phone that is slightly smaller than most. Perhaps trying to compete with the new iphone se 2022, though the samsung is about £300 more.
But Samsung s22 is wayyyyy better lol
@@DaffyTheDuck42029 and nearly double the price.
Not with the SE 2022, but with the iPhone 13 mini. IMO.

how can you get 4:30 hours or 5 hours? i get barely 3 hours..
My s22 drains battery a little bit faster than I expected. However, charging is very fast.
Watching from my s22 😁
how is the battery liife ? do you play games? can you put the phone on power saver, 60hz, and play no games for 1 day but scroll plenty through social media and let us know how long the battery lasted?
I love my brand new s22 in green!!
with Snapdraggon or Exynos chip?
battery life?
How's battery life compare to s21?
Whats that song that plays during the camera samples.
Love this device.. 😀 I'm more of a fan of this than the s+ .. using the snakehive leather folio case.
@@meishi6428 Hey where are you finding those deals!! :)
You know battery size wise the issue with reviews is not everyone uses the phone like reviewers.
I had to upgrade from my s21 so it's new. But I for threw the day with only one charge.
why not just put a bigger battery in the phone to start with?? ASUS zenphone 4300mAh, Xiaomi 12 4600mAh and so on...//all the best troutbumandsam
Not everyone has there phone out all day with the screen on.
Thinking about getting one
Where I live, even on the s22 I only get 1 bar, wifi is a necessity even for calling, so I don't get to take advantage of the 5G very often
S20=s21=s22=?
Coming from an iPhone X, the S22+ is a huge upgrade for me . I love mine
I wish the battery and camera app was better. Camera stutters and not as fast taking as iPhone
S22 and plus batteries are worse. You can never make it a full day wit it. I just see the realme gt2 and pro. Much more bang for the buck
Keep seeing the 799 price point but here in canada there all 1300 ill stick with my s20

@@nickackermanchannel OK....I'll reset both & let you know if that works.
