Mark and Nadia, 10 years ago I weighed over 300 pounds (about 20 stone English measurement). My weight had gotten to the point where it was adversely affecting my health physically and mentally. I began to eat more sensibly (not radically) and I started walking on a near-daily basis. I eventually mixed in some lap swimming as a change-up to my walking. I'm pleased to announce that my weight is at approx. 210 pounds (about 15 stone). I'm going to continue walking and swimming as long as my 51 year-old body will let me. I've discovered a couple of things I think are very important: A: The proper mind-set. You have to WANT to do it, not "HAVE" to do it. Otherwise, it won't work. B: You have to be in it for the "long haul." If it's "I'll exercise and diet for a few months then stop when I reach my weight goal," it won't work. It's a CONTINUOUS PROCESS. I hope this helps. Random observations: 1) ChiChi is thoroughly enjoying sticking her nose out the car window and loving the New Year while the adults in the car are contemplating where the fat goes and pats of butter. 2) Nanny Di knows how to use a scarf: as a blanket, as a hat, as a neck wrap. Can’t wait to see her use it as a parachute when she jumps out of that plane. 3) Toffee and ChiChi deserve their own compilation/best of/highlight episode. 4) A pink pom pom improves all outfits. 5) would love to see what Kiki and Nanny Di are up to while they’re off your camera. Once upon a time I looked up where the fat went. Most of all....we breathe it out! I was so surprised! We also ‘fart’ it out and sweat it off. We poop it out least of all....By the way Mark...when Nadia asks you not to to put her ‘Windy Pops’ moments in the final cut.....you know what you should do....Nettle tea is a fab diuretic and Mark replace lemon with orange peel...you’ll be surprised by the many medical benefits of orange peel. I never throw orange or lemon peel away, I dry it out and use it it many of my recipes.
Breakfast not necessary, check out intermittent fasting Nadia, there are lots of benefits, giving your body chance to rest and get into fat burning mode.
Nadia you have a servant heart in a good way you love to serve people and look after their needs it’s a lovely trait to have your family are very lucky and you are funny to boot 😂😂
Ahh shops shut. I’m just taking each meal at a time, trying to make healthy choices but also using a smaller plate to cut down on portion sizes. Eating slowly and stopping when full. Not denying myself anything as that will make me want it more and I’ll fail. This is for life not just a quick fix. Alcohol isn’t a problem as can take or leave it. Cheese may be. Trying to move more in general, used to pile things to go upstairs at the bottom and take up all at once, now take up when I see something that needs taking up instead of piling them up. Watched programme on tv last night, lies about diet and excercise, interesting. Good luck guys x

I’m 43 and 6ft tall and 4 years ago I weighed just under 16 stone now 4 years on after having 3 leg operations for my arthritis in my knees and ankles I now weigh 19 stone. This year I’m determined to get back down to around 16 stone.

In my household it’s finding a balance that suits me and my husband...I have a neurological condition/disability and for the first time in 15 years I’m not underweight so now I have to keep that weight on but my husband is needing to lose weight! I struggle because I don’t have an appetite but I love cooking,but because of my disability I need someone else in the house when I’m cooking....sometimes it way to easy to get take away, process rubbish....and while 75% of the time my husband does eat home cooked meals, he secret eats....so now he has promised to eat heathy and be honest about what he is eating, do more exercise and try other foods....I just need to find meals that means he loses weight and I keep on what little weight I have! I’ve told him he needs to start watching this vlog for motivation, and go through the highs and lows together!
Ellie0028 ahh Ellie it sounds like you have a lot to endure .. carbs are certainly the thing that makes me put the most weight on . So you could eat the same meals but give yourself double the carbs . It’s munch healthier to have brown ones though ! Brown rice brown pasta sweet potatoes . Am going to be cooking some dishes for theses vlogs too . What’s your husbands name ? So we can give him a shout out !

Hi Nadia and mark! I’ve tried the lemon ginger and honey (couldn’t find turmeric early this morning) drink and I must admit I did feel quite good after as have had a cold and feeling sluggish,also felt quite energetic so thanks for that x.
You can do it. I'm 17 years old and I got up to 22 stone (308 lbs) in 2017 when I was 15. I decided to eat more healthy and exercise. My two main tips are drink mainly water and DANCE. Loved this very inspiring,I've started my meditation & yoga i just want to tone up now for the summer & I'm eating more cleaner,lots of veg & more protein & Green shakes,I've heard that when you change your diet it's best to take vitamin D/B12 every day that it helps with any aches & pains & back pain also helps with any mood changes & gives the body a boost,apparently most of us are lacking in these vitamins..keep it up guys your doing brill 👌
Love these vlogs. A bag of sugar is equal to a lb and cheaper than butter. Have a look at Optima Montmorency Cherry Juice - it’s beneficial for sleeping, reducing blood pressure and aching muscles. I think you both look great!
I started making/drinking bone broth once or twice a day. Incredible for reducing inflammation, weight loss, collagen etc.. Also green tea every morning has drastically reduced my mid section, that along with removing dairy from my diet.
I weigh once a month just to get an idea, use my clothes to tell. Snappy Nadia 😂 it will pass. We went to Whitby New Year’s Day, lovely, I usually do get a lot of steps in looking after grandchildren

I have thought about going to over eaters anonymous but I’m a bit apprehensive about going on my own. So I’m going to try and do it myself. My theory is, I’ve done it once before I can do it again. My father passed away when he was 56 through being so over weight so I should be able to use that as my motivation again! Xx
I'm on a dairy free gluten free since last week. Not so much for weight loss but I suffer with my sinuses and heard that there's a link with that and the gut. Also taking probiotics and lemon honey & ginger drinks. You both look great btw. Muscle weighs more than fat so I only panic when clothes don't fit

Definitely going to try the lemon tumeric drink, I'm also going alcohol free for 100 days!! AND cutting down on the rubbish food! Feel so bloated and my skin looks awful after the festive month of over indulging! Can I use agave nectar instead of honey? X

@@sawalhaadderleys I've just cut out sweetener too, I find that once I've changed the way I eat, I don't miss things like sweetener, tastebuds adapt and get used to it not being there 👍 I may order that book, to give me a bit of an extra boost of inspiration. I don't drink alot but I am in the habit of having a couple of glasses of wine when I'm home from work on a Friday! Want that habit gone.. Swapping it for other ways to relax x

Procrastiurination: the act (or more accurately non act) of putting off going to the toilet especially while in bed ... I made up that word while Procrastiurinating!
You can eat anything, in moderation. Use smaller plates. Eat smaller portions and exercise. Lose the weight gradually over a longer period. Maybe even just 100g or 200g a day. As long as you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Also you will gain muscle. Remember muscle is heavier than fat, so also use tge tape measure! And don't lose faith if you don't lose any weight now and again. I am 59.5kg just now. Hopefully lose about 4kg over the next few weeks. Keep up the good work peeps! Love your vlogs! X
@@sawalhaadderleys Exactly! The first week or so, is mostly water. Then it gets harder. But stick with it. Also when you eat less, your stomach gets used to it. So you will start to feel you are full more quickly. Your stomach actually shrinks. You can do it! X
You burn fat like a car burns petrol. That's where it goes. Riding horses is my church. Garlic is great to reduce mucus. Nadia, can you help us with good breakfast ideas on the go. Stuffing shells for dinner as I watch. Interval training is the best!
I went on a recent trip to Paris for a 13 hour bus journey overall a three day trip and I didn’t want to eat or drink scared I would need the toilet on the trip and I nearly passed out and was nearly sick throughout the whole trip and my teacher was so worried because I only consumed like 300 calories over nearly 4 days (something like that) now after watching this that it’s hit reality I should’ve drank at least water!!! You guys are great!! In full swing of this and embracing it! Love to you all 💕
I am now and I’ve started to drink more! I’ve had a blood test to check all my levels are good because I feel sick and light headed all the time so fingers crossed I’m good 😂 thank you guys 💕💕

Nan is correct...you need electrolytes, not plain water, to rehydrate.AND what people need to understand is fat does not make fat, carbs do.If you dont burn off the carbs it turns to fat and if you have a low carb diet you not only burn off the carbs quicker (as long as you do some form of exercise,30 min walking is a good start) but you start to burn fat and thats when you start seeing results. (love your vlogs)

@dave 1 Yes, it was in a book I read about eating to help with the arthritis pain and it did say that lemon would make it worse, like you I had been drinking lemon water every morning

Nadia and Mark iam 57 years old and iam only 4 foot 3 but Iam between a size 16 to a 18 I won't to loose weight but don't no were to start first

Chrissie oh how incredible that you lost that amount . Taht is so so so difficult ! Debilitating to put it back on ., but possible one day at a time . Have you thought of joining over eaters anonymous or one of the NHS weight loss help groups . You really need some support . Happy you are enjoying the vlogs !! X
I have thought about going to over eaters anonymous but I’m a bit apprehensive about going on my own. So I’m going to try and do it myself. My theory is, I’ve done it once before I can do it again. My father passed away when he was 56 through being so over weight so I should be able to use that as my motivation again! Xx
14:15 we have it here in india almost same recipe but with less honey...generally we have it in the morning before workout or yoga...

I'm on a dairy free gluten free since last week. Not so much for weight loss but I suffer with my sinuses and heard that there's a link with that and the gut. Also taking probiotics and lemon honey & ginger drinks. You both look great btw. Muscle weighs more than fat so I only panic when clothes don't fit
Can't wait see what healthy meals you make Nadia then I can take leaf out your book and try some of the meals you make. Great seeing yous look full of joy. Did you know it's harder for us women to lose weight then men they can lose it lot easyer and faster then us. Xx
Love it...nadia you are certainly at your happiest near the sea...do you suffer with the flushes of the menopause while you run/exercise?and if not what do you take hrt?

Definitely going to try the lemon tumeric drink, I'm also going alcohol free for 100 days!! AND cutting down on the rubbish food! Feel so bloated and my skin looks awful after the festive month of over indulging! Can I use agave nectar instead of honey? X

@@sawalhaadderleys I've just cut out sweetener too, I find that once I've changed the way I eat, I don't miss things like sweetener, tastebuds adapt and get used to it not being there 👍 I may order that book, to give me a bit of an extra boost of inspiration. I don't drink alot but I am in the habit of having a couple of glasses of wine when I'm home from work on a Friday! Want that habit gone.. Swapping it for other ways to relax x

You can eat anything, in moderation. Use smaller plates. Eat smaller portions and exercise. Lose the weight gradually over a longer period. Maybe even just 100g or 200g a day. As long as you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Also you will gain muscle. Remember muscle is heavier than fat, so also use tge tape measure! And don't lose faith if you don't lose any weight now and again. I am 59.5kg just now. Hopefully lose about 4kg over the next few weeks. Keep up the good work peeps! Love your vlogs! X

@@sawalhaadderleys Exactly! The first week or so, is mostly water. Then it gets harder. But stick with it. Also when you eat less, your stomach gets used to it. So you will start to feel you are full more quickly. Your stomach actually shrinks. You can do it! X
You burn fat like a car burns petrol. That's where it goes. Riding horses is my church. Garlic is great to reduce mucus. Nadia, can you help us with good breakfast ideas on the go. Stuffing shells for dinner as I watch. Interval training is the best!

I went on a recent trip to Paris for a 13 hour bus journey overall a three day trip and I didn’t want to eat or drink scared I would need the toilet on the trip and I nearly passed out and was nearly sick throughout the whole trip and my teacher was so worried because I only consumed like 300 calories over nearly 4 days (something like that) now after watching this that it’s hit reality I should’ve drank at least water!!! You guys are great!! In full swing of this and embracing it! Love to you all 💕

I am now and I’ve started to drink more! I’ve had a blood test to check all my levels are good because I feel sick and light headed all the time so fingers crossed I’m good 😂 thank you guys 💕💕

Nan is correct...you need electrolytes, not plain water, to rehydrate.AND what people need to understand is fat does not make fat, carbs do.If you dont burn off the carbs it turns to fat and if you have a low carb diet you not only burn off the carbs quicker (as long as you do some form of exercise,30 min walking is a good start) but you start to burn fat and thats when you start seeing results. (love your vlogs)
Hi, I look forward to all of your vlogs, just to say that you need black pepper to activate the constituents in the turmeric and I have read that lemon in contra-indicated in arthritic conditions
@dave 1 Yes, it was in a book I read about eating to help with the arthritis pain and it did say that lemon would make it worse, like you I had been drinking lemon water every morning

Nads you live in the right country to not like cold water! I was desperate to find some ice water when I was over there! I asked for some at a pub and I got 2 cubes.... hmmm, yeah, nope! Give me a flippin' glass of ice and pour some water in it!! Haha! You guys are doing great! So proud of you! I wish I could get 10,000 steps a day -- only time that happens is when I'm on vacation somewhere! xx
