Something I'd love to see implemented: corner pipes. Like in Mirror's Edge, pipes would be placed in corners and you'd be able to grab them to do a quick 90° turn. This would add so much to the fluidity of the game!
I want another legend level skill that increases climbing/climb up speed up to maybe 25%. It sucks that parkour feels so fluid and fast until you actually have to grab something
I WISH I MENTIONED THIS. There’s this one animation that is slower than every single other one where you hoist your body up onto something. Half the time this animation happens, other half… Aiden just slaps both hands down and voila you’ve completed the move in half a second😂
I love that one handed monkey bar idea, and I've never needed those punching bag things but if you could keep your momentum and actually go places with it instead of just falling down with a really clunky animation that would be great
I have something you can try on those monkey bars depending on what you play on you can press c on keyboard to let go of the bar and it looks more natural going down
id like to see animations when you climb a less tall obstacle, some more animations in general that could be random, and id like to see the far jump function like it did in e3 where you can activate it by simply jumping on a higher obstacle
Another thing i would like them to change is with the grab on to structure with while hand while falling, they should do after you grab it after falling from certain height start quick pressing square on ps4/5 or X on xbox so you wont fall. Another thing is that they should change the physics of those hanging piper and other things because when you stand on edge of them they just tilt on the side you stand on without consequences but what should happen is if you stand for too long the object of going to tilt too much that it will make you fall
The only thing I would want in DL2 parkour from DL1 is pulling yourself up instead of grabbing a ledge. You know like when Crane didn't make the jump and the ledge is on his waist level, he just pulls himself up, meanwhile Aiden slowly grabs the ledge and start a slow pull up. This is what really slows down the parkour.
Just want to put this out the wall opening you could just look up vaulted. I agree with the punching bag too, but everything else isn't a big deal to me. I think co-op animations need to get fixed.
Does anyone remember when they promised 3000 parkour animations. They said it in one of the dying2know episodes, even OniZombies made a video about. Still love the game though
See this is where they get you with certain things they say a lot of companies do this. They probably said it to make you believe “wow 3000!” When in reality they probably mean that’s how many single animations frame by frame😂
Another desperate thing they need to fix allow dashing without a cooldown allow vaulting to carry momentum and look smoother possibly increase the running speed a tad bit after all, Aiden is a super human fix the blocking Jenkee after boost skill it’s so robotic can’t they smooth it out a little is seven mediately, gaining speed you could gain speed faster and also keep the speed of an after boost skill and also not lose momentum while you’re using the after boost, speed boost, when jumping
interesting point about the punching bags: they usually serve the same purpose as tackling a zombie off a building. but when you're falling with a zombie you have the option to dismount if you want to. also i do kinda wish that when we tackle the punching bags it'd at least have some forward momentum so we'd fall off with an arch, rather than a 90 degree drop. hell a lot of the animations seriously lack any forward momentum, which is pretty contrary to the point of a game all about speed and freerunning. also for the double ziplines i think you have to hold down the drop button in order for it to let you fall completely. its a janky occurrence with a lot of surfaces and the monkey bars too.
@@jdauk04 Its just a movement in which a person vaults over an object whilst having their legs pass through both arms. You can watch some parkour videos on RUclips and you’ll see. Also in dying light 1 crane used it 90% of the time

Replaying dying light 1 makes me wonder why they didn’t add it in DL2 tbh especially since they went for realism in the parkour system
What I actually really want is the ability to slam doors open on the run, just like in DL1. If it is in the game, it's so hidden that I haven't figured it out in like 90 hours of playing. It always kills the momentum of the chase - when Aiden stops and gently opens the door without any sign of urgency as if he's not being chased by an f-ton of volatiles
It does exist my friend but not as accessible as the first game unfortunately. You hold your attack button whilst sprinting to “bash” then when you run into the door you’ll (maybe) prompt the animation. Try it out!
The actual changes the parkour needs is some map updates, unique outposts with interactable structures, unique darkzones that make use of the parkour, the moving platforms/pipes are also extremely slow and need to be sped up drastically in order to create a more engaging experience. Destructable stuff would be great, they could bring back events like falling throught the floor into a dark zone
All good stuff! I really don’t have any more hope for villedor though… DLC2 map may be smaller but at the very least they should be crafting it themselves without the use of “city builder” the AI that created villedor
I just want them to fix slopes... slopes / ramps feel so awful to play around, especially woth their weird shapes I died often because of them, mainly because they frick up your movement and you can't attack while you're on it. God forbid I fight around a tree stump or even at the edge of a roof.
@jdauk04 those too, or just slight bumps or a tiny pebble on the road can seriously mess you up lol, I swear sometimes this game feels really fluid to play and other times it's just a mess
I want techland to add a freerunner mode where it allows you to do tricks mid air nd makes parkour for those who want to be like flash or something lol but i wanna do the same dive-thru-the-wall-thingy anytime i want it'll be so cool lol
For me the biggest pain in the ass is high jump, double jump whatever you call it. In comparison to fixed far jump it feels very slow and clunky. Saw a mod with parkour changes which made this move much more enjoyable, "Dying Edge" was it's name. Would love to see this animation improved over what it is now. Anyway great video!

Maybe they’ll be able to change those things too? Maybe an overall NERF to Aiden might bring the game back to a more interesting state. Well to be honest that was wayyyyyyyy better video than the charismas one. You can easily see that you invested lots of time into this video. You brought up valid points and you showed in the videos the things you talked about (Instead of showing generic gameplay that was irrelevant like the last time). I must say I really enjoyed this video my guy. The only thing that I might have a complain with is that I think there was a whole more room to talk about in this video THIS IS A PERSONAL OPINION, I am sort of a parkour junkie so I know lots of fixes/tweaks that can improve the parkour experience (it could have increased the video's length). But the video targeted main issues that most people agree with. hence the title of the video. Ama keep watching your videos and hope to see you perfect your craft. Thank you! I did make sure I was more careful with the editing as in the Christmas video I made a huge mistake earlier on in the video as well as the nocturnal weapons I did not represent properly. I do agree (if this is what you meant) that the spacing of the parkour objects in the game are too close together. Aiden is so powerful that you have to pull yourself backwards mid-air completely defying physics just to properly land on something 😂Anyways, thank you for the support it means the world!

We need to replace vault anims with E3 2019 vault and Monster trailer vault, Bring back E3 climbing animation, Add radial blur to parkour which E3 and DL1 had it, Bring back 1.00 monkey bar jump which looks better, Bring back 2019-2021 Grappling hook anims which looks more smoother and cooler, Add another variant to rolling animation
I would love to see some e3 animations for example enemy vault which was more realistic and similar to dying light and jumping off of the rope (dunno how to say it differently) also far jump could be changed to what we’ve seen in e3 because it was more grounded and fluent. If it was for me I would combine some animations to make it seem more diverse maybe the hand flow/movement which for me personally was better in e3 2018/19
To add onto the falling bags. Make it so it gives you control of you camera and that it doesn’t lock you camera either. It’s so annoying how when you stand up you’re looking straight down at the ground and have to wait a second to move your camera
Here's what I think: add more structural hazards, add the ability to slide down a slope gaining more momentum, and better transitioning from one ledge to another, and the one arm monkey bar swing you mentioned, but only when descending down. I believe that one arm for the monkey bars will only make that one arm stress out due to your weight, making two arms much better when going up, or traversing horizontally due to you spreading the weight.
I think the landing bags would work better if we could kinda "tackle" them with some momentum instead of just grabbing them and dropping, so its more of a cushioned dive off the roof than the normal 90 degree fall. I actively avoid the things rn so i agree they absolutely need to be changed.
Ngl I was expecting a greedy and stupid argument about asking to change the map or changing everything e3 first game blah blah blah stuff like that. But no these points actually make sense and maybe techland can fix these issues with a small update. Good vid
They also need to fix the physics graphic with you tossing a weapon into the water that it splashes back on to you or when you jump into the water that has a big splash and tweak the ragdoll physics for the virals and also give you the ability to block the viral lunge jump.😏
It'd be cool if when going through the wall, Aiden wound grab the top bar in the animation and if R2 (or the corresponding button) is pressed you drop kick out of it, like off monkey bars, the paraglider, and swinging, which would keep the momentum and give the ability to be able to bash into zombies.
the drop landing bag is just plain useless, you can roll from the same height and it is much faster and not restrictive at all, or you could air kick a zombie, i think they should just be plain removed or replaced with something else. There certainly needs to be some more interactable parkour props, like destructible overhangs that could break when you run on them or fall onto them, boards covering doorways that you have to bash through or dropkick like in e3, and PLEASE, breakable glass windows that you could dropkick zombies or jump through.
For some reason when using the grappling hook for going up onto a ledge, if I miss the platform with my feet and grab with my hands, Aiden for whatever reason ALWAYS swings like a pole instead of recognizing it as a ledge to climb up. Shit is so annoying and has caused me to die a few times.
I was thinking about that one as I was recording, I thought that maybe during parkour when you grab onto it, your body would naturally be forward more with the momentum, so from that point (like a quick time event) upon clicking the button to then move forward, the motion would be very fluid from the point that your body swung to from the motion prior to grabbing the ledge.
Pre release for this game the hanging platforms you mentioned at the end used to tilt a lot more to the point where you had to crawl up them I really thing they should add that back cause in there current state they just act like a floating platform
It is a foundational mechanic of the parkour that is provided in the map… is that not a map update? 😂 More skills would probably come in a DLC2. More weapons and enemies are already being added… I’m not changing their focus by making suggestion, there’s a lot of positive feedback on this video too.
Me personally, I think this Map is way too big! I couldn’t even finish DL2 because just traversing around was a chore. Not a hater, DL2 is just way too big at some points. It feels like too much. They went the route with Valhalla, that’s why I didn’t bother finishing it 😭
It is super big that’s for sure. Fast travel (in my opinion) is also a bit of a chore having to run out of the metro station… just gets a bit tedious. Maybe DLC2 will be smaller and packed more densely with better detail.
@@jdauk04 it honestly sucks for me, I loved Dying Light and all the Dead Island games. Like what you said, I wouldn’t mind a more fleshed out smaller map. The amount of buildings and skyscrapers just turned me off 😭😂 I like the parkour, but it kind of turned into “Mirriors Edge”. Hate to say it but I don’t at the same time. I almost just wish they would either create a new Techland Zombie style game or give us a smaller version of Dying Light. The updates for the game only really bring more blood and a few weapons. (I’m glad people have enough fun with that)

I think that they need to add breakable terrain, like if you land on some loose planks they would snap as send you falling down like in the first game

I wish momentum actually existed lol. If you slide downhill, you don’t speed up. You just stop sliding

I want the ledge dropkick to launch you forward and the animation to happen quicker, I barely use it for combat and more parkour

People just nitpicking now. Changing the punching bag descend? That's literally like not important or needed. Let them focus on bigger things.
For rxample: updating the map, more skills, more enemies, more weapons, vehicles, etc.
It is a foundational mechanic of the parkour that is provided in the map… is that not a map update? 😂 More skills would probably come in a DLC2. More weapons and enemies are already being added… I’m not changing their focus by making suggestion, there’s a lot of positive feedback on this video too.

Me personally, I think this Map is way too big! I couldn’t even finish DL2 because just traversing around was a chore.
Not a hater, DL2 is just way too big at some points. It feels like too much.
They went the route with Valhalla, that’s why I didn’t bother finishing it 😭
It is super big that’s for sure. Fast travel (in my opinion) is also a bit of a chore having to run out of the metro station… just gets a bit tedious. Maybe DLC2 will be smaller and packed more densely with better detail.

Like what you said, I wouldn’t mind a more fleshed out smaller map. The amount of buildings and skyscrapers just turned me off 😭😂
I like the parkour, but it kind of turned into “Mirriors Edge”.
Hate to say it but I don’t at the same time.
I almost just wish they would either create a new Techland Zombie style game or give us a smaller version of Dying Light. The updates for the game only really bring more blood and a few weapons. (I’m glad people have enough fun with that)

uhm...dying ligth has decent parkour but the best in the industry?not even close,games like ac unity have parkour in a completly different league
Unity is less physical in my opinion. Dying light 2 you have much more freedom
@@jdauk04 what?dy feels more realistic because its first person,but have you played unity?the freedom to do all kinds of complex stunts and link diferent moves is on a different level,watch a video of it
