- The Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino was the first of three casinos Donald Trump owned in New Jersey-all of which eventually filed for bankruptcy protection multiple times and went belly up. Trump’s legacy in Atlantic City has long been defined by self-dealing, financial trouble, and avoiding paying small, mom-and-pop contractors.
The timing of the implosion could not have been more symbolic. With the second impeachment trial completed, hundreds flocked to Atlantic City to bask in the collective schadenfreude and celebrate the end of Trump’s presidency. Nearby hotels such as Caesars jacked up their midweek prices to take advantage of the surge in visitors coming to the gaming town, which was struggling long before its hospitality business was hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

That place had so many liens on it it’s a wonder it didn’t fall over by itself.
It was a great hotel casino. Best parking garage in AC, spacious, well lit. The New Yorker Deli made great club sandwiches. Restrooms were clean and huge. Saw some great shows and sporting events there. It was a really “happening” place back in the 80s-90s. Turned into a runned-down dump in the 2000s.
That building was so 80s elegant. Amazing how 80s it looked till the day it came down!

Seen a couple of other "Tallest buildings in the city" demolished to heartfelt cheers, not for the adrenaline fix of a building being destroyed but from the sheer hatred for said buildings. Something's wrong all right, but not necessarily with what you're presently thinking.

Most casinos are money-making cash cows. It's hard for a casino to be actually losing money unless:
a. Gross mismanagement and or negligent operations
b. Money continually being drained from the business'es budget.

He went bankrupt in 2009 while still being a real estate agent. After it closed the building started to fall apart and pieces fell off almost hitting people and they finally took it down to avoid injuries and to avoid being sued.

Yep it looks ‘like’ it, similar in some ways.. and here’s the but.. here we see blue sky from behind of where the top of the building was, when WT1 and 2 ‘fell’ (actually ‘fell’ is a good word to use) the image we saw is a ploom of smoke/dust bellowing upwards and the building structure expanding outwards and disintegrating as it fell away. And on this building the molecular structure of each atom wasn’t altered in some exotic way.
