Growing up in Philadelphia, we would go "down the shore" to Atlantic city every summer before all the casinoswere built.. It was so wonderful and crazy, but the hotels were huge and gorgeous and they had steel pier which had some amazing roller coasters. I cried when I went back in the early nineties. So I just found this youtube video, and interestingly, last night I was asking my mom for more detail about the time Trump didn't pay his bill at my mom's company. In 1990 in Manhattan, just after my mom began working at a printing company as the lead financial comptroller, my mom processed a $350k-$375k project for the Taj Mahal casino which was one of their biggest accounts at that time. Her company had never conducted business with Trump before, and the whole area was excited about possibilities of the Taj Mahal. Well, about a month after delivering Trump's print order, the owner of her company heard through the grapevine that the Taj Mahal was tanking and there was talk bills may not be paid. Trump hadn't yet paid his bill, so the owner quickly submitted the appropriate paperwork to wherever it's responsible (the bank?) so the company could get paid before the Taj Mahal shop closed for good. 2 - 3 months later, they finally got their money (minus late fees, so in other words: a free loan). But they were just extremely relieved they got paid; otherwise, the company may not have survived. Unfortunately, other businesses weren't so lucky, like contractors. So I don't understand how Trump can claim he supports business. His track record shows otherwise.

Growing up in Philadelphia, we would go "down the shore" to Atlantic city every summer before all the casinoswere built.. It was so wonderful and crazy, but the hotels were huge and gorgeous and they had steel pier which had some amazing roller coasters. I cried when I went back in the early nineties. I am so glad to have the real memories of a bygone era of Atlantic City. Not even the salt water taffy tastes the same.

As a commercial lender at the time, I met with several business owners who lost money working for Trump. But I also visited the Taj Mahal some years after opening and predicted it would fail, simply because he invested too much into the facade and other non-income producing attractions at the facility. I just could not see how he could sustain that at the time.

So I just found this youtube video, and interestingly, last night I was asking my mom for more detail about the time Trump didn't pay his bill at my mom's company.
In 1990 in Manhattan, just after my mom began working at a printing company as the lead financial comptroller, my mom processed a $350k-$375k project for the Taj Mahal casino which was one of their biggest accounts at that time. Her company had never conducted business with Trump before, and the whole area was excited about possibilities of the Taj Mahal.
Well, about a month after delivering Trump's print order, the owner of her company heard through the grapevine that the Taj Mahal was tanking and there was talk bills may not be paid. Trump hadn't yet paid his bill, so the owner quickly submitted the appropriate paperwork to wherever it's responsible (the bank?) so the company could get paid before the Taj Mahal shop closed for good.
2 - 3 months later, they finally got their money (minus late fees, so in other words: a free loan). But they were just extremely relieved they got paid; otherwise, the company may not have survived. Unfortunately, other businesses weren't so lucky, like contractors.
So I don't understand how Trump can claim he supports business. His track record shows otherwise.
