I first watched this movie when I was like 6 or seven years old. It was the first time I ever cried watching a movie. I'll always remember this film because it had such a profound impact on me. I may not be Scottish, but the Scots will always have my support 100%.
An absolutely incredible (if historically in accurate) movie about loss, death, absolution, redemption, loyalty, love and the glory of life. I found every emotion on the scale in this incredible film
I am from Greece but I had the honor to live in Scotland for 5 years.. All these great but proud people, that despite their problems they were keep laughing, their hospitality, the music, the sound of rain, the smell of grass, the mountains, the history... the Scottish spirit in general terms... made me consider Scotland as my second homeland! Scotland forever!!!!!

Greatest movie of the last 25 years, period. Excellent story, fantastic cinematography, superior acting and moving score. In the same class as The Godfather or Star Wars. I was lucky enough to watch it on the big screen and remember being swept up from the first scene when he walks in to his entire village being hung inside a barn. Thank you Mel Gibson.

Braveheart was a great film because it has made people aware of Wallace; his selflessness, his love of family and country and his sacrifice. I believe in Scottish independence. Nothing to do with hating English people. The English are a great and decent people but the Union is dead and we can no longer be ruled from London; sold out by "Scots" at Westminster as we are. Long live true freedom and independence. Scotland forever!

My ancestor, Alexander Kneeland was William Wallace's uncle who raised and educated him abroad, and his son, William's cousin James was with him in every single battle even in France. He got a coast-of-arms from the Bruce. So of course I love it!
i know that most people who watched this movie knew that it was not a historical fact. it was mearly entertainment that brought out our inner desire for freedom, something we all desire. that was all it was. i thoroughly enjoyed the movie and it did give me a feeling of patriotism not because it was a true account but because it was something we wished or wish could be. you certainly have a right to your own opinion,thanks to freedom.

This movie is by far the best of all time in my humble opinion, and speaks to the very heart of all that is good, noble, courageous, right and true. It pulls at the heart and makes you understand and realize how the simplest and purest of things like the love of a father, and the strong arm of a brother, and the love and dedication of a husband or wife.
Braveheart is my all time favourite movie. I can remember when it came out we had a very patriotic teacher in primary school who let us watch part of the movie as a treat and she had us singing our national anthem in a line and everything. Lots of great memories with this film and it never grows old for me. There is no doubt , this film is one of the best movie we have in the world. I was born in east Asia, for past five thousand year history in east, we have no entire freedom. We see scotland fight with srong England to get freedom even they know it is hard to success, but they still did it. UK is strong contury in the world.

There is something about this film that makes you want to get up and be part of it, to get up and help these guys. Their passion crosses over into all parts of their lives and if you sit and watch it enough times, try and draw on that in your own life. If you can even put a fraction of that passion into what you do with your family and your kids day in day out we will all be better people. Not sure where this is coming from?
