My mom said, no, our Ganesh ji isn't drinking any milk, and then that aunty said that even her Ganesh ji isn't drinking milk and she lied about it. You see? Also water being curved in the glass is due to the phenomenon where adhesive force is more than the cohesive force. Not mainly capillary. But this is opposite in silverware, where water doesn’t stick to the surface. That is the reason why old people used to advise giving food to kids on silverware to avoid contamination. But this later on became a status symbol.

But here's the thing he didn't just started it for the religious sake alone, as the East India company had kinda prohibited the Indian revolutionaries to gather and protest against them, Tilak and others came up with a brilliant move of ganesh chaturthi, to keep fighting for our freedom and more importantly for the sake of UNITY among our people ✌🏼🔆💯. But look around you, nowadays, 1 town and how many of these so called Mandals and how many Ganesha idols? You call that unity?? That aside Let's talk about impact on mother nature, I live along side a River in MH, Every year it is heavily polluted, the fish have gone a long time ago, we ruined their Home. When it comes to farmer suicides, India is among the highest, and MH is highest in India. One of the main reasons is as they can't pay back the debt is because their crops were a failure due to irregular climate, the farmers are some of the most religious people, then why do they have to suffer?? Their is a difference between being a Patriot and a nationalist, I myself am a Patriot, that doesn't mean to go blind to the problems we face, it won't solve them, discussing and actions will!!💯 We are already over populated country, Intellects are trolled for trying to make a difference, it is too hard to have a hope in such situations. Being positive is only fine in conditions like " When you are on picknik and forget your favourite jam, but you go let's be positive we'll adjust with ketchup", being positive won't work when the world is about to be crushed due to how much humanity messed up and then your Positive Nature says " it will be fine", it won't be. You are frustrated about many issues which is a good sign of a honest person but reality has it's nature. You can't change it the way you want. You have your own thoughts and interest and that is how you're a patriot. Similarly different person has different thoughts and their interest and that is how they are nationalist. But all are comes under the same reality. When people lost in their thoughts they often become so insecure, hopeless and try to change the reality which may call various unfortunate thing. You made a question about the farmers. I don't think after being religious anybody not have to face any sufferings. What I understand about religion in Indian context, it is not like that. Infact some philosophies like Buddhist call life itself a suffering. Although there is difference between being really positive and ignorantly positive, i think why do you need to be positive or negative. See the things the way It is either positive or negative. Exactly! That's why in countries like India, instead of vaccines, medicines and hospitals, political parties (and government) should invest money only build temples. A thousand temples in every city, every block, every municipality, every panchayat. When people will start dying in millions from illnesses and viruses, only then they will kick away their faith and rush to science.
It’s good in some way that people are religious. It helps people like me to take the advantage of their emotions to carry out my political objectives in an easier and quicker way.
Religion does bring with it, its own set of problems. But following a religion is not harmful by itself, problem arises when people give their religion more importance than common sense and humanity.

What surprises me more is the fact that these statues were made so realistically that the tusk was designed like a pipe and is completely hollow from inside....i always thought there's just a small hole in the ending of the trunk for visual purposes and the rest was all solid statue only but damn, it seems like the hole goes inside the statue completely.
he is not talking about the hole in the trunk of ganesh. that hole would be too big for capillary rise to take place he is talking about the minute pores made unintentionally/ naturally occur.
I don't know but I think idol has to make very perfectly because it would be used as an energy body. For capillary action it needs very tiny and narrow pipe. So it's not that hole you are referring.
Has anyone ever heard of surface tension? Surface tension causes this capillary action in a narrow tube. If the idol is made of porous material like clay, it'll soke the liquid easily. That's why you can see that a filled clay pot has a damp surface.

Man this comment section 🔥. You have a very sensible audience base . As an atheist I didn't expected this. And what you said is true. Indians always believe in something supernatural. Doesn't even care what science has to say . I am not saying everyone should believe there is no God,which is kinda true. If you want to believe in God , believe but don't take it too seriously. It's not possible in India for the next few decades. As long as people believe is something blindly (it has got to do with psychology), superstition can never be done away with. It's something prevalent in all countries. But in India, it's over the top!

You are concerned about many problems in the present. I wanna ask you, was there not any problem in the past or will there no problem in future? I believe we are in the better position than our past.

1)The truth remains that this drinking thing stopped the very next day. There is absolutely no scienctific explanation behind a phenomenon happening once and stopping abruptly.
2) I am from Maharashtra and almost 99% of Ganesh idols here don't actually have a hole in it. For capillary action to take place, there is a requirement of a proper pipe like hole in the idols.
3) The modern young generation finds it cool to be called as atheist, so that they have a false sense of intellectual superiority over the "backward superstitious religious people". Lord Ganesha's idol drinking milk, is as likely as Jesus being resurrected in 3 days, the world being made in 6 days, or Mohammed going upto heaven in a chariot.
Before criticising Hinduism, secularists should extend the criticism to other religions too.
Bhaaii, usne sb k bare main bola hai video main, dhyan se dekho.
He just explained the facts. Par tum to 3rd class me ho ki usko bhi dato.
Usne kabhi ye to kaha nhi na ki hanuman ne suraj nhi nigla tha. Hanuman ka suraj nigle is similar to jesus resurrection. Lekin ganesh drinking milk is not
You'd have to be deaf/blind or didn't watch until he did the criticism and come up with this conclusion.
Or a monkey eating sun
World being made in 6 periods not Days. And by the way Time is relative so don't think that "day" is same as Earth Days. And talking about Mohammad going to heaven. It's a religious believe that is connected to God if he exists then it's also true.

What surprises me more is the fact that these statues were made so realistically that the tusk was designed like a pipe and is completely hollow from inside....i always thought there's just a small hole in the ending of the trunk for visual purposes and the rest was all solid statue only but damn, it seems like the hole goes inside the statue completely.
he is not talking about the hole in the trunk of ganesh. that hole would be too big for capillary rise to take place
he is talking about the minute pores made unintentionally/ naturally occur.
I don't know but I think idol has to make very perfectly because it would be used as an energy body.
For capillary action it needs very tiny and narrow pipe. So it's not that hole you are referring.
I am also a physics student and understood years back why was this happening whilst also laughing a bit on how the public went mad
3:00 😂😂
When I woke up, I didn't knew I would have to hear this today
Has anyone ever heard of surface tension? Surface tension causes this capillary action in a narrow tube. If the idol is made of porous material like clay, it'll soke the liquid easily. That's why you can see that a filled clay pot has a damp surface.
