  • Bariatric surgery is more than just a change in the anatomical make up of a patient and a reduction in their stomach size. More evidence points to the fact that Bariatric surgery is a metabolic procedure that alters the hormones in the stomach and the brain to cause a biochemical reaction that results in weight loss.
In this video, Dr. Charles Procter at Beltline Health, talks about the science behind weight loss surgery that leads to long-term and significant weight loss for many patients.

I had the Gastric Bypass in 2003. Over the years it wasn't always easy but always worth it. I started at 323 lbs keeping steady around 180 lbs, 5'9" tall and 57 years old. In my younger days, I weighed 170 lbs or less. Having the Gastric Bypass was the best gift I gave to myself 🥰 Dr. Proctor, your show "Too Large" is one of the various tools I use to keep me on track. Thank You for helping people live the life they were missing. Best Regards.

I have PCOS & & metabolic syndrome, am I correct that a bypass would be better than a sleeve for me due to my metabolic issues? I don't want to go back years later for a second surgery because the sleeve wasn't enough with my sluggish metabolism. Currently feel terrible all the time & sleep loads, but I an not given any useful meds that help boost my metabolism.
