But I always come back to the kimbo.. it fits my needs the absolute best. I am also planning to put a roof rack on my truck and have been chewing on how much of a spacer to put under the camper. I would like to know more about the "horse blanket" spacer you created... I've been following you since you did the 2 kimbo videos... Thank you again.. there's just not many quality video's out there.. Kimbo, it seems, is still a very well-kept secret. The final mod for my build will be a SherpTek flatbed.. I love my truck.
@@prjctwolf ya the jeep is around 5k and I figure a trailer would be around 3k. so with a camper I would probably be pushing the limits of the truck. power wise I don't think it would be too big of a issue but I would def need some suspension and sway bar upgrades to handle it

Did up my suspension in the of my Toyota pickup initially to carry weight such as a build bumper with tire carrier holding a 35” tire plus all of the trail gear I could think of. When I did the Chevy leaf spring conversion I opted for 3500lbs springs instead of 1500lbs. Putting in a truck camper was never a thought for this rig at all, but turns out now I have one because life gives you lemons. Camper weighs 1600lbs dry, ouch! But the truck doesn’t squat at all, since the pickup never had a rear sway bar I now have added one to help with body roll. That in itself wasn’t enough so I added a Firestone air spring kit and helped even more. On top of that the axle width also plays a part on the smaller trucks, already having a V6 e-locker in the rear I also added 1” wheel spacers to give my rig a wider stance on the pavement. All in all things turned out, my build is nowhere stock having parts from Toyota’s 84’-04’, V6, 5speed, geared down with 5.29’s, plus a 4” suspension lift on a stock solid axle frame. If I would change one thing it’s the camper, the floor is 6’8” which means no spare tire carrier and it now resides back underneath. I like the Kimbo cause it seems you can still run a carrier, but it looks taller than my current pop up, which for me in creases center gravity in the wrong way.

So I ASSume that you are cooking outdoors in this setup? If so, without a canopy, how would you do that in, wind, rain, or snow conditions? Forgive me if this has already been covered. I am a traveling hospice nurse and trying so hard to dial in a perfect rig/setup for both my career needs, and my outdoor, off-the-beaten-path, far-from-humans need to recover, and regenerate 🦋 I am in love with this camper and its simplicity, but if someone could comment on whether or not this would be a good full-time, all-season camper for me, I would greatly appreciate any guidance and opinions offered 🙏

Random question… how wide is the counter above the fridge? My Kimbo is supposed to be ready for pick up in September… and I’m looking at two burner stoves to set on that spot… Thank you..,
Hey Talon, writing from Breckenrdige. I'm picking up mine #221 in June, can't wait. I'm putting mine on a 2013 tacoma 4 door with a 4 inch lift. Besides beefier suspension, custom leaf springs, and airbags (I've already done all that) is there anything else you'd recommend I do before I pick it up. I have a big ARB bumper, no winch that I kind of want to leave on. That with my bike rack and mtn bike will really be pushing that payload but Im honestly not that worried, with all the suspension upgrades I've already done. Thoughts on that? should I at least ditch the bumper ? Stoked you got one of these! a month before I get mine, so cool!

I’ve had my Kimbo Camper since Dec 2019. Instead of step to get up into the truck bed, I opted for Toyota to put in a foot pedal that I just slide out when I want to get in and out of the camper. I have E rated tires and firestone airbags. I also put in a switch in the cab to flip on the back camera while I’m driving. At the time it cost me 200 bucks to add at car toys. I also cut a strip of wood to the section where the bed is and clamp to the wood storage cabinets. This keeps the things on the upper bunk from sliding out. I only have this hooked up while I’m driving. It would be nice to have a get together with fellow Kimbo Campers or some kind of forum to converse on. My camper is number 26. I live near Seattle. I am somewhat leery about the weight of my camper with just a stock Toyota. I would love to have some feedback on what to do to add better suspension for payload in the back without spending a fortune? 🖖
Thanks for sharing Ben! I noticed the only place owners connect is on a forum which is kind of clunky so I created a Facebook Group... hopefully we can get other owners in here - facebook.com/groups/987035651948536

@@prjctwolf ya the jeep is around 5k and I figure a trailer would be around 3k. so with a camper I would probably be pushing the limits of the truck. power wise I don't think it would be too big of a issue but I would def need some suspension and sway bar upgrades to handle it

good question. i see people doing videos on just that... avoiding getting locked in and modifying ways to get out
I guess you can just exit from the front window.

I am a traveling hospice nurse and trying so hard to dial in a perfect rig/setup for both my career needs, and my outdoor, off-the-beaten-path, far-from-humans need to recover, and regenerate 🦋
I am in love with this camper and its simplicity, but if someone could comment on whether or not this would be a good full-time, all-season camper for me, I would greatly appreciate any guidance and opinions offered 🙏

Random question… how wide is the counter above the fridge?
My Kimbo is supposed to be ready for pick up in September… and I’m looking at two burner stoves to set on that spot…
Thank you..,
How big is the water tank?
What's the material on the walls? Almost looks like a carpet/velvet material. Maybe you could mount the one wheel with a pegboard or something.
It’s kinda like Alcantara. Not sure what it actually is called tho haha
Is there a short bed crew cab version?
He re geared also.

It’s actually been a long time coming
Dope, a product no one really has!
How many things are actually connected to the Ecoflow Pro and how? Whats on the 12v car plug and whats on the 2 dc 5221? Thanks

You don't need wide extended side view mirrors?
All you need now is a welcome mate and a sign out front with your names on it.
Kimbo recommends a airbag on the suspension did you get that?
