#RazerBlade15 #SamsungG9 #SimRacing Наука
I had an opportunity to try out the new Razer Blade 15 2021, so I did something different with it 😬

Do you think the monitor works for sim racing with a gaming laptop with a gxt 1650?
I don’t need the best settings. I buy it because of immersion in F1 2021 Cockpit view.
Thanks
On the FPS chart, you have three bars for each game and quality setting. What do each of those bars represent?
Thanks for the video. I cannot get my razer blade 14 dgpu to connect to my Samsung Odyssey G7 through usb-c to DP 1.4. do you have a solution?
Great video. I think I need the same cable. I have a msi gs76 360hz intel i9 & Nvidia 3070. No display port only hdmi 2.1, thunderbolt 4 and USB-C 3.2 type a with DP. Which cable would be best for me if I'm looking to get the same G9 monitor?
Yeah, just get that cable and you're good to go.
Great review! Thanks so much! This is exactly what I'm looking to do. Need a workhorse that'll do a little of everything for me, CAD, video editing, Photoshop, sim racing, and portability is a must. These laptops are getting so powerful and I really don't need to game on ultra 4k. 1080 mid to high will be substantial. The seat time is more important to me over the eye candy. Do you recommend additional cooling of the laptop for longevity? A special stand or even just a fan blowing on it? I'll wear a headset so I don't even care about the noise.
Glad this helped you out! I know that it's a bit of a niche scenario, but It was really interesting for me to explore!
More cooling is always better in the long run, so if it doesn't make any difference to you noise-wise, feel free to go for it!
After watching your whole video, I have a question...
I notice at some points you are mirroring your game on the laptop and on the monitor and other times you have the monitor with a black screen and only displayed on one screen.
Does one way or the other improve performance?
I am using a micro to regular Displayport cable. I setup my Samsung (LC49RG90SSNXZA) ultrawide monitor as the main display and my Razer Blade (2019 RTX 2070 Max-q) has a black screen when in use. I've noticed a pretty significant performance hit in my favorite game _Rocket League._
Does mirroring displays improve or hurt performance in game?
I haven't tried mirroring displays yet and I am frustrated that some games are unplayable for me now because the performance is so BAD. I've even considered using a Displayport cable and HDMI so see if I can play _Rocket League_ on my new monitor. I used to limit my framerate at 16:9 1080p just to help keep my laptop cooler because I would get 200+ fps in game. Now I barely get 60fps and it dips into the 30s regularly.
I am also in disbelief that _LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga_ is unplayable. Lego games are usually really simple games. I get 30fps in the menu!
There’s should be little to no difference in performance!
Mirroring is like a 2% performance hit maybe not even. Your PC only renders the video once, it's just copying what is displayed when mirrored so it takes little to no power.
It sounds like there's something more going on here, like your PC is minimizing the application and limiting it to 60 fps, or your displays refresh rate isn't set up properly in windows.
I had a single 27" 1440p monitor on a 3070 desktop, and recently added a 32" curved 1440p via display port, and ran an hdmi from the gpu to my 49" 4k LG TV and while having all displays on and connected I'm only seeing a 5-10fps decrease at times when mirrored onto either of the other screens.
Definitely dig into your settings and see what you can find out, if you're on a laptop it could be a power consumption setting in windows as well.
As I read the rest of the comments I see you posted also referring to the battery usage settings and that did not solve your issue either.
Upon further reading I would suggest checking the data transfer speed of your mini-DP cable as that may be what is limiting performance.
Lastly I realize how long ago these comments were made hopefully you have resolved this by now and if not best of luck !
@@lupo1237 So I ended up having another issue at the time of my comment but didn't know it at the time...
So I took a break from gaming for awhile because I didn't want to reconfigure my workspace to allow playing games when I needed the setup for work. I did play lower demanding games like Banished for a little bit which worked great still. It was too much hassle to disconnect all the cables and re-setup the laptop for games. So I took a break from gaming. (Which in hindsight wouldn't have worked either.)
About a few weeks after my issue I had a different issue or so I thought. My laptop kept switching from charging and not charging over and over again. So I bought a new charger off of Amazon and I was back to work.
About a month ago I fired up Rocket League to give it another try and it worked flawlessly on my new monitor! All I can figure is that under load the power brick was not functioning properly and cycling power on and off to the laptop. Because the game was running full screen I never saw that I was on battery. And when I closed the game the laptop was back to plugged-in mode as normal. But like I said the issue got worse to where it cycled all the time with normal use.
My new charger is an off-brand charger and I have had the same symptoms when the plug gets a little loose. I was in-game in Rocket League the other day and it started glitching and lagging like before. I pushed the power cable in a couple millimeters and it was working again.
I played Horizon Zero Dawn yesterday for an hour or so and it worked great (when I lowered the resolution to 3840 x 1080).
Problem solved.
Do you think an RTX3070 is good enough gpu for the Samsung G9??
For 120-144 FPS/Hz, yes!
My FPS is capping out at 60fps. I have it connected via usbc to dp. Is it the cable?
Do you know which cable revision do you have?
Do you can activate g sync? 💪 I have a msi laptop with 3070 and i have monitor compatible with g sync but g sync not work. Maybe with this cable work
Same here. Trying to find the best cable for my msi laptop i9 Nvidia 3070. Did you figure it out?
You cannot game while on battery. The Razer Blade 15 does not put out enough power to play demanding games while on battery life. I do own the 2019 model (RTX 2070 Max-q) however, so if I am wrong someone can correct me. I've tried playing Rocket League while on battery power and I messed with every battery setting I could find and it took a HUGE hit on performance. It was as bad, if not worse than playing RL on Nintendo Switch undocked.
I also just bought a Samsung 49" super ultrawide 1440p 120hz monitor. My poor little 2070 can barely handle modern demanding games. Even Rocket League stutters now. I did finish playing the _COD: Modern Warfare (2019)_ campaign and it played amazingly well and with good framerates at 32:9. I think some games are just better optimized.
I just installed and tried playing the _LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga_ and even after turning down all the graphics and the resolution it still played like crap on my baby 2070. It is currently unplayable for me on my new monitor.
Time for an external graphics card or maybe I'll build a new PC again. I sure love this monitor for work and games! I have an Oculus Quest 2 and the big wide screen reminds my of VR in some weird way. I highly recommend super ultrawides but I also HIGHLY recommend a computer that can actually light all them pixels!
What an Unterrated channel
Nice job
Thanks man, really appreciate it!
