    Kirk's responsible for some of Metallica's best riffs - the bridge riff of 'Creeping Death' is something he wrote as a teen, the pre-chorus riff of 'Master of Puppets' (the 'Come Crawling Faster..' riff) and the bridge riff of 'Damage Inc' are just a few examples.

      @xurxo12 7 лет назад +17

      Viss 8xM totally. i think the whole iphone story was just bullshit, he went through a tough time in his marriage lately so I'm sure he was not that much into the band those days so he just hadn't quality material so he came up with that stupid stuff. Just my thoughts BTW, who knows what really happened
      he felt left behind having no credits on this album so his hunger for writing is huge again, and that's good for all of us.

    • @Fernus8
      @Fernus8 7 лет назад +13

      BurnBabyBurn! Yeah, I personally don't know what happened, so for me he just didn't contribute to the album which is sad. But I agree a 100% with you on his hunger for writing.

    So cool to get a chance to see them working on a song from moment zero, with James composing some harmonies on the spot and then Lars coming in with some beats.
    After loosing his phone and all those riffs Kirk is really trying to make a change and instead of letting the riffs pile up, his bringing them to the band right away and working on them. The whole band I think is really in a song writing mood, Robert recently said their only problem is having too many ideas and narrowing them down. Perhaps they also wanna quicken their album release cycle..duh.. "Hardwired" was the last song written and it was done in 2 weeks, so perhaps they wanna keep going with that.

      Gideon Buiting Of course! I became an instant fan the moment I first heard them. One article a few years ago labeled them "the new Metallica". I fully disagree. They're one of a kind.

    If they announced they were cancelling the rest of their north American tour, to focus on the next album, to have out by the fall... I would be cool with that, as long as they made up the dates later. O.K. go!

    realy like that riff, it rocks \m/
    some suggestions:
    get rid of that guitar tone...Metallica needs something heavy again
    make Lars practise. Each day, a lot. Love his style, but shit he simply isnt good anymore

      terriblecertainity He still has all his talent tbh, it's just that he's old. trust me, if you played the living shit out of your arms for 30+ years, they'd get tired too

    The riff sounded great, i certainly couldn't cope in Kirks situation, he's probably got an abundance of great ideas, i would do solo records if i was him.

    I think the movie Kirk is talking about is "The Salvation" with Mads Mikkelsen.
