I've got the original 2001 Platinum edition F250, 4x4. I've had it for 23 years and it's been a great truck. Everyone I know have been through multiple trucks, but my ole 7.3 is still purring like a kitten.
You've got a beautiful truck! I bought a '99 F250 (with the ZF6) this past spring, and even thought it's a 2wd it's awesome. Watching this video makes me glad I bought it, hopefully it'll last for a while (it's already got 328k miles, but it runs like a top lol)
I'm being gifted my grandpas ol 2001 7.3, I'm super excited! Though I gotta know, I've heard these trucks are super easy to break into, and I live in a car theft prone area. Is there anything you'd recommend to prevent theft? Thanks, your truck is super clean! Same color as my grandpas :D
What are those rims and tires that you have on there? And did they fit without having to do a lift and not rub? I have a 99 super duty and it has the stock 16 inch rims with I believe 33s for the stock tires. Or something like that I would like to put a nice new set of rims on mine and a little more meaty tires but was told if I even go up to 35 they’re gonna rub I have a leveling kit which I believe is 2 inch but I’m still worried 35s are gonna rub. Any suggestions?
@@DaveofAllTrades75 I have a 2” leveling kit and 35x12.50 bfg mud tires on 11-16 lariat stock wheels, zero rubbing. I do have 2” spacers for better stance, without them it will rub at full lock, you have to turn sharp af and it barely rubs then, so spacers are optional
I’m looking at a 96 f350 crew cab it’s in great shape but has over 300k on it for a little over $20k? It has custom interior and some upgrades looks well maintained but still wondering it that price worth it with that many miles?
I don't care what anyone says, but the lights on top are cool. I bought a 2017 living in the rust belt helped make the decision. Ive done all of the reliable upgrades. These trucks will last if you treat them right 👍
@@nick7.3 I had a 2014 Ford raptor that was paid off with 185,000 miles but super clean zero rust and perfect service records I got 20k trade In off of the truck they we asking $55,000 for and I got them to come down more or else I wouldn't have done it either. My 2017 6.7 had 58,000 miles
Love my 01 manual but it’s 2wd and can’t find a 4 inch lift for it and I’m about to run it off a cliff cause it seems like it’s the only truck that only has one lift for it and it’s a 6”
You said you just had it leveled and 35s fit? Of course you have the newer tires but do you think if I got my truck leveled and put wheel spacers on it would fit also your is so

I bought one from a local scraper for 1200 in good shape the paperwork in the the trunk says it had a motor rebuild a year prior total bill was 18.000 I has 260 000 km on it
Everything is bolt on, you will need: 2005-2007… Headlights Bulbs Front bumper Grille Header panel 99-03 to 05-07 headlight conversion harness. Everything bolts on, took me roughly 30 mins very easy, the “header panel” is the fiberglass piece that bolts to core support that the grille and headlights mount to.
@@bigbasspro2656 I had to get new bolts due to rust. Its a clip holding 2 bolts with 2 nuts on each side, if your trucks clean your fine, same bolt hole spots and hardware to switch to this bumper
@@Rxkl391 about a gallon of base coat +gallon of reducer and I bought a 1 gallon kit of clear with a quart of hardener used about all of it I have some base left too
@@Rxkl391 a good rule of thumb is 12 ounces of sprayable base coat per panel on a color change, if your doing same color you will need less, if you are using a cheap paint you may need more
97 7.3 is the best, here in commie-fornia. The better option due to not having to smog and install any performance parts you want as long as you are willing to drive to Nevada to get em. Lol
Depends what truck you have owned, if you maintain them you will be ok, also any engine over time will leak oil, first thing I did on my truck is pull the engine and replace every seal and gasket on it and now Ive put 6k miles on it without any oil leaking
@@nick7.3 I’ve owned 3 7.3 with in the Time period of 17-31, never pulled motors on them but did a lot of work to them, last year I got a nice 6.7 and the thing is a work horse and no leaks yet. With in the first 300 miles I took off all the garbage and did the necessary upgrades.

from about the mid 80s to 97 all those parts for the most part are just interchangeable like the super duty's meaning all 7.3 have great customization

I have a 02 and placed the newer model 20” oem wheels. Looks great, just need wheel spacers as offset is different. Will rib without them.
Yes sir correct, I drove my 6.0 and old 7.3 for 2 years without spacers just little bit of rub
I love the new 20" wheels. The only problem with them is that they don't use real chrome anymore and they start chipping off after a few years.

Yes I have a 2” rough country level, 2” rough country spacers, 2011-2016 20” lariat stocks on 35x12.50 BFG tires fits great no rubbing
