I owned a Honda City manual earlier for ~6 years, the iVECT WAS AWESOME no comparo.. now I own Carens LUXURY plus petrol 7DCT done 12k kms and I just love it the way it pulls on the highway, no fatigue, the mileage (~15 to 16 with full push driving :P) the space and comfort are just next level. It has improved even more after the 1st major service. MotorOctane team recommend us this vehicle. thanks :)
Got Delivery 2 days back with the same Carens model 1.4 G Turbo Petrol 7DCT, Imperial Blue color looks awesome and gives 2 shades like black and blue. Loved the Car.

I have diesel Luxury variant, driven more than 3k kms, very happy overall with the car in terms of driving experience, recently got the mileage of 22 on expressway for 40kms, and around 18 for a trip of 500km
Are you happy with its build quality?
And how is its performance on hills with all seats occupied, does it feel u under power?

@@travler360 build quality feels good, felt disappointed when it scored only 3 stars in recent crash test. I do not feel underpower even on hills.

Prestige is the best variant coz it gets all the 3 engines and also all the important features we need in a car
Correct, Prestige plus model doesn't have 1.5 naturally aspirated engine. It's also very expensive than Prestige model.

I had cancelled my carens booking after price hike in April & since then didn't buy any other car. But your video compelled me to again book carens today, went for prestige plus imperial blue:)
It's build quality is below par. Not a safe car. Will not score more than 3 stars in a crash test for sure.
You will regret soon. Kia does not care for its customer. Go for Japanese or European . Kia is in hurry..

I have luxury plus 1.4 DCT. Imperial blue. Smooth and fun to drive. Very comfortable. Only downpoint is not a good steering feedback but otherwise no complaints.

Its a worth considering car but i would love if kia launches sorento like fully 7 seven seater suv..coz that is the only variant where kia doesn't have any car till now and seeing their market to product ratio they would have nailed if they launch that like they does with seltos and carens 💯

Features, size, space..these things anyone can find out by visiting showroom. As a motor expert you should also talk about build quality, material used for frame structure, how the quality is different for one which is made in India vs same variant available outside in other countries. As an expert you want people to view your videos , like them and purchase these cars, Have seen so many videos where evryone talking good abt seltos, but recent accident where car got splitted into two halves speaks the reality.

I approach for your expert second opinion for my observation in my car Caren
1). Engine oil filled by service centre more than max. Level
On drawing their attention, they say don't bother.
Read somewhere that excess engine oil can damage system.
Is it true ? And does it applicable to Caren.
2). Normally observed cabin as well engine of a petrol car is sound.
But in Caren it is noisy.
Like to know Is it normal in Caren bcoz Service people does not find unusual.

1) It's a wonderful car. Looks premium. The only issue is "waiting period". The value for money model "Prestige" waiting period is 1.5 years☹️☹️.
2) Recently prices were also increased around 80k.
If Kia will not increase it's supply then people will move back to Ertiga.
It's a nicely styled tin can, don't go for it.

Very smartly you skipped the structure integrity of kia or simply built quality
Safety is also about how strong your car structured alongside airbags EPS Traction control etc

Build quality is generally better in hyundai than Tata or Mahindra. Probably where they lack is the structural strength of their cars internal frame.
@@tanmaysinha9632 you are not required to conduct a crash test before testifying car as safe, research is needed in platform framework and amount of high tensile steel used etc which need some efforts.
I can quote all safety features from brochure but not expected from auto experts to quote same.
See Global NCAP scores of kia, structure strength is very poor but here out experts are busy in reading safety features from brochure and declaring it safe car as it offer all safety features from base model 😀

Hi, What would you prefer between MG Hector and Kia Carens, considering all the aspects as the best value choice with luxury.
For those planning on 1.4 Turbo Petrol Manual, an eye opener.
There is a design flaw where there is pickup issue in first and second gear, specially when going on an incline and slotting from 1st to 2nd. It's VERY UNSAFE to drive on hilly areas. It even struggles on the ramp of car parking area.
Second issue is Hill Assist, which do not disengage on pressing accelerator, but takes its own sweet time of 2/3 seconds.
Kia is promising an update to fix, but who knows when.
Pls do a thorough test drive on inclines, or better yet go for another brand/car.

Yes as it's still better than most competition. Gncap hasn't awarded extra points for safety features which actually help in real world
I've booked prestige plus 1.4 turbo petrol manual 2 days ago. I know it's a 3 rated car. But they have clearly mentioned that upperbody safety was good as per their standards. low rating is due to average safety for legs . I understand every body part is important. But I've choosen carens because of my requirement. I don't drive daily. I drive to other states on vacations may be once per month. But i drive in cities often.
3 stars doesn't make a car unsafe, it just makes it less safe than the cars with a higher score. According to NCAP 3 star is a satisfactory safety rating. However at this price point and what the competition has to offer, 3 star is still a disappointing result.

Avoid 1.4 turbo petrol manual..ull face turbo lag....either book 1.4 turbo DCT or blindly go for 1.5 Diesel it's a safe bet✔️

I have recently purchased Kia Caren Turbo Engine - Petrol.
Would like to understand whether the below phenomenon are a regular ones or not.:
a] On initial ignition of engine, RPM goes directly to 1.2 - 1.3 and stays there for one minute before descending to 0.7 RPM (note that the car is at standstill at this point in time)..
Like to know is this a regular phenomenon?
b] On Instrumental Cluster, the reading of outside temperature generally varries between 45 C and upwards noticed before stopping the engine.
Like to know, whether this is feasible and appropriate fact?
c] After having driven the car in Mumbai city for around 1100 km including a long drive to Lonavala, got an average of only 5 to 7 km. in the city (excluding Lonavala trip).
Would like to know whether this number is resonable. Am personally not comfortable with these numbers. How can these be improved upon?
I write to you to know whether above noted number are representative of some grave issues in the car or not.
Do, note that my first service was done on completion of one month and Odometer reading was around 700 km then.

Depends upon your driving... If you drive frequently... Diesel is better and diesel is better than petrol on performance too
And automatic never gives better performance than a manual
petrol automatic is the fasted trim you can get in xuv

well, If you haven't bought already the upgrade is worth it. Really regretting for choosing prestige plus cuz the feel of the cabin is totally different on luxary varient.

You are requested to make a video on its 1.5 petrol NA engine. As there is not a single video on the Internet about this engine in Kia.
I have booked it in March. But till now no update.
Kindly help me out. Like should I wait for it or go with any other option. Because I have heard that Kia is going to discontinue this engine from carens or they will increase the price soon.
And For your information I don't like ertiga & XL6 is 6 seater. I need 7 seater.
Budget under 12 lacs.
