I have booked Astor because I liked the suspension, steering response and premium build inside and outside, but the wait time is 12 months. But if you are a large family go with Carens, it has less wait period anyway.

An update on my questions. We got our car and it's been over a month. So the answers for my questions follow: 1. Diesel engine is best in this car. That's what we went for. The power is really good. Torque is high so it can pull really well, you can feel the pull. 2. The car is well planted on the ground, but won't recommend turning on high speeds. 3. Cruise control is superb, it increases and decreases the speed according to uphill and down slope. 4. Apart from the luxury model, the speakers in the car are very basic, definitely get it changed. You can obviously get the seat covers changed depending on ur preference. The halogen headlights are bad, not so bright so get led lights instead. You will be getting LED in the top model I think. The Tyres are good enough too if you going for at least the prestige plus model, that's what we got. You get alloy wheels from that model, rest all models below are steel rim. DRLs also start from Prestige Plus model. No Fog lamps though. Install them later

XUV 700 you'll get only base model at around 16 lakhs which is again 5 seater in base model. Harrier base model is 18 lakhs. So was very confused. If u can squeeze budget then these two cars are good.

Do you think that the handling will improve with wider tyres? 215/60/r16 profile perhaps? Since, it will have almost identical tyre wall ratio, but wider profile should help.
Not possible because all our goods vehicles run on diesels. The govt. may, at worst, stop renewals for only those diesel vehicles which have run at least 10 years and not the new cars. That's my prediction. So, not to worry!

Company's claim 1.5 is 15.70 Real world it would be 13.20 Company's claim 1.4 turbo is 16.70 Real-world would be 14.40 And the main thing mileage varies depends upon the rider. If rider rides smooth and don't rev the engine unnecessary then mileage would be pritty nice. So, right now choice is yours for which variant you want to go with.

Not possible because all our goods vehicles run on diesels. The govt. may, at worst, stop renewals for only those diesel vehicles which have run at least 10 years and not the new cars. That's my prediction. So, not to worry!
