It's good that Innova Crysta will get a kick on its back side. Toyota is selling overpriced antique technology in the name of quality. Its high time they start giving features in the car and not fleece customers. Carens is definitely going to eat into Innova market
Yes, but don’t forget Innova suffers from higher taxation for using bigger engine. Reason why Carens will undercut Alcazar is largely because of lack of 2.0 l Petrol engine.
I feel this is a good for those who wants to upgrade their vehicles after owning wagon R, or any hatch backs.. but definitely not an alternate for those who have already driven the bigger n powerful engines.

1.4 turbo gives 11Kmpl in city and 1.5 natural aspirated engine gives 10kmpl? Dude i drive a turbo Baleno rs and my dad drives the new swift. I know the mileage difference btwn them. Give us the true mileage recorded in the turbo car. I bet you it will not be more than 7 or 8.
now there is a government rule which says for a car able to carry 8 or more passengers the manufacturer has to give 6 airbags as standard so from now all cars like ertiga, innova, etc will be updated and will give 6 airbags as standard i think (im not sure of which cars this law applies to so you can recheck)
It is not a law yet. It is a proposal, and it is not for 8 passengers or above. It is for ALL cars upto 8 passengers. If it is made law, even Alto will also have to give 6 airbags
Ertiga is not 8 seater bro, only Innova is. In fact even Fortuner is not 8 seater. Non-captain seats version of Innova is the only car in India with 8 seats under 30 lac AFAIK. Even Safari is 7 seater.
For those planning on 1.4 Turbo Petrol Manual, an eye opener. There is a design flaw where there is pickup issue in first and second gear, specially when going on an incline and slotting from 1st to 2nd. It's VERY UNSAFE to drive on hilly areas. It even struggles on the ramp of car parking area. Second issue is Hill Assist, which do not disengage on pressing accelerator, but takes its own sweet time of 2/3 seconds. Kia is promising an update to fix, but who knows when. Pls do a thorough test drive on inclines, or better yet go for another brand/car.

Automatic mai you will notice power diff when compared to petrol due to some reasons like the auto transmission is heavier than an automatic transmission plus we should also consider things like gear ratios might be different plus auto trans is electronically controlled so there will be some delay and all..
I am a safari owner. Happy with the vehicle . But, I really apprecite how Kia and Hyundai gives a fresh feel inside every vehicle. Basically, If we see Nexon, altroz, punch all basically have almost 60-70 perecent same design in interiors which these south korean companies completely differentiate in there vehicles.

Secondly, when comparing with other 7 seaters in the 20-22 lakh price point, you mentioned the XUV 700 twice, but have left out the very capable Safari altogether, which the Carens cannot hold a candle to !! Unfair from the viewer perspective. 20-22 Lakhs is simply overpriced for this MUV.. The XUV 700 / Safari beat it by miles. The placement of the air purifier looks like an afterthought ... Arre .. Isse to lagana hi bhool gaye .... Acha... Put it behind the driver seat !! It would have been better to put it under the driver / co-driver seat and put the control panel somewhere suitable / accessible in the cabin. KIA knows the engine / powertrain limitations, and is therefore, pitching it as an MUV.. Smart move, learning from the Alcazar flop show. The rear chrome strip and the overdone hatch door styling look horrendous.. Overall.... If I wanted a 6/7 seater today, without waiting for light years, the Safari's mid variants shine all through !
I have one question. If you notice the upper part of the grill has no opening(just the design) and instead they have given a lare opening below the number plate area. Don’t you think that lower area will catch a lot of dust/water given the front grill opening is so low?? Not sure if this can be an issue. Please respond, I’ve booked this car but am skeptical about this issue.

This and the Seltos are the only formidable options against the Hyundai Creta which is way overpriced right now. At least in my opinion. What about you guys?
Over priced... To cheat people 18 variants . ..As usual sub standard Korean quality like seltos and sonet. From base to टॉप models Over priced by 2-4 lakhs... for example 7 star diesel (2nd varient) priced Rs1.35 Millon(on road) and it is missing features such as 1) GNCAP safety rating. 2) rear defogger 3) power windows (Rear) 4) electrically retractable (foldable) OVRM 5) Fog lamps 6) engine stop start buttons. Only a taxy driver mentality person will buy it. It's bloody dubba. On 4 wheels. No safety rating. 18 varients to confuse the customer to sell car.. After test drive I experienced both diesel and petrol models have very poor pick up.
The only miss is a powerful engine which could struggle with fully loaded. Lets say innova crysta comes with same 1.5 liter engine with same bhp then the pricing would be same, so in that case i dont really see any benefit is passed to customer by KIA
Atleast they could have provided 1.6 diesel engine .... Where Hyundai used to give in their verna 1.6 crdi 1.5 diesel with 114 bhp is really struggling mainly in steepy roads Also with fully loaded passenger and luggages. We have to surely downshift Carens for overtaking large trailers .... Since 114 bhp is at 4000 rpm ... So with each gear there is a turbolag evident . May be atleast this 114 bhp they could have brought in 1500-4000 rpm ( early to mid rpm ,so that atleast this 114 bhp could have brought strong pull and mid punch ) But if they had done this , they can't bring mileage like 16 kmpl . Really Toyota to be appreciated in engine calibration. 2.4 L with 150 bhp @ 1500-4000 rpm , thats why full loaded crysta still pulls like a work horse. Early rpm itself we reach that 150 bhp . Inspite of this , they still managed to bring fuel efficiency around 10-15 kmpl . But crysta other things like interior are very low quality for such 30 L cost . Either company is doing cost cutting in technology area or giving good technology( but still compromise in features ) for way too costly pricing. Thanks all to the indian government and their stupid taxation.

Rachit, can you please make a video of comparison between Nexon xz+ and Kia caren. I know both are from different segments but if someone is having budget around 15-16 Lacs and wants a big car like carens and power like Nexon which one should he go for. Also there are only C type charging point in second and third row. What if someone is having regular charger bale phone. And the last thing, can Carens cruise on 160 kmph with adequate stability? The pricing is a scam by Kia Motors. No point in trying to do the comparison by including them in the mix. The base variant is not available. They will tell you that it is available after 1 year only. This is true at Bangalore and Chennai. I am sure the situation is same all over India. They need to be reported to the consumer courts for action. There is no car available for delivery with the introductory price of 8.99 lakhs. It is misleading the customer and generates a lot of free press, and primarily designed to attract walk-ins. They just force you to go for the higher priced models. Will the consumer courts prevent them from printing ads which are not true?? It is just a pricing tactic designed to cheat the customer. Does the base model even exist. It is probably only on paper.....
What I am not understanding since morning today is that how all leading auto journalists, channels, everyone is quiet on the never ever heard before act of Kia India w.r.t price increase to the tune of 7% on certain models. Either, everyone is scared going against Kia and jeopardizing their future deals with Kia OR Kia has somehow gotten the search results restricted on youtube, google etc. Along with the act Kia has done, I am baffled by this aspect as well. @@DrViper007 you did not mention the name like punch, altroz and nexon. Everyone knows about tata's build quality. Staying in India you should appreciate tata's effort. Mahendra and Tata are the best. Xuv 700 and xuv 300 also 5 star ⭐ rating.

From base to टॉप models Over priced by 2-4 lakhs... for example
7 star diesel (2nd varient) priced Rs1.35 Millon(on road) and it is missing features such as
1) GNCAP safety rating.
2) rear defogger
3) power windows (Rear)
4) electrically retractable (foldable) OVRM
5) Fog lamps
6) engine stop start buttons.
Only a taxy driver mentality person will buy it. It's bloody dubba. On 4 wheels. No safety rating.
18 varients to confuse the customer to sell car..
After test drive I experienced both diesel and petrol models have very poor pick up.
The only miss is a powerful engine which could struggle with fully loaded. Lets say innova crysta comes with same 1.5 liter engine with same bhp then the pricing would be same, so in that case i dont really see any benefit is passed to customer by KIA
At least they have something between XL6 and Innova. Though it’s sad Marazzo is not getting enough sales.

1.5 diesel with 114 bhp is really struggling mainly in steepy roads
Also with fully loaded passenger and luggages. We have to surely downshift Carens for overtaking large trailers .... Since 114 bhp is at 4000 rpm ... So with each gear there is a turbolag evident . May be atleast this 114 bhp they could have brought in 1500-4000 rpm ( early to mid rpm ,so that atleast this 114 bhp could have brought strong pull and mid punch ) But if they had done this , they can't bring mileage like 16 kmpl .
Really Toyota to be appreciated in engine calibration. 2.4 L with 150 bhp @ 1500-4000 rpm , thats why full loaded crysta still pulls like a work horse. Early rpm itself we reach that 150 bhp . Inspite of this , they still managed to bring fuel efficiency around 10-15 kmpl .
But crysta other things like interior are very low quality for such 30 L cost .
Either company is doing cost cutting in technology area or giving good technology( but still compromise in features ) for way too costly pricing.

Rachit, can you please make a video of comparison between Nexon xz+ and Kia caren. I know both are from different segments but if someone is having budget around 15-16 Lacs and wants a big car like carens and power like Nexon which one should he go for. Also there are only C type charging point in second and third row. What if someone is having regular charger bale phone. And the last thing, can Carens cruise on 160 kmph with adequate stability?

The pricing is a scam by Kia Motors. No point in trying to do the comparison by including them in the mix. The base variant is not available. They will tell you that it is available after 1 year only. This is true at Bangalore and Chennai. I am sure the situation is same all over India. They need to be reported to the consumer courts for action. There is no car available for delivery with the introductory price of 8.99 lakhs. It is misleading the customer and generates a lot of free press, and primarily designed to attract walk-ins. They just force you to go for the higher priced models. Will the consumer courts prevent them from printing ads which are not true?? It is just a pricing tactic designed to cheat the customer. Does the base model even exist. It is probably only on paper.....

What I am not understanding since morning today is that how all leading auto journalists, channels, everyone is quiet on the never ever heard before act of Kia India w.r.t price increase to the tune of 7% on certain models.
Either, everyone is scared going against Kia and jeopardizing their future deals with Kia OR Kia has somehow gotten the search results restricted on youtube, google etc.
Along with the act Kia has done, I am baffled by this aspect as well. Just shows very clearly that how "news" can be manipulated so easily and behind the scenes.

it may be a feature packed car but as I took a test drive I could clearly find out that its tin can body and secondly resale value is worst..... The day I buy Kia cars the price would fall by 50% if I want to sell it the next day
