Really, who told you Watsonville sucks? It's not exactly cheep there anymore and hasn't been for a long while now. It's just another mostly working class town. Btw there's lots of Cheep Hispanic areas in Texas (like Alabama cheep!) and New Mexico don't you know?
I lived in Watsonville, went to school there. I lived on top of 152 / Hecker Pass from 1965 to 1972. Worked at Montana Inn Restaurant, when it first open.
Watsonville includes beach areas of La Selva Beach, Manresa and Sunset, all with multimillion dollar homes and beach access, also a number of luxury communities in the hills of Corralitos and the Larkin Valley area. Watsonville borders Aptos and include scenic wineries and hillside estates. Downtown Watsonville IS historic with many farming businesses that settle there. Although it is mostly hispanic now, it has a great history of Japanese and Croatian immigrants settle here. It is an older community with lots of history.
The high prices are based on speculation for demand from the few high paid tech workers and others, and those with Silicon Valley real estate equity (including large numbers of working class Latinos btw!), and not local incomes, which is why there are few current sales..

You guys missed Ketts Castle! Yes, an actual castle! 🏰 It's gorgeous. It's semi surrounded by it's own lake called Kelly Lake. Check it out next time. Otherwise it's a nice town. It has a few beaches, redwoods in Mt.Madonna state state park, very nice sloughs to hike next to. You can kayak and go whale watching in Moss landing which is the next town over. Besides that Monterrey and Santa Cruz are more touristy. It's way too expensive to buy a house for most ppl here. We'll see what the future holds. Cheers.
When we have 5 Starbucks, county charges 10 cents a cup three Mc Donald’s. Also Santa Cruz county charges you for having your own well. “PVWM” shows you how corrupt this city , county are.
And don't get me wrong watsonville is rich with history, And there are beautiful homes there especially the victorians. You guys did miss a lot of the neat streets. And they do have amazing food, My favorite was always Tepas Although i'm not sure if it's still there.
When I attended high school in '56 through 58, Taylors Hot Dog stand was where the police dept is now and hot dogs were 5/ $1. Just had a couple a week ago and now they're over $2 each.
Interesting I've never been to Watsonville but I actually haven't herd bad things about it. I know there are some gang problems and poverty and lot's of farm worker's. Lots of the working class of the area also live in Salinas, parts of Santa Cruz and in the Mountains, in Seaside, and in smaller towns nearby.
Watsonville is a country ag small town. They are known for growing delicious strawberries, artichokes and brusselsprouts. We grew up playing sports against them.Good football team in the 90s.amazing soccer program. Soccer wins section titles. Not a good town to wear blue in.
In 1980, I drove a pickup truck and camper from Watsonville to Circle, Alaska....end of the road (at the time) because of the wide and mighty Yukon River.....no bridge then. I found Drisco strawberries in some Alaskan stores.....must have been flown in. (Still have the pickup)
I looked up the average sales price of a home in Watsonville. $663,000! You gonna need a few million subscribers for that. Plus, I'm gonna guess taxes out the roof. Those are prices near my area of Bonita Springs, Fl..
if you'd turned right at Burger King that would've been poolside I believe. when I was kid the northerners and southerns would clash in a liquor store parking lot right behind the Burger King I was a small kid from sac visiting dad for the summer he was a northerner it was real knives and bats lol

Do you people really think that Watsonville is expensive? it's the cheapest city in Santa Cruz county. You guys didn't go through Martinelli street, Lakeview, Gzidich far, Pinto Lake, Sunset Beach, Palm Beach, Staff of Life, and other cool places in Watsonville.
@@christinegralow367 You clearly do not k now what you're talking about. I said it's the cheapest city in Santa Cruz county. I didn't say it was cheap. As for houses going for millions - million dollars is "cheap". You couldn't get a bathroom in Silicon Valley for million dollars. So I stand by what I said. I never said Watsonville is cheap. But it is true that it is the cheapest city in Santa Cruz county. Compare home prices in Watsonville with Santa Cruz, Capitola, Aptos, Soquel ..., you will see that Watsonville is the cheapest. But you're correct. Nice homes easily go for over million. But that is cheapest in Santa Cruz county.
"In a town where (small and terrible) houses are $600,000, people are looking in the garbage for food". That's what you get with a sanctuary city. That's not mentioning the high crime rate involving drugs and murder. Good way to ruin a town/Country.
Are you even from Watsonville? I lived in the next town over for 15 years and worked at Watsonville City Hall for 2 years. Just because it seems scary and ghetto doesn't mean its half as bad as what you assume. The homelessness there isn't even a fraction of surrounding cities. The people I know there are friendly as hell. Allot of the crime and murder comes from the outside in. Gang members travel from Castroville and Salinas in to Watsonville to shoot rivals or innocent people minding their own damn business.
There’s a whole lot of the town that you missed. A lot of newer neighborhoods and a lot of good parks. The Coralitos area too.
Pretty sure they were viewing the older part not the newer parts bud
