My dad drove a large propane truck from Cayucos to Big Sur bi-weekly for 30 years without one accident! Fun to see my friends’ businesses, & my dad’ s ranch between Cayucos and Harmony and all the familiar landmarks all the way up the coast. We often rode our bikes from Cayucos to Coast Union on that 14 mile stretch to Cambria...We were just country bumpkins loving life! Blessed to have been born & raised there! Can’t wait to go visit friends and family after this pandemic...🌺🌴
I love this video. There's something magical about this long drive by the Pacific Coast line! I cannot thank you enough. This drive brings me a lot of memories!
Awesome job. I live in Morro Bay and work on the street you drove down. Perfect encapsulation of our town. Can't wait to rewatch this 20 years from now.
Outstanding, beautiful 😍. I love the PCH from Malibu to Big Sur. It is one of the most admired Highways. Great RUclips in full length, thank you so much.
I wish you had been able to shoot this after the rainy season, when everything is green, rather than just before it when the vegetation is dormant and brown. Everything is at its most beautiful when the plants are green. Can you imagine how isolated this area was before the highway and railroads were built? My maternal great grandparents immigrated to California in the 1890's to this area when it was still an isolated frontier. They lost some children to epidemics and the general lack of medical care before moving to LA where my grandmother was born. I still have relatives in this area. It's a great drive, if you have the time, when you're going to the Bay Area. Otherwise you have to head up the San Joaquin Valley by the flatter and faster Central Valley Route. Trains roughly parallel both highways. The coast route is also a nice night drive, though beware of the fog. Especially anywhere there are tule marshes.
What do you suggest are the good months to drive after the rainy season(s)? And if one were to drive one way, which direction would you recommend? Thank you
We love morro Bay is being our place for the lost several years on Vacation, we are thinking of moving there some day, thank you for sharing this incredible video of our favorite hot spot.... they also have incredible sea food....
I go to Morro Bay several times a year and never get enough. I appreciate the drive videos so much but most of them go so fast you can't see anything but pavement. you do a good job. Thank You.
California state road, north-south along the coast of the Pacific Ocean . SR1 length approx. 1055km . Drivin this road is pure pleasure., so many intersting views. Very beautiful video, thank you for this amazing journey. Memories come back....❤
I spent too much time during the last 15 years vacationing on cruise lines. I finally drove the PCH in August of 2021. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn’t do it sooner.
This brings back such wonderful memories, of when my sweetheart and I would drive highway one & vacation in Morrow Bay. I love this so much, thank you for this video!
I did that drive, albeit longer, from LA to San Fran on RT 1. I drove a Mustang Convertible and I drove that SOB like I stole it. Top down, wind tussling my hair, the smell of the ocean, and just blasting down that road. I felt free. That was in 2016, and I still think about it.
You need a video with the camera showing the coast to the left. The coast of California is as beautiful as any in the world. The drive down Highway 1 is unsurpassed.
I accidentally took highway 1 north to San Francisco after leaving Hearst castle. When I passed Big Sur I wondered why doesn’t highway 1 curve east and cross the mountains back to the 101 freeway in green field . The mountains must be too rugged that highway 1 doesn’t loop back to the 101 in the Salinas valley after passing through Big Sur.
I had a Dear Friend that lived in Monterey for maybe 20 years. Nearly every year I'd drive up for all the "car nonsense," as his Beloved would complain , and hang out for a week or so. I always made my way up or down this route. Best on weekdays. Lower RV quotient... As I understand it now this section of Highway 1 is in dire need of repairs. The surface was never very good.
hey guys, you also get a short weird sound in your headset when you skip a couple of seconds or so in a youtube video? whenever I "jumpt" to another part of the video there is this little sound which is highly annoying.. but its in every youtube video, not just this one.. I just happen to ask it here lol. anyone knows what Im talking about?
Great video………. Is this because people can’t actually afford to drive this scenic route anymore with rising cost of fuel. This is a whole new level of virtual reality!?!?
You probably didn't notice. editing aside,, But you were "front followed" the entire trip. you were never on the road alone For more than a minute or so on your video And Given the distance of your trip that is ridiculous. it's the type of disgusting, deliberate, harassing and annoying type of behavior that I am very very familiar with as a TI unfortunately. But I hope I'm wrong 😔 All the best dear friend. Write or call me anytime.. Lyn
Lived in cayucos for 3 years...1978 to 1981.....we now go back there often...we were in morro Bay 2 days ago...best place in California 😁♥️
how old is bro 😭

Your dad had a tricky turn around behind my mom’s house! Highest respect for the propane drivers!

That's in San Francisco which is almost 2.5 hours north of Carmel Beach.
It's so beautiful there, I want to move to California.

Good video , relaxing, meditative, thank you!
Thank you for uploading. There is a lot of ocean to the left that we don't see. Think of position the camera to let us see more of the ocean :)
Must play 🎶 Beach Boys "California Saga" while driving HWY 1. 😊
My absolute favorite drive. Hope to one day live in Cayucos.

How distance?
From 16:07-16:24, what is that giant brown mound ahead?
Morro Rock. It's what's left of a volcano.
What car are you in?
Beautiful coastline, thx. May you always have enough fuel in your tank.
Amen 🙏
