Ever since I was like 7 or 8 years old I always picked a Koenigsegg in every racing game. Started with Midtown Madness 3. Huge fan of the company and of Christian in general.
I remember an old video where Christian van Koenigsegg himself used the analogy of a helmet. Sadly i can't remember which video, but I am sure it was before the Regera.
Really good breakdown of the Koenigsegg design evolution. I’m with you, as much as I’ve admired previous Koenigsegg models, I would never have called them pretty exactly. This though, it’s just beautiful. It feels like an iconic design, not just in terms of the evolution of the Koenigsegg design language, but it redefines what a hypercar can be. I truly love it.
I can't find words enough to express my admiration for the brand and it's founder. I've seen a full documentary in which Christian gives a complete tour around his factory and explains how he engineers every single part of the car according to his own incredible high standards. Just watching the process of designing and engineering a steering wheel is out of this world. He is not only a splendid engineer, he is a genius and a very humble and down to earth fellow. What more can I say?
The Gemera might be my favourite car to come out during my life. It is not only stunning, but the idea of a practical, yet sporty looking hypercar with a 3 cylinder is fascinating.
The gemera it's just marvelous. The engines, the power, the doors, the concept (i owned a same kind concept Rx8) and obviously, the design. The color choose is amazing, with that yellow interior and gunmetal outfit. Is great.
The Gemera is by far the most interesting looking Koenigsegg to me. I always love Koenigsegg designs. They never make a radically different styling for their new models unlike a lot of other companies do. Just like you said previous design elements always passed on onto the next model. Similar yet very different. Just like watching certain key features (e.g. big nose, big chin, etc) of a family evolving through new generations.
👏 Good Job Sir...I must say that I'm not a lover of wagons but that version of the car is hands down beeaauutiful..I hope the guys see this version and give it a go
@@Thesketchmonkey yeah i see it too i just think it looks strange with the window portion almost being larger than the car itself, makes me think of an oversized toy somehow i don't know why like i want to physically grab it with my hand because it's so hefty is that makes sense, i think they could solve a lot by lowering the roof but that wouldn't be practical so i don't know it just doesn't look like the top and bottom portion of the car fits together seamlessly
I'd love to see you redesign a kit car like the Superlite SL-C. It'd be interesting to the changes you'd make to a car meant to be assembled by a person in their own garage.
It's crazy how they can pull so much power and speed into a three cylinder. Makes other new 3-cylinder engines look very old. This car lives in the year 2040 already.
Koenigsegg is the premier hypercar manufacturer right now. The Koenigsegg design language is absolutely flawless. Best looking hypercars in the world in my opinion!
The Jesko excites me far more than this new model, mainly because of what it was built for...to show off the inspiration, engineering and creativity of what the whole team has to offer as a top name in the hyper car category. They chase and and achieve greatness at the leadership of Christopher!!
For me the Gemera is the most exciting car of the 21st century. I'm just speachless. Not only have Koenigsegg created a brand new market segment but they also did it is such a great way it will be difficult to top
I guessed Gemera to mean something in Swedish but the first shots of the car i saw (the front facing 3/4 perspective) made me think of Gamera, the Daiei Film studio character. Amazing this was being developed while everyone was focused on the Regera. Koenigsegg does not disappoint in terms of impressiveness in innovation and design.
I've always loved Koenigsegg cars, they are unique and there's nothing like them. With this new Gemera they literally made a car different from ANITHING else. A 3 cylinder hybrid four seater with 1700hp. I think they have just created a whole new category of cars. And I really like the styling of it!
The Gemara is a 3 cylinder with 1,700 horsepower and almost 2,600 pound-feet of torque. According to the manufacturer, the Gemara hits 62 mph in 1.9 seconds and is capable of at least 248 mph. Like bruh, they don't care if they have an inline 3, they make it a beast
The Gemera is the most beautiful 4 seater ever. If this is your first time seeing it, I suggest you look for other RUclips videos where they show how the doors work. It's beautiful.
I would also say that one of the signature silhouettes is the wave-line that goes over the wheels and under the window. It has basically the same wave from the prototype up until Gemera!
I think they beat Bugatti to the punch with this four seater. I love how the frame of the door continue over the glass (the upper portion), it looks so futuristic especially when it's the last few centimeters of the closing sequence. I love how distinguish the Koenigsegg designs are, although it's harder to reiterate on them when sketching cars compared to other manufacturers. Gillar kanalen, tycker om den ännu mer nu när jag vet att du är i Sverige!:)
This is a supercar that is as practical as the good old Volvo! Koenisegg should make a mass production of this Gemera at an affordable price to benefit families worldwide.
It's funny because I was just thinking it would kinda be cool to see the Gemera as a shooting brake/ wagon after watching the Tob Gear video. Glad I didn't have to wait long.
if you add the front window pillars to the CCX window treatment and follow the helmet profile lines it reminds me of a 1984 Saab 900 from the side view
Personally I think the Regera is the best looking Koenigsegg and one of the best looking cars on the planet. The way the lines flow so smoothly and the design of the headlights and taillights is just stunning.
Nice work there. Do you per chance have any thoughts of redesigning the Nissan GTR into a shooting brake or maybe a 3 door wagon similar to the Hyundai Veloster?
Finally, the design catches up to the engineering! Mclaren has the same problem of too-short body and this is Exhibit A why supercars look better with length. Keep it up Koenigsegg, you are now a serious player in the styling stakes. As for wagon...a step waaayyyy too far
It’s a proof of great design from Koenigsegg that all u need to do to make it a wagon is to practically use just the liquifer - the only problem is that Gemera is mid-/rear-engined :P
5:15 you didn't talk about the black line thing that bears the word CCX. It wraps around the rear to create the rear "sandwich burger" profile (I made that up) if that makes sense. It is one of my favorite trait of the Koenigsegg set it apart from the others. I'm sad it went away in the Agera.
