Great information, Baz. Very clearly explained and it certainly looks promising for BMD safe-standing.

Great explanation of how safe standing would work...and how dortmund swap the old fashioned crush barrier terracing into all seater.
The 1•5 ratio would be ideal in increasing capacity to grounds without having to build new stands.

I'm checking on these videos of rail seating because here, in Argentina, people love to watch the game standing. They like it way more than seating for some reason, so this could be a great solution in case there's some renovation in many stadiums here because of some new normative.
    Thanks for the video.

Kardinia Park in Geelong Australia has just installed some rail standing room in a grandstand redevelopment. The ration is a about a 1 to 1.65 increase.

Good explanation but absolutely no need for it. As a supporter who stood countless times on terraces through the 80’s and early 90’s and never experiencing any issues, standing was NEVER dangerous, only the fenced in “sheep” pens where and the other thing that was dangerous was funnelling thousands of supporters into isolated sections of these pens either by design or accident and causing a crush via miscommunication.
    THAT IS WHAT WAS DANGEROUS.

I think the Government have yet to approve safe standing. Celtic have it and it seems to work well. Maybe we need to lobby our MP's.

Yeah getting a 1:1.5 ratio would bring our capacity up to 58,000🔵

Bristol city fan here we're having rail seating fitted for next season, my point is it has to be 1:5 because 1:1 is pointless.

Is it that a person can sit down or stand up, or whether one person is always seated and two people standing either side?

Great. Now for Everton to make BMD with 60,000 seats regardless of SS at least we can go with a 1:1 ratio and any higher boosts the capacity. Bingo!

Do you think the Premier League/FA would give consent for teams to use rail seating? Also do you think this could be added to Goodison before the Bramley Moore move? UTT

I agree but it's still better than being told to sit down all the time by jumped up stewards on a power trip. I remember the 80s at Old Trafford when groups of mates could all stand together and create some noise..now we all split up at the stadium and sit in different blocks..your lucky if you can get 2 seats together.

with all due respect, you are wrong, dortmund keeps the old terrace (yellow wall) for champions league matches aswell...no rails, nothing. old fashion way, they only replace it with conventional seating for when germany plays (like once a year) or like we saw in the euros.
borussia dortmund will always have its yellow wall ever.
its only the snowflakes in the UK whos afraid of creating real football intimidating atmosphere, you cant even have the rails 2:1 ratio zones.

Everton need not bother UEFA cause you wont play champions league games in another decade :P
