I can’t wait to build our dream garage. I love showing my husband, your videos. You’re definitely my favorite to watch when it comes to saving money. There’s a lot of garage videos out there as well. I appreciate your effort into cutting costs.
Thank you for sharing this, I ran into the exact same problem . My door is an “economy” door hung in an aluminum carport garage and I was thinking I could fabricate it to work. Thanks for giving me the idea of what to do!
I put one on my fancier 10x10 Janus 1000. It’s a drum style and the holes in the end are small and circular. Pushed out the bracket a couple inches, and cut the end of the drum slightly to fit the prongs. Works fantastic on this heavy door.
Thanks so much for posting this comment, I couldn't find anyone mention a Janus door and what they needed to do. I haven't ordered my roll up door yet, but now I know exactly what to expect!! You rock.
@@coreysmith5397 no problem. Just make a little template of the opener and cut. Door is still solid 2yrs later and changed nothing else on the roll itself. Didn’t need a weight either.
Here to say! I was pleasantly surprised that you made this video! Super useful, and I have been following your Kubota BX upgrades for my own BX. A huge thanks!! (I’m going to copy this for sure for our new garage!) looks like it’s time for me to learn welding and cutting lol
That's an awesome product at a reasonable price. I have always waited for a concrete floor in my garage 😅 I had openers in garages but had a dirt floor. It was the first thing in the new house we bought 4yr ago it had to have a concrete floor 😅😅 no more dirt floors lol love your shop nice set up
Lucas: I was thinking of an opener for my garage but I only have a 8' x8' door and it is not heavy. I guess a bit more weight on the bottom of yours will solve the slowness issue. Take care and stay safe. PS: don't be playing with the opener. You will burn the battery out. 🤓
Seen some mods on converting overhead openers to side mount.. I don’t see any reason why this can’t be used on a regular garage door if balanced correct
I recently got this opener and have yet to install it. I first bought the Jackshaft styler opener and then realized my door had the stationary shaft. 🤦♂️ Now since I didn’t pay attention again, I have to figure out how to modify the shaft and extend it 6+ inches as mine does not have any space between the mount and the door to put this opener. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
I’ve been looking at that particular opener for my roll up door. Finding the product measurement is non existent where I’m looking. Could you tell me how thick the opener is?
d2v0huudrf11kh.cloudfront.net/vevor-center-goods/InstructionYHDO-IVnew_1652257815488.pdf They have this link to the manual on the website. It has the clearances in it. Good luck!
Mine came with instructions that put it in “setup” mode and then you used the button to roll it up and down to the points you want set, then save it. I did not save the instructions so I don’t remember for certain. I’m sorry.

Thanks for the kind words. I’ve always tried to stick to a budget and keep things affordable. I’m glad you find it helpful. 😊
Nice fab work Lucas. Always enjoy watching someone find creative solutions to problems. Nicely done.
Thanks, Buddy! I am enjoying having a remote! 😊

Lucas, check the remotes on them. Make sure if opening one door that the others doors will stay closed. Each remote wants to run on its own frequency.
That is a very good point. I will have to do some research on that.
Great, you unlocked my puzzle, thank you!

The algorithm brought me and even though I don't need an opener I watched it anyway. Great content.
Thanks!
Great job improvising and adapting!
Thanks, Bud. I am loving it.

Man, I’m glad the days of swapping a transmission out in the gravel are behind me. 😂🤣….hopefully.
I wanted to see you fine tune adjust yr opener, i put one identically on my roll up its very complicated to fine tune adjust it.
Good afternoon Lucas, thanks for sharing this information 👍
You bet! Thanks for watching!
I was looking at those just a minute ago I was wondering if it would work . Good job!

lol. I have been overworking it!
I don’t have clearance and need to extend my shaft. How do I do that?
Great job.
Thanks, Butch!

Where'd you find the garage doors?
Can I still roll my door up and down by hand after installing the device?
Yes, you just pull a rope to release it…

Yeah, it’s a pain, but after making these mods, mine has been working great.

You could put a gear on the end of the shaft and run a motor off a chain drive. Might work easier on that style of door.
You definitely can. I have seen that done. I just figured this was a cheap option and wanted to see if I could do it.
How do you set up where the start and stop points are?
Mine came with instructions that put it in “setup” mode and then you used the button to roll it up and down to the points you want set, then save it. I did not save the instructions so I don’t remember for certain. I’m sorry.
Do you know where i can buy the transmitters at i have the same opener and like to 2 get to more transmitter
I’m sorry I don’t…
So how’s it working for you after 8 months of use?
Still works like the day I installed it. I’ve been really happy with it.

7:37 in the video. it's clear as day.
Great video. Thanks much. Anyone who’s not smart enough to follow it should move on, and out. 😂
