It is quite amazing that in one album there are songs like Schwarz, Zeit, Adieu, and then there's.... THIS masterpiece :D
Yes but my favorite title is zeit ,schwarz, adieu and armee der tristen
This song has brought a huge smile to my face through the horrible news throughout the week. Music is always an escape but rarely is it just so much fun.

My best friend made the joke that Till went blind from tenderizing the meat. Lmao. It would definitely make sense. Love it you two, definitely my fav song on the album.

I really love your laughing at the end of the video, when the credits start.. so nice lovelly, the Till Hammer lol!!!
❤️
liked the easter eggs...The Till Hammer, the mini flamethrower and the kid holding holding a burned puppe.. .
The video complements the title where it's not so much about breasts in general, for the character it is, but actually it's about the happiness that you can't see.
You just have to be able to recognise and access your happiness
It's all around you what you only wish for
But if you are blind to this happiness, then you don't see it and your life remains without joy, only grey and dull, which you complain about.
The lyrical me in this video complains about exactly that and does not see the beautiful landscape, he tramples an edelweiss, he stumbles not seeing towards the abyss and does not notice that around him are all the dream women he so ardently desires.
He is struck with blindness or punished
If you're looking for happiness you just have to recognise it and grab it
That's really interesting. The lyrics without the video make it seem like people only care about another person's appearance. The video itself is interesting, do you think the guy was born blind or did he slowly lose sight of what he wanted?
@@cheapstonegd6296 Both would be possible, matter of interpretation, lost sight in old age or always been blind to his environment, other people and surroundings , but I am not a psychologist :-)
But because he is older, lonely and comes from a different generation of rather conservative patrachial environment, he now seems to be extremely helpless and bitter inside.
The self-confident women with the big breasts even try to help him hunt and guide his hand so that he hits his target.
Unfortunately in vain
He sees nothing, he is so obsessed with his one selfish desire, which he thinks will make him happy.
So that he can no longer perceive anything else around him.
He even destroys the environment by destroying rare plants that are under protection and metaphorically or figuratively walking towards the (your) or our abyss.
Perhaps a warning to us all ?
Be nice to each other, be socially interested, attentive, respect and protect our environment, then you personally will be much better off.
I totally agree with you. I kinda get upset when people just have fun watching all the boobs and don’t pay attention or don’t even look for the symbolism while it so sure that Rammstein will not release something that has no deeper meaning. Just like in Angst or Zeit. And while it’s funny song it also carries this message for us which is a key to solve many people’s problems today. It reminds me of Da Vinci’s ingenuity.
What a great interpretation!
As a non German, who visited the Alpine region many, many times, the whole setting made me think about how I have always loved being there, with the beautiful landscape and happy people singing and dancing. Yet, at the same time I was often disturbed by the conservative and double moral attitude of some people.
When I got a Dirndlkleid (traditional Tyrolean/Bavarian dress) as a gift from a nice German woman, she commented "Zu einem Dirndl gehört etwas dazu" (meaning exactly "big boobs").
With this background, I interpret the video as criticism of conservatism and double moral. The blind old man being blind of his own faults.
Also, this song is on the Zeit album, so I see it like a hint that the obsession with boobs is timeless. 😁
I like your interpretation. I think the lyrics are about a lonly man who has a sad and solitare life and says that he wants a wife, an equal to give meaning to his life. But his only criterion for choosing is Big boobs and in his entire life he never found her.
The protagonist has chosen the wrong criterion for selecting a worthy life partner. If you go through life choosing superficiality you will have a superficial life and you will end sad and unsatisfied. It's like going through life blind.
Is about people that are not able to see the essence, and sees only the form.
In the video the women doesn't only have big brests, they are strong and hardworking woman that deals with livestock, chops wood and are escencial for the village life, but the majority of people only saw their big boobs.
Joern Heitmann is a great director. You can see that he also did Auslander and Ohne Dich. And he is also the director from Zick Zack, Amerika, Mutter and Ich Will.
...and he plays the priest in this video.
Radio, Sonne, and Haifisch, too, I believe. His work is awesome.

Oh, I'm pleased to learn this, thanks!
Also the girl “beating the meat” the one “rubbing one out” on the washboard…the one cutting some wood…there were so many double entendres in the video lol

This is amazing absolutely pissed myself watching this
All the double meaning here are fun. Beating the schnitzel, milking the cow, beating cream to make butter, kneading bread, the wiener dogs near boobs,… this director always includes scenes from previous videos with them. I think the older woman sitting with flake is the same woman from “mein hertz brennt “ video, and the priest at the end reminded me of “rosenrot”…
I took the priest at the end as a grinning nod to the youtube censors and american sensitivities in general. ;) You know all this starring ... to make sure you know EXACTLY what you condemn.
Finally, someone caught the old woman wrapping yarn around Flake's hands!!
I'm really sure it's her from Mein Herz Brennt.
I saw the behind the scenes thing. She's some famous German actress as best as I can tell, someone can correct me if needed. She said working that vid was one of the best acting experiences of her life.
Till was worried about being to rough with her, but she told him to go for it.
Loved your reaction to this huge and sensitive topic.
I've done German dancing since I was a kid and there's quite a few different dances in this video; there actually is a dance where the men use two-man saws and axes and we saw and chop in time to the accordion music, with breaks in between to perform schuplattler (the leg and foot slapping dance). There is also an 'intermission' in this dance where a female dancer will come with a big stein of beer and straws and the men all take a knee and drink the beer!
There's also another dance where the men fight with backhanded slaps as shown here. It starts with one male and a female waltzing, then another guy comes up and steals the girl away. Then the other guy comes back and kicks him up the butt or slaps him upside the head (hats DO go flying!). Later in the dance a third, fourth and finally fifth male dancer join in, with one guy 'fighting' off the other four. It's this guy who usually knocks out the others and gets the girl in the end.
Unfortunately the dance group I was with - Newcastle Edelweiss - disbanded years ago when the Newcastle Germania Club closed. There's still some dance groups around Australia, but I do fear it is a dying art form. I miss those days, and it was great exercise. Also, as a kid I was teased because it was viewed as a sissy kind of dance... are they mad?! German Dancing is quiet possibly one of the most masculine forms of dance!!!
So funny to hear an australian talking about these dances. I am from tyrol, austria, 10 miles away from where they took the video for this song. People who live in the countryside still dance a lot. As teenagers our parents teach us stuff like that because we still have tons of events where we can dance like this, most of the time everyone is drunk there too.
Sadly - people from the city dont know anything about it. They dont care about stuff like that or about culture at all. Its really sad. In cities like Innsbruck everything gets lost. We all hate the cities.
The Genre of the brass music is Volksmusik (folk music). The song is pretty famous in Germany (Muss i denn). When Elvis was stationed in Germany as a soldier, he heard that song and made it famous under the title "Wooden Heart".
Rammstein are in general playing in the Industrial style. A 50-50 mixture between hard metal guitars and synteshizers.
The video was made in Austria. But Bavaria (where Munich and the Oktoberfest are located) are very similar to Austria in many ways. The clothes could be from Austria and from Bavaria (Germany). The clothes of the women are called "Dirndl".
In former times everybody was running around in Bavaira & Austria in clothes like that. Nowadays this kind of clothes are mostly worn to special happenings like religious processions and parties like the Oktoberfest and the competitions & parties of the local shooting clubs etc.
The song ist not "muss i den".
Oh, that's funny, the music video was shot in the state of Tyrol, and to be precise, in the town of Going am Wilden Kaiser, my neighboring municipality! Fun! Greetings from Tyrol Austria!

1:58. The town sign says Rammstein.
There is actually a city in Germany named Ramstein-Miesenbach.
The band called themselves Rammstein-Flugschau (Rammstein Airshow) after the 1988 Ramstein air show disaster. Guitarist Paul Landers said the spelling of Ramstein with the extra "m" was a mistake. After the band became popular, the band members denied the connection to the air show disaster and said that their name was inspired by the giant doorstop-type devices found on old gates, called Rammsteine. The extra "m" in the band's name makes it translate literally as "ramming stone". In a 2019 feature, Metal Hammer explained that the band was named after one of their earliest songs, "Ramstein", written after the air show disaster at the American airbase in Ramstein-Miesenbach.
"I am a man of culture...and I do enjoy some big tits" Folded mate, one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time. Chels's face was brilliant lol.

*Funny that you mentioned the dogs. One of the various German slang words for boob is pug. 😇🤔😈 Also: In the countryside it is customary to stack the firewood in front of the house, so if you didn't want to say blatantly, that a gal has got big boobs, you can also say in German: She's got a lot of wood in front of the cabin.*

I really want to see the making-of videos for these latest MVs they've put out. I would love to see them learning Schuhplatteln (the dance in lederhosen where they slap their legs and each other). Love Rammstein and Till.... And you ! Love from Poland !!!
The music video was actually better than I was expecting. So much fun to watch and it made me laugh even more. Every guy is a boob guy. I think the joke in the video is that Till is a boob guy but the poor bastard is blind and can't even see them LOL 🤣 I laughed when Till (with his arms crossed) blindly watched a kid do the "Till Hammer" at 3:50 and immediately got tackled. No one can do the "Till Hammer" like Till. Thanks for the fun reaction! Much appreciated.
Oh and I caught a couple sexual innuendos that you might have missed. A women using a tool "beating meat" and "pounding dough" , A woman "helping to take care of a LOG", A woman "churning butter like she's doing the deed" and it shoots out. The one who is washing clothes IDK but I'm sure there is something about that too.
Even Till being blind is an innuendo. He’s been jerking it too much lol
Man, how did I miss that he can't see boobs? But at least he can feel them, so likely influences his preferences.

I wouldn't call lust perversion.
It's not exactly polite, but it's perfectly natural.
I especially love the facial expression of Till, the "Schuhplattler-dance" and the reference to "Silence of the Lambs". Greetings from Germany 😉
P.S. The main theme from start and in the background is "Muss i denn, muss i denn zum Städtele hinaus", an old German folk music song. Even Elvis Presley performed it 1960 (Wooden Heart).

I like how you enjoy the video. Rammstein is just one of the best german bands, I love it
Just one interpretation from me: the final scene with the milk spurting out (as the maid churns butter) ... could be meant Rammstein-like as 'jizzing'/happy ending. You see Till at the very end of the credits - happy - with a partner.
Nice and best reaction 👌👍
All that he wants is around him, but he can’t see it . Sometimes we are all blind ! For Bavarian people, the plant he steps on at the end is rather sacred. It is called Edelweiss and it is under nature protection. Edelweiss is a symbol of bravery in Germany
*worth the long read* I was curious about the scene with Richard dressing up as a woman. It either gets totaly ignored by most or misunderstood. But then I found this gold piece of a comment in a different reaction video (all credit goes to the user "paranoidrodent"):
As a trans chick, Richard’s character stood out massively to me and it was pretty obvious to me that he represents an alternate sense of wanting a big breasted woman, seeking to find her in oneself rather than in another person. If Till’s character is lonely and lusty, Richard’s is isolated and envious.
The entire scene, with its experimentation in secret flavour and his looking at himself in the mirror anxiously as if discovering himself… that is really familiar to trans and non-gender conforming folks. Really damned familiar. And while his cross-dressing might seem funny if it is strange and unfamiliar, Richard’s character is easily the most serious in the video and his private exploration isn’t mocked. It just is what it is. Someone imagining himself being a well-endowed she. Sure, he gives a cleavage shake but those are common in the video. It didn’t "go nowhere" but rather he was simply done and showing him returning to a masculine presentation would have served no purpose.
It’s rare to see a neutral to empathetic depiction of the incredible awkwardness of closeted gender exploration. I don’t find it offensive in the least. The whole little bit felt like a little nod to their trans fans from the band, done in a way transphobes will mistake as weird comedy. Just a little "we see you" Easter egg in the visuals. It was very different from the drag outfits in the Zick Zack video (funny in an absurdist way but really a drag vibe, not gender self-exploration like this).
The folks ranting on about this song being anti-woke have honestly failed to notice that lyrics can just as easily be interpreted as a humorous sendup of the objectification of women (all these silly bawdy songs present the singer as a bit of buffoon) and that Richard’s character is someone trans women can absolutely identify with and not be offended by. They are reading Till’s lyrics in the most shallow way possible and ignoring tons of visual imagery (like Till’s blindness… from milky white eyes). Besides, the band’s been very clear that they have no love of right-wing politics. Hell, "Links 2 3 4" was an explicit rebuke to people saying that they were right wingers.
All that said, they are also very irreverent and have bawdy senses of humour. I have no doubt that one big motivation for writing this song was just to get the hilarious absurdity of entire stadium crowds screaming "big boobs" in German. 😆
again thank you.
I see Richard's scene as a reference to "Buffalo Bill" from "Silence of the Lambs".
@@thorvarg Whatever floats your boat I guess. Thats the beauty of Rammsteins ambivalence. I've seen your comments on another react video. You made a comment about how Rammstein was "so anti-woke" with this. Lets just say it made me laugh. A lot.

Love how people get upset over interpatations of their culture, by people within the same culture. Imo Rammstein is taking the piss in Bavarian culture, Lots if nazi-hints and the the last stomping in the Edelweiß is just the cherry on top.
@@abstractgeniuscomments Rammstein doesn't take the piss of any culture. No matter where. And when it looks like that, it's usually only exaggerated in relation to the topic. And where are there many Nazi references in the video? All traditions shown existed centuries before the Nazis.

you didn't notice, but Till steps on an Edelweiss at the end, which has a special meaning....
So und nicht anders!!! 😍
If you notice in the very last part of the video, Till isn't blind anymore.
fun fact: the old music in the background that you liked is the song of the leading party in the DDR back then, it's actually the SED-song and it's super catchy
Einfach nur cool !
Freakin' hilarious.. never expected this from Rammstein.😂
Till Lindemann's Steh Auf - brilliant video and song!
Great reaction! :)
I had a question, how do you watch official video with English subtitle?
I live in Switzerland... this could have been filmed a few miles from where I sit, it really looks like that here.
Besides the obvious titillating visuals, I love that they are essentially reprimanding all of us; we are all guilty of overlooking what can truly make us happy, while chasing for other insignificant things outside of our grasp. The lyrics alone didn't give us the context that he is blind, so the video elevates the song significantly. Rammstein just makes the best music videos, my personal favorite being 'Sonne'. :)
The lyrics just depict a depressed man. But him being literally blind is interesting.
The camera focuses on the tits and the funny masturbation puns, ignoring the hard work the women do preparing for the party at the end.
I think it's a funny tastefully done video.
Hey I'm surprised you haven't reacted to any Beast in Black. Or have you?
