There are sooooo many great Smiths songs, it’s very difficult to pick just one as your favorite, but if I had to, this would be mine. It’s so gorgeous, yet the lyrics are so dark, which is a fantastic combo for me personally. 10/10.
This song defined the mood of a whole disenfranchised youth in the 80s. A time of high unemployment and little hope. It spoke to me and I could relate. The Smiths were and are everything to me. As bad as things were back then I'd still rather grow up in the 80s than be a child today.
I grew up with this! I appreciate you discovering , giving it a chance. I can tell by your reactions it’s enticing you? Maybe I’m wrong- I’m not! I heard my older brother playing the smiths on an old turntable in 85 I was only 11 but, I was hooked I was too young to see the smiths when they played in Toronto unfortunately but, I’ve seen morrissey over 30 times . Anyway not too many people know about the smiths or morrissey? Respect and ty for listening
Thanks for reacting to this song, for some reason i couldnt stop cryin watching your video, probably the memories of childhood that came with this song.
@@sebxstixnrojxs Hi Sebastián, im ok, its really kind from you to ask. I was going through really dificult times when i saw this video, and this song always triggers memories from childhood, and childhood has been the most sad part of my life. Are you ok? Do you like The smiths and Morrisey?
For the record, the song wasn't actually released as a single until the '90s. (Singularized to promote the second of the Smiths Best compilations - and it didn't work, volume one may have topped the charts but volume two didn't make the top 40).
When your head’s in a certain place, the Smiths hit hard.
My favourite song ever!! It has everything you could wish for, sad, funny, and you can hum it. Thanks again the magnificent smiths.

The smiths will always be the most REAL band ever! I love them like I love being alive. Love and good wishes to you.
One of the best songs
For another 'heavy' Smiths song, and arguably their most popular song, you should try "How Soon Is Now?"
Mate, I’m am so jealous of you as you are starting your Smiths journey.
Wow your comment just hit me! I kind of wish I could start that journey again! I’m still on it after 35 years and I’m never getting off!
