    You inspired me years and years ago as a teenager to grow my hair. I made it to mid thigh length and cut it up to about tailbone length. I am growing it again and I'm so glad to see a new hair video from you. 🖤 You also inspired me to waist train a few years ago, but I could never get it right😭

    I enjoy all your videos, but the hair videos are my favorites. Please keep them coming. I usually watch each hair vid several times, as opposed to just once for the other types. So that might help the algorithm, as well.

    If you sew the end of that towel shut on one end (so the way you are holding it), tadaa, you have an extra long turbie towel. I have a couple of those and they are wonderful. You can fold in the hair and wrap it up to your head. I secure mine with a medium size claw clip at the nape of my neck as I flip the tail over. It's a little "hack" for you for us long haired folk! ;) I keep mine on about 30 minutes, and by that time my hair is damp, not dripping.

    Yay a return to hair videos! I'm super jealous of your terminal length. I think I'm pretty done by the time I hit classic and college stress has left me with permanent thin spots on the sides of my head (plus, I'm a side sleeper). But I get to live vicariously through you haha

    I just cut my hair last Wednesday. I was maybe 5 inches away from waist length and now I'm back to armpit length. The splits, the single strand knots, and the constant breakage had become unbearable. I had already cut a good 3 inches last summer and 6 inches last winter so I was avoiding another cut. However, my hair feels so much better now. The curls are super defined and it feels so soft and smooth. I'm glad I finally went ahead and cut it. The best part is, I loooooove the new shape!

      Consider using less heat, more hair oils, protective styles, and a satin sleep cap. That's helped my rather fine, prone to drying hair get to my lower waist.

    • @Carpathianpixie
      @Carpathianpixie 3 года назад +2

      @@megalopolis2015 My hair needs some more TLC before I can protective style. I'm starting out a new regimen in the hopes of getting it back healthy. And I tried oils(coconut, olive, jojoba) but they don't do much. I fimally figured out that the dryness was due to my deep conditioners not working. I started applying them on almost dry hair and keeping them overnight. It's only been a couple of weeks but so far my hair is feeling better.

    I also wrap my hair in a microfibre towel. One tip I can give is to not use fabric softener on your microfibre towels. Lucy, you almost certainly already know that but thought I'd put it here for other people.

    Your hair as grown so much!
    You have such beautiful texture and colour.
    Regarding hard water, ugh, I pretty much do an ACV rinse once a week and that keeps the minerals at bay, I also use a shampoo with EDTA at least once a month. My shower filter, of course, does nothing for it but helps with the chlorine which I hate more than the minerals.
    I think that is my biggest issue.
    Anyway, hair definitely gets more porous as it grows and the chlorine just makes it worse. I basically braid it dripping wet to preserve some moisture.

    Have you considered an aloe vera rinse to close the cuticles on your ends? That’s a short term aid but perhaps a porosity control treatment and/ a protein treatments will be more medium term solutions.

    My hair loves argan oil too! I'd be very interested to see what my terminal hair length looks like, because I stopped flat ironing it about 3 years ago so it's now my natural (wild) curls and they take up a lot of length. Last time I straightened it it brushed the middle of my butt, so I'd be curious what would happen if I straightened it now.

    Your hair is absolutely beautiful! Mine is long enough I can now sit on it and have been really thinking about cutting it drastically again (I cut over 18 inches off 5 years ago-it was just below my shoulders) but after seeing this I may just get it trimmed so the ends are healthy again and see how long I can get it. It is now longer than it has ever been in my life!

      @a basketboy it is still super long, I didn't cut it off like I was going to. It is probably about to the middle of my thigh, maybe a little bit more. I have dyed it, but that's about it. Still really healthy. I get compliments on it sometimes. Thank you for checking back with me!

    I think we trimmed around the same time.I too about a foot off mine from somewhere around upper to mid calf, which put me just below classic or so but I'm back to mid thigh or a bit more already I think.I don't pay much attention to it. Lol I did it for the same reason. My ends whittle away to nothingness...I also think the pandemic has been unkind to my hair...oh well.

    Some stylist have a green thumb when they trim your hair and it will grow extra fast...and others have some kind of energy that makes it fall and stop growing altogether....I swear that happened to me with a friend...like she gave my hair the evil eye man..never been the same..so now I trim it myself too...

      Thank you!! I thought a bit about how I would answer your question, and apart from the cliché answers like trying to stay away from heat, use protective styles like braids, sleeping in a satin bonnet, and eating healthily, I don’t think I have any wild secrets. I don’t use egg masks or rice water or the inversion method of any of that. I just ignore my hair as much as possible and tolerate that most days it doesn’t look its best, and it just grows on its own 😅

    Very strange ; It may be a year or so I didn't look your channel and YESTERDAY I was looking at you , trying to look on insta how long your hair was and didn't find a recent video ...
    That's a sign ; I need to use sillicon on my end .. !! However, I don't understand what you mean by that ? Is it specific product who contains sillicon ? Thanks !

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  3 года назад +1

      There are many different forms of silicones, some lighter and some heavier. One example that's in a lot of lotions and hair serums is dimethicone (anything with the suffix "-cone" is likely to be a type of silicone). Leave in conditioners and anti-frizz hair serums often contain cones. I know that @torrinpaige uses Silk Drops. The most effective one for me for awhile was the Barbie (yes, *that* Barbie haha) detangler spray, until they discontinued it. I think they've since brought it back but changed the formula.

    63 inches. That's crazy. That's 10 years' worth of growth. I've been trying to grow my hair long for the past 15 years with trims every three months and I can't get past 27 inches. Does that mean my anagen phase is only four and a half years long?

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  3 года назад +1

      My hair grows about 8-10 inches a year depending on how good I am with eating/sleeping well and managing my hormone balance and stress. All this to say that in the past year my hair hasn’t grown much, haha. In fairness, I hadn’t trimmed my hair in close to a year before this video so it was long overdue. I’m not sure how much you’re trimming off, but if you’ve never recorded your speed of hair growth and compared it to how much you’re trimming, it might be worth investigating.

    • @TheSands1984
      @TheSands1984 3 года назад

      @@LucysCorsetry Well, your hair grows faster than mine. My hair only grows six inches a year, so 27 inches equals four and a half years, so I'm assuming that I've been at terminal length for years because my anagen phase is only four and a half years long.
