I actually haven’t seen the sequels in a while. I should rewatch them. I was let down by the remake though. It just didn’t look good as far as the visuals of the movie go.
There’s 3 new commentary tracks and a new interview. But everything is old. It’s actually a great transfer. I wanted a little more though lol. But still so happy
Pretty happy with this overall. Definitely an upgrade over the Blu-ray. Like you my one complaint is the audio, but for different reasons. When this movie screened theatrically it had a stereo mix. The mono was essentially a backup. Apparently the original elements are gone. BUT the stereo mix made it to home video on both laserdisc and VHS. Scream Factory could have gotten the mix from those sources easily but chose not to. Arrow has actually done things like this in the past. So while the 4k is the best this movie has ever looked on home video, its actually a downgrade from a 37 year old VHS tape! Kind of ridiculous. Regarding audio commentaries, I was once like you. I started listening to them via Bluetooth headphones while Im working or doing stuff around the house and its completely changed my opinion. Commentaries are easily the best bang for your buck in terms of learning about the films. Often way more information than those interviews, featurettes, or "documentaries".
That’s a great idea!! I never thought of doing that with headphones while doing stuff around the house. I like commentary tracks but my time is limited so watching the movie multiple times is tough. But this could change this for me. Thank you! I didn’t know that about the audio elements and that’s a shame. It’s seems like upgrading the audio has been something a lot of studios weather be boutique or major studios have chosen to just keep recycling audio. I’m guessing it’s a cost cutting measure so I imagine that’s why they didn’t want to pay to get those sources and then adjust them.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMediaoh really because I thought the kills in part 2 were more brutal then in the first film. Meg Foster was an interesting choice to play the mom in part 2.
Not sure if anyone new what trespassing was back in the 80s but it happens twice in this movie. Once where Jim is roaming around Jerry Blakes/real name Henry Morrisons original home from the beginning of the film and one where Stephanie crawls through an open window of an empty house where Jerry posed as a real estate agent and murdered her doctor in an earlier scene. These two grown ass adults should know that entering a home reguardless of whether it's just plain empty with nobody living in it or empty and also being gut renovated without permission will get you in alot of trouble with the police and all kinds of things. ALWAYS ask permission even if it's just from one of the guys working on the house or the construction manager of the house. This is a movie and I get that but trespassing can occur alot in real life too and it's mostly into homes. There's a house I used to live in that's currently under a gut renovation and I told one of the spanish guys who I believe was the one managing the construction team that I used to live there and I'm eventually going to ask to go inside and happily take a roam around once it looks safe and to a point where it looks liveable inside.
I totally agree and was thinking the same thing while Ie as watching the movie. Actually I had a person who thought they asked for permission to come into my home to look at doing renovations and the problem was it wasn’t me who gave them that information or was it the right address. So one morning a guy just walks right through my back door like he’s supposed to be there. My dogs went crazy. So people do feel like they can just walk into places sometimes. Always double check. Or just don’t go into uninvited places lol
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMediayeah I hear you man. It would be nice to see how my old house looks under a gut renovation. I miss the beauty it had when I lived there despite it being old and dated. White walls are the way to go. My old home was only two floors or 3 if you want to count the basement. Just the thought of afew guys in the house stripping all the sheetrock off the walls and ripping out the carpeting and getting a budget dumpster to throw it all in is very emotional. The house is historic so they lifted it to work on the foundation. Acouple of times after I officially moved out it had been roughly a week after or a few days I took a peak in the window and at the time the house was just empty and no work had been done to it yet. I still even had my own key to the house but I was pissed because I couldn't get in to take one last walk around. The landlord had changed the locks after we moved out supposedly. Even if I had gone in with my key I don't think I would've gotten in trouble because like I said the house was just abandoned and there were no cameras and no work had been going on there.
@bryanrizzo9377 That would upset me too. Those memories just being thrown away like it’s nothing hurts. I don’t think anyone would have cared if it was abandoned I agree.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMediaI always went at 530 in the morning on my way to work to peak through the window. It seems like just yesterday I was living there and it was so peaceful and now I'm moved out and there's trucks and all these spanish guys working on my old house. From what I understand they don't eff around at gutting homes and constructing and it seems like they are very strict when it comes to the area blocking the property off with the fence and they put up a no trespassing sign and there's a camera now. I told one of the spanish fellas working there that I used to live in that house and he seemed interested and was actually pretty cool and spoke English well. I think it was the person in charge because he asked if I needed something and then I just told him no and that I was just passing by because I used to live there. I live in that house for 14 years my friend and it was built in 1988. The house is raised up so obviously there's no easy access for me to get inside so if I ask to go in they probably would've had a long hard plack of wood to use as a walking path leading into the front door me to enter. Maybe they would've let me go in or maybe they wouldn't because of worry that I would get hurt in there. The fact that I used to live there is a perfectly logical reason for me to be there and pass by.
Yeah exactly I don’t think it’s a bad reason to go by and check out the house. One of my childhood homes looks nothing like it was when I was younger. Thats hoe time works but it is sad to see it be so different then I remember.
O that explains it. The only thing I saw was he was afraid of being typecast. I didn’t realize he has those feelings for the film. That’s a shame, He’s great in it.
Has Shelley Hack who plays the mother talked about this movie and her role in interviews? I've never seen any interviews with her talking about it. Jill Schoelen who plays the stepdaughter is the only one I've seen being interviewed about it.

Fun movie - used to have this on Laser Disc back in the day - I remember the sequel being cool also

First 2 movies are great and I give both a 10/10. Skipped part 3 and the remake I give a 7/10.
I need to go back to 2. I didn’t like it the first time I saw it. The remake I would give that same score.
