I mean he does seem like the kid that was in the cool crowd like the Bridgerton boys where they went the brothels and talked about women they slept with and I doubt his father would have that talk with him from the only clip we saw of him last season. So it was the blind leading the blind
LOL I had a different take on it, I thought to myself that he knew Philipa was innocent and did not understand the ways of the bedroom and did not want to frighten or upset her. He simply was waiting til he was certain she was ready and comfortable with the idea. The later scene where they are in the throws of passion, he had a "OMG YES FINALLY!" look on his face lol. Maybe I am reading to much into it and he was just very innocent as well, but I like to think he was just the ultimate gentleman lol.
Agreed Portia gets a lot of flack for her parenting when Voliet raised her daughters to be princess that knew nothing, spoiler, spoiler, spoiler. You have been warned. I’m glad Francisca called her out in the second part of her fantasy idea about love.
@@mariaskabardonis8353ik but no one told her before lady Danbury luckily she had the talk and pictures for it but her brother was there to raise her so that would explain a lot and a reverent had to tell Daphne how to get pregnant 😂
@williethomas5116 It's hilarious, since they were horny as fuck and, on the whole, tended to be a LOT looser about certain things. You'd be shocked by what wealthy and contemporary French women (and eventually English women, since as went French culture, so went the world back then) were wearing; wonderfully scant and barely layered, diaphanous muslin and linen dresses that accentuated curves and with a front so open that it might even raise a few eyebrows today. It was a direct rejection of French aristocratic couture after the Revolution, and ushered in a pretty vibrant cultural dynamic of vivid colorings and self-expression. So many dramas and the like dress up the people in either Rococo or Baroque styles
This scene makes me giggle every single freaking time.😅 I know they were deliberately trying to be funny, but the timing, the facial expressions, the movements is perfection.
Prudence, I think her name is. I love how she didn’t react till Phillipa said “inserts himself where?” Not at the first “inserts himself?” Her eyes say everything in their movements I love it
This is right up there with "How can a woman be pregnant without a husband" And Colin "we're going out back to play with our sticks" Violet "Colin Bridgerton!!" Colin "Fencing ma ma fencing"!!
Eloise: "I take it the two of you know?" This edit is brilliant. It's what they should have used as background music for this scene, but a string rendition. They should be paying you the big bucks is all I'm saying.
Okay but, I kinda feel like lady featherington had this coming... First season, didnt she say that Ms. Tompsons condition (pregnancy) was 'Catching'? She had this coming back at her like some comedic boomerange and asks why she must be punished? Please.
yes, you’d think she would have had the talk before her daughters were married though (at the very least, the night before the wedding) but she clearly didn’t and it’s come back to bite her for leaving them ignorant
Reminds me of episode from Golden Girls, Rose telling the girls her husband explaining what was going to happen. She thought he was joking. Someone should post that segment. Women were kept so in the dark😢.
Forgive my ignorance. I've never seen this show, nor do I know any of the characters. What is the name of the girl who says "We kiss, he makes an odd sound, then he goes and changes his britches."?
I’m curious as to how he manages to ‘insert himself’ if she’s not into it. I mean, if she’s not ‘ready’ down there that’s surely gonna be very uncomfortable at best🤔
Philippa really endeared herself to me in this scene. Just the innocence and her smile as she says "We kiss." Bless her heart.
this only proves that Mr. Finch was as inocent as Philipa

@@Ladyartemicia I read somewhere that this is the actor's head canon, so I think we can take this as what went down.
Can you imagine how much giggling went on before they finally captured the scene?
It must have been hilarious! Can’t wait for the outtakes!
It's even funnier coz Philippa has been married longer. She and Mr. Finch married 2x02 whereas Prudence married her husband between season 2 and 3.
Portia was really going through it to find out her middle child was still a virgin after a year of marriage 😂
At least Portia was able to express it better than Violet when her daughters had questions

Portia looks flabbergast.
IKR, Victorian/Regency rules meant they didn't talk about such things. But I guess Portia figured they would stumbled upon the answer by now. LMAO!!

I like the theory that Mr Finch was being respectful, and waiting for Philippa to give him permission. So sweet.

It’s the sister’s blink and stare that gets me. You can practically hear her brain go ‘wot?’

The harshest words a man can hear "Is it in yet?"
