Young Queen Charlotte's marriage to King George of England sparks an epic love story and transforms high society in this "Bridgerton" universe prequel. Развлечения
I feel like Lady Danbury in this scene was amazing as well. The look she gave George when she realized how he cared for Charlotte broke my heart. Also Brimsley piping up about the blood loss to the king took courage and showed his love for his lady. :)
Exactly you saw that too, I was so touch when Brimsley spoke even, thank Goodness for The King farming skill to save the day.
Yes. Lady speaking up was amazing, but Brimsley speaking up could have had big repercussions. I think both the King and Queen could tell these two people cared deeply for their Queen.
Yes and Brimsley usually doesn't talk much. So for him to pipe up meant he was very alarmed at the kind of care Charlotte was receiving from the doctor.

George’s love for Charlotte was so touching in this scene 🥺🥺😭 so precious he told the archbishop off!
Even when he started to lose his mind that was something he never lost! Very heart touching!
I love how George values Agatha's childbirth experience over the doctor's expertise. He gave her the agency that Lord Danbury never did
Because only a woman could relate to another woman's experience
Having a medical degree doesn't mean you really understand the physical and emotional toll it takes to give life.

When he told the Archbishop of Canterbury off…that was a power play. Loved it
the only right kind of powerplay💯
"Do you *like* being Archbishop of Canterbury?"
NEVER get between a man and the love of his life PERIOD
I loved the way George supported Charlotte in her time of need just like she does for him. When she needed him and her life depended on him, Farmer George was on his A game. 👑
The love everyone has for Charolette- Lady Danbury and Brimsley speaking out about the situation and blood loss, George being here comforting her and defending her and reassuring her- aaaahhhh it’s gonna make me cry it’s so sweet.
❤❤❤❤❤ I wanted to comment this lol i was so touched as well 😍❤️
The amount of fear and concern Brimsley had on his face for his queen was heart touching...
The doctor was basically going to let the queen and/or the baby die. He'd given up. Thankfully the King knew what could be done.
No wonder women kept dying from childbirth! All these doctors gave up too fast and left everything ‘to nature’. She's the freaking queen and the baby’s the prince you think the doc would have gone above and beyond to save them both!
@@saratrice3051 right. Exactly what I was saying.
@@saratrice3051they didnt know what to do back then.
Most of medicine was still rather.... rudimentary.... back then.
Hell, for a long time noone knew bacteria etc existed (they thought diseases eg the plague was spread via fumes/smells).... thus hand hygiene wasnt a thing at all..... you can guess where that led
@@saratrice3051I think them being royal is the holdup. If he had tried but she died anyway he would have been blamed and probably executed. He he said “there’s nothing to be done” its safer for him. Still messed up though.
@@JustMe-12345 if she had had a Midwife like a common woman would have then they would have known what to do and they (the midwives) did know about washing hands and such which is why you always see them say boil water. Only the nobility and royals used "trained physicians" who stuck up their noses at the common way of doing things. Yet more noble women died in childbirth than common women.
Lady Danbury said "I was not talking to you 😒"
Fact! 😂
😂 She sure did. I am talking to the KING.
I absolutely LOVED this scene. He basically told the Archbishop to move bih get out the way get out the way get out the way 😂...& threatened him. Then he not only didn't leave her side, but pretty much saved Charlotte's & the baby's life with his method of delivery. The doctor was useless. He loved that woman. All the history books stated the same of his love for her. He never ever took a Mistress, unlike all the other men in his family. It was also said that they had a very happy marriage...I guess aside from his illness.
So, this is partially accurate. Though George never took a mistress, during his bout of mental illness, he did inappropriately approach many of the queen's attendants. So, though he never cheated on her, he tried, and trying to paint him as anything but what he was is an inaccurate telling of reality. We can blame his mental illness, but the truth is that he still made unwanted advances to women who were not his wife, and that's not loyalty by any means.
@@lyraserpentine894depends if he did so while fully cogent. There were symptoms like hallucination, which alters reality as he perceives it and obscures the real intention behind his actions.
@@lyraserpentine894Tf.
George was a good man!
@@lyraserpentine894 Do not underestimate the toll of untreated and misunderstood mental illness. George had fits of hallucinations; moments where he was not him and the world was not his. Moments where he forgot who he was. In a time where the right medication did not exist and where it was all misunderstood and where he could not see her half the time. You cannot measure loyalty for him against the same standards you do to people not having his condition because that is unfair. He was a good husband, King and father. When Charlotte died he was inconsolable all until his own death.
The best series on Netflix! PERIODT
Periodddd!
@@MD-jw6lj thank you for that. The first was...unsettling.
Oh plz 😂😂
Farmer George became Pappa George and saved his wife and baby❤❤
Yessss
You can tell that Brimsley has a strong relationship with Queen Charlotte at this point because he can't even stand to see or hear her in pain but refuses to leave her side all the same even though no man is supposed to be present unless they are appointed physician. I love this relationship.
The love they must have had for each other and their family. This scene and all it's supporting characters is brilliant!!!!🌼
Fifteen times...she went through this type of pain FIFTEEN times. I couldnt imagine even going through it once!
All the same, watching George support her through labor is amazing.
I can’t even handle period pains, how in the ever loving f$ck did these women endure?!?!
@@KittyKat-ky5usmy mom told me it’s like pushing a car out and don’t eat anything before going in labor otherwise it’s coming up or out…
And without any pain meds I'm sure... Or if there were any, probably not as effective as an epidural. I recently just gave birth and when i saw this scene I totally felt those labor pains again that she was going through! And my nurse was telling me that back then, women would die during the labor and delivery process alone because of the amount of pain they were in. So God bless Charlotte for doing this 15x!!! 😮
I love the “you are here🥰 STAY🤨”
One of the best scenes in the entire series 😍
Omg. Such a beautiful scene. I loved George threatening to fire the Archbishop. He loves his wife.
As an American, I’ve only ever seen shows about George iii being a crazy villain. Seeing him in this romance was so refreshing and gave a new perspective. I was rooting for him 😊
"MY WIFE❣️MY BABY❣️"...You go, George!!!
I was waiting on her to ask him, “Are you calling me a horse?!” She was in too much pain.
Right😅😅😅😅 at that point she could not have cared for anything. Too much pain 😢
Lolol Too funny. Loved your comment, but alas, there is a time and place for playful banter. Childbirth cleans one's brain of quick one-liners.
So true 😂😂😂😂😂
One of the most beautifull lovestories, exceptance from Charlotte due to his illness she stands by him wow❤🎉
He became his wife's midwife😊😊😊
George is speaking for the first time like a true king!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
He took charge to save her :)
Poor Brimsley he looked so scared for Charlotte.
It was a heartbreaking series. BUT I would never want it any other way. I loved them. Their love for each other. Uhh..... So beautiful.
Love how he used his power to get into the room. It's 🔥🔥🔥
"I am the King, and I want to see my wife, even if she is in labor, so get the fuck out of my way!"
Absolutely! Head of Church trumps Archbishop 🙌🏽😎🤩
i mean, he probably wouldn't have said fuck, but it amounts to the same thing!
This is why Georgie approved his brothers’ marriage upon his mother’s request haha
😂😂😂😂😂
He said “Either you move or I will have you beheaded!!”
George basically just came in with the “I’m King. I’m in charge here and you either do as I say or kiss your cushy job (and maybe life) goodbye.” Also the way Charlotte was the only one who could command him is just the best.
George’s expression at 1:26 is priceless. 😂😂😂
Yesss ,you would've thought he was having for real moment..It gets me everytime I watch it.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I cried! George is a true hero 😢
Love love Daddy George 😍❤️
Loved this part, how kingly was he there
He was 100% king when it came to his wife and baby. 👑🥰❤️
Brimsley wasn't f*cking around. He's right. She was losing too much blood
1:09 " you are here. STAY"
😂❤
For me, it's simply that "move"
This scene like all the others are amazing! I love the way George took control of the situation and made the doctor do his job!
I wonder how much of that scene was based on historical documents? I know that by the time of Victoria 's birth, Charlotte no longer visited George alone as he have become violent.
I love the actors playing the roles of king, queen and lady Danbury. All three are outstanding! 🧡
Victoria was the 2nd or 3rd child? I wanted to believe that his love towards her lasted a little longer when he was sane ')
@@Rioanany2Victoria was the grandchild, born whilst George was still alive and technically on the throne (although mad by this point and much of the ruling was done by the prince regent). They had 15 children together in between his bouts of poor mental health and it wasn’t until some time after that he was too dangerous for Charlotte to be around.
"You are here..." 🥹
"Stay." 😠
Her face was priceless, I love it! Also George was so sweet and made sure he was at her side 🥲❤️

Corey would make a great villian.
I think so too. I think he could play so many different roles he is very good!
Nope. He easily has a kind face. Freddy on the other hand would.
@@sabcam2000that’s what would make him a good villain you would never see it coming 😈
So men want to be there when the baby is made but not when it’s born ??
Lmao true
It was so ridiculous for them to act like George hasn't already seen everything Charlotte has. 😂🤣
Cultural and societal norms childbearing was “women’s work” accept when colonial medicine took over with white make doctors however in most cultures only women are present in childbearing maybe the father of the child but definitely female relatives
@@AnaisKarim you know there's a lot more coming out from around that area than just the baby. In my understanding, sometimes the woman herself might want to keep that part private.
But I totally agree that having the dad in the room, at least holding hands from the other side of the lady, is the very least he can do.
@@pirimpallopirimpalli4932 All she wanted was to deliver that baby safely. He was a farmer, he knew that birth was messy. The real George III wrote farming articles on manure, he was bout that life. 😂🥰
It's crazy how Brimsley was allowed in but King George was not.. both are men.. #womensworkisafoot
has anyone else noticed around 1:46 George smiles a bit before it cuts off?? if you slow it down it’s pretty obvious lol did the editors forget to cut that 😭

Are you suggesting suicide, perhaps?
All husbands should be at their wives sides for the birth of their children.
IRL they did love each other a lot. So much for the horrors of “arranged” marriages that people hack on so much. Actually, they had about the same hit and miss as we do now, and they weren’t forced (mostly) into it after maybe the medieval era. Even Eleanor of Aquitaine picked Henry II.
Well it depends. In the case of a young teenager coupled with a hairy old ogre I can't see how there can be ever a pleasant moment for the girl.
that's a lie but go off...
I feel like probably no couple ends up with 15 children unless they have a considerable attraction to one another.
The Dr was going to let her die.
George literally showed him "I am the king here! Fuck off"
All I can say is 😅WOW.
She birthed 15 babies in a time when you could die from just laboring one

That dr needs to have the natural order of things left to him as he bleeds out.
Yep the only real character in the story
And to think that she did this about a gazillion more times.
Oh, God, what methods did they use? Did they have to reach inside? 😱
Why is it that at every turn there's always some clown making things harder than they need to be
Now that's a real man but only in theories 😂😢
The real Charlotte had 15 children. FIFTEEN!
Why were they trying to prevent him from going in?
Back in those days, it was seen as unsightly for a man to be in the birthing room bc the woman's legs are open visible n blood would be all over. Most thought the man not being there protected her chastity and womanly dignity from men seeing her life that.
@@sersastark😅
It was thought that if man saw what happened in childbirth, it might scare him off from visiting the bed of his wife ever again. A disaster if he was a man who needed a son.
because that was the etiquette
Actually the Prime Minister was alwsys present at the birth up until Queen Victoria.

Lady danberry killed me by saying to Kate she had to mory and loneliness was not an option
She lived already and than you saw her relationship with lord danberry
Kate seriosly had not listen to her
At least she had self respect and married by love lady danberry was the worst in that story but I love to see the love story between violet and Edmund
You all kill me with this.
She said that because unlike Lady Danbury, Kate was in a situation where she could have love. She was just holding herself back.
She was in a different time and a different era. Kate clearly wanted to be married. She was just told she wasn’t worth it.
Apples and oranges.
@@IssaPartay lady danberry had a terrible basis for a merrage she told Kate that she already lived and had everything
That is a mean lie and the whole point about Kate was that she was an old maid who did not want to Mary she wanted for her sister that
That is why she came to England in the first place
But it is rude and wrong that a widower who’s marriage was obviously crap says to her you have to merry someone
It is not violett who was happy it was an woman who hated her husband
She should understand that Kate os 27 and she is not married she is an old made
She married because she was in love
And we all know that she denied the proposal of Anthony at first
You can still compare oranges and apples
But it is obvious that lady dan berry talked trash in that case
She had a terrible marriage yes, but she still had the willingness to find love after her husband died. If anything, lady Danbury could have had more loves than anyone else in the show, she just didn’t marry them or have the privilege to. Given the time and era for the show, Kate had both but was afraid to act on it.
Seeing Kate had the opportunity to marry a man she knew she loved, lady Danbury never had that so she encouraged Kate to go after it.
Y’all raise the standard too high
