I love every Daphne scene from this season, and I know she was ready to give Anthony the same one hitter quitter she gave Berbrooke when he proposed to Edwina
They really did not like Edwina at all but were too polite to say it outright. They acted polite but always seemed a little distant and more like they were tolerating her even before they knew for a fact Anthony loved Kate

Edwina was having a bad time, she couldn't find her way between them, she didn't like competition, she looked absolutely terrified of what was happening. She would go crazy if she had to take care of this family. Kate, on the other hand, had the time of her life and you could see that she would handle them with ease and pleasure
In the book, Edwina is less pamper princess and more an intellectual and introverted. She also didn't really want to marry Anthony outside of duty purposes. She was very happy being Daphne's nanny in the end.
Naw Edwina had plenty of spunk but it took for the wedding for her to drop her “I’m the perfect future viscountess” act - look at how assertive and downright aggressive she got once she dropped the act lol. I think she realized she needed to pretend to be pleasant and demure bc that’s what Anthony wanted in a future wife and with pallmall - she just didn’t like the game and found it boring. Later her real personality, which was forceful and strong came out once she realized not only did they lie to her but it no longer mattered what the viscount thought of her.
True but more like after going to the outside world and becoming a grown woman, being a duchess as well must've gave her wiseness It was also the fact that she went through a similar situation
Also there was one scene in eps 5, when Hyacinth casually mentioned "what about miss edwina's sister" and anthony speed light answered "WhAt aBoUt HeR?!" Very subtle but portrayed how Anthony was subconsiously very aware of Kate

Poor Edwina. Even Newton sensed the chemistry, the attraction, the strong feelings between Kate and Anthony. At first Newton didn't like Anthony, in this scene he goes right at Anthony's feet. I loved this scene, it's very funny😂
When the pastor starts with “wantonly to satisfy men’s lusts and appetites like rude beasts” and Anthony gives Kate his x-ray gaze and Benedict grins awkwardly, following Anthony’s gaze. Lmaooo. Oh yeah, Anthony had a wanton appetite alright. To the other sister. 😂
I feel like in the beginning Lady D and Violet saw a vibe between K&A but they didn't know which was whether it was they are about to kiss each other or they are about to kill each other, until ep4 (for Lady D) then it was like these two stubborn clowns anyways hilarious as always😂😂😂

the scene where violet lets him know kate is awake really gets me bc it feels like he'd been holding his breath since she fell and the split second where he tries to be cool about it and then immediately fails like he finally took a breath again like yesss jonathan bailey u will always be famous and also the way the he knew from just a look like he was in HELL
My favorite part is when Kathony both try to shoo Newton out and then they stare at each other longingly, right in front of the Sharmas and Bridgertons, and Edwina literally calls out how absurd it is she hadn’t them noticed before. I love how self-aware this season is, with its excessively long scenes of just unbroken eye contact to rival even Edward Cullen.
Daphne was correct, especially during the pall mall scene you can see that Edwina doesn’t fit the competitiveness of the Bridgeton siblings. She was raised with Elegance (Knows exactly when to smile, Knows exactly what to say at all times) Anthony has a gigantic ego at times and needs someone more like him.
Had anyone noticed how Kate's dress sleeves took the shape of upturned tulips in the later episodes? This might be a nod to her passion for Anthony, a slight hint to her externalisation of her inner tumultuous emotions. I don't maybe i am seeing too much, given that I am positively besotted with this couple. I tend to find meaning in everything I see here. 😂😅

I don’t think Colin saw anything really. I think he just wanted to end the game because either Kate or Anthony were clearly gonna win. Colins way too oblivious
Book Colin also comments on how similar Kate and Anthony are, but also knows Kate's initial aversion to Anthony for being a rake, so as part of being an annoying younger brother he tries his best to get them into situations together, like he does in the pall mall game and in the book he also gets them to dance initially on first meeting. So Colin really is crafty as Daphne says; on some level he sensed that them two together would be fireworks and tension filled and he was right, but not sure if he knew it was romantic initially. Personally I interpreted both from the books and show that Anthony's siblings and mum knew that he would need a wife that would truly challenge him and be his equal- so he needed a witty and strong Kate: they really highlighted this in the show where Kate is a brilliant horse rider, just as competitive as him when playing pall mall (also in books), loves to hunt: challenges his authoritative view as viscount who often gets his way (also in books). That's why I love them and they remind me of another fave story of Mr Darcy and Elizabeth's story from Pride and Prejudice, where she was also an opinionated woman who didn't like him initially especially after he called her "tolerable" but mainly cause she thought he had too much pride and was terrible to Mr Wickham; she would challenge his views and keep things interesting, be a true equal. She also fell in love with Darcyafter visiting his family home and seeing him with his family....so it's easy to see what inspired J Quinn for this story.
They did nor lie when they said it was a slowburn romance....at every moment i was literally saying in my head like get married, get married, get married or get lost
you missed the part where Benedict, Violet and Lady D saw how they look at each other during promenade. Violet literally had to yank his arm so people wont notice lol.
I personally like Kathony to refer to the couple in the series as her name is Kathani and his is Anthony. The Kath from Kathani plays into the thony from Anthony so its a better ship name. But in the book her name is kate therefore kanthony sounds better because ka is all that plays into his name.
She was quite naive because she has never seen true love or secret crushes before. She was this on-your-face kinda pretty, who would garner everyone's attention without even trying. In a way her beauty had gotten into her head, so she only assumed that there is no way any man wouldn't be attracted to her. When Anthony made it clear several times that he only intended to marry her, she wasn't even thinking that he could be attracted to her sister, because in her mind she was the pretty one. And the way Kate kept pushing him away, she assumed they don't get along. Only people who have been in true love could see this. So yeah, the married ladies saw it crystal clear. And Benedict perhaps as he was into art and poetry. Other all siblings were similarly oblivious to the whole thing.
Although Anthony and Kate didin't always take the right action, I can sympathize with that after so much they've been responsible for and the confused emotions of those caught up in love. But for Edwina, this character is quite stupid for me, as she always makes the other two spend time together, and then completely surprised to find out they have feelings for each other. Not any girl with smart and sophisticated would force her sister to get close to the man she wants to marry. Furthermore, I think Edwina is too naive to understand "emotions that need not be expressed by words", she is really too green to marry someone.
One thing I feel weird about is that even Kate's mother was unable to sense her feelings for Anthony. She could've handled it in a much better way because she would've tried her best not to break either of her daughters' heart.

this is why it doesn't make sense at all why edwina didn't even notice this tension between her sister and anthony.. she even saw kate expression during anthony lake falls, that ring measurement and more, even book edwina notice it. but i guess netflix really love drama

I don't think Edwina knows what real love and attraction are! She only knows what she's been taught about this game she has to play to get a spouse. She doesn't realize there are people playing by different rules.
I'm a Taiwanese. It's a pity that many Taiwanese viewers don't know how to appreciate diverse beauty. I think Kate is beautiful, elegant and generous. I am very happy that this couple is very popular overseas. Hope to see these two great actors in the next season.
He took out his stress on the family, like being abrupt with Eloise, bringing up the fact that three staff members had left, and Collin had taken out a large sum, whatever for. His family members started walking out for one excuse or the other. He found himself alone and he exhaled deeply. He could not allow himself to visit Kate in her coma.
Daphne knew even before anthony knew. She deserves to be thanked cause if she didn’t push him a few times he might not have been eager enough, or realize it too late.
My only critique is at the wedding when Edwina says "she didn't ask for any of this!". Prior when Edwina was at the Bridgerton summer house she states "the Vicount is who I want, this home, this life he offers" and "I won't give up". She totally begged Kate for it. Poor script writing there.

I think she meant how they had to come to english soil to find her a husband even if their mother did not want this. She could very well have found one in India but it was Kate who brought them there. It also meant the way she had been raised, like she didn't have her own thoughts and brains because from the last 7-8 years , she was raised to be a perfect wife. Whatever she knew alout Love, about their Father she knew through Kate. Maybe she meant that.
It always felt like to me that kate was always an outsider in her own family otherwise surely Mary would've recognised the looks between Anthony and Kate, if violet and lady danbury could? You can tell that her mother isn't really the one who raised kate but rather kate raised herself. I think Mary means well but perhaps all of her attention went to edwina's wants and desires, and much like anthony had to bear the difficulties of making hard decisions so did kate and that meant never really letting down her guard even around her sister and mother. I found that scene painful too, it was like she had already decided that kate was fault and didnt matter. And when edwina says "half-sister". You could see her childishness and entitlement coming through.

She did what she could considering her situation but judging by Kate's independence and more masculine activities, Kate took over the household as the 'father figure'. She does apologise to Kate for it and regrets it which I'm glad the writers added.
The scene at 3:16 and at the end of that dance when it zooms in on Lady Danbury and Daphne after the couple leaves the room are some of my fav scenes, mainly because you can tell Daphne knows something

Lady D and the queen did absolutelly nothing to bring these two together. Actually they tried to separate them as long as they could. Lady D trying to force Anthony to propose in the dinner scene, telling Kate she should trade him for her grandparents money, calling her a fool, giving Edwina hopes and the queen sponsoring the wedding. Violet at least tried to do something. And the queen ended up giving a favor. But Lady D did nothing at all. She even said in the 2nd episode Edwina shouldn't look out for love cause that's not how marriges work, didn't even seemed the same person who said "love, your grace, conquers all". She even looked at Edwina an Anthony and told Violet they could have the same sucess at the past year, and BOTH were happy on that courtship even though they already realized the things with Kate.
i think what i also love about these meme vids is it also makes us appreciate even moreso the phenomenal subtlety and strengths in every single person's acting skills, esp in the eyes!! we really get to keep zooming in on this talent ❤❤

My favorite part is when Kathony both try to shoo Newton out and then they stare at each other longingly, right in front of the Sharmas and Bridgertons, and Edwina literally calls out how absurd it is she hadn’t them noticed before. I love how self-aware this season is, with its excessively long scenes of just unbroken eye contact to rival even Edward Cullen.

Daphne was correct, especially during the pall mall scene you can see that Edwina doesn’t fit the competitiveness of the Bridgeton siblings. She was raised with Elegance (Knows exactly when to smile, Knows exactly what to say at all times) Anthony has a gigantic ego at times and needs someone more like him.
Had anyone noticed how Kate's dress sleeves took the shape of upturned tulips in the later episodes? This might be a nod to her passion for Anthony, a slight hint to her externalisation of her inner tumultuous emotions. I don't maybe i am seeing too much, given that I am positively besotted with this couple. I tend to find meaning in everything I see here. 😂😅

In the books Colin has strong intuition and it was hinted at when he met with Lady Crane. I suspect they will work on this next season.
Colin just likes to get Anthony, as bros do. In the book, he tells Anthony Kate talked about him -- he lets him think it's favorable when it's so not.
Book Colin also comments on how similar Kate and Anthony are, but also knows Kate's initial aversion to Anthony for being a rake, so as part of being an annoying younger brother he tries his best to get them into situations together, like he does in the pall mall game and in the book he also gets them to dance initially on first meeting. So Colin really is crafty as Daphne says; on some level he sensed that them two together would be fireworks and tension filled and he was right, but not sure if he knew it was romantic initially. Personally I interpreted both from the books and show that Anthony's siblings and mum knew that he would need a wife that would truly challenge him and be his equal- so he needed a witty and strong Kate: they really highlighted this in the show where Kate is a brilliant horse rider, just as competitive as him when playing pall mall (also in books), loves to hunt: challenges his authoritative view as viscount who often gets his way (also in books). That's why I love them and they remind me of another fave story of Mr Darcy and Elizabeth's story from Pride and Prejudice, where she was also an opinionated woman who didn't like him initially especially after he called her "tolerable" but mainly cause she thought he had too much pride and was terrible to Mr Wickham; she would challenge his views and keep things interesting, be a true equal. She also fell in love with Darcyafter visiting his family home and seeing him with his family....so it's easy to see what inspired J Quinn for this story.

I personally like Kathony to refer to the couple in the series as her name is Kathani and his is Anthony. The Kath from Kathani plays into the thony from Anthony so its a better ship name. But in the book her name is kate therefore kanthony sounds better because ka is all that plays into his name.

We forget she’s also supposed to be late teens/early 20s & very sheltered.
She was quite naive because she has never seen true love or secret crushes before. She was this on-your-face kinda pretty, who would garner everyone's attention without even trying. In a way her beauty had gotten into her head, so she only assumed that there is no way any man wouldn't be attracted to her. When Anthony made it clear several times that he only intended to marry her, she wasn't even thinking that he could be attracted to her sister, because in her mind she was the pretty one. And the way Kate kept pushing him away, she assumed they don't get along.
Only people who have been in true love could see this. So yeah, the married ladies saw it crystal clear. And Benedict perhaps as he was into art and poetry. Other all siblings were similarly oblivious to the whole thing.
Although Anthony and Kate didin't always take the right action, I can sympathize with that after so much they've been responsible for and the confused emotions of those caught up in love. But for Edwina, this character is quite stupid for me, as she always makes the other two spend time together, and then completely surprised to find out they have feelings for each other. Not any girl with smart and sophisticated would force her sister to get close to the man she wants to marry. Furthermore, I think Edwina is too naive to understand "emotions that need not be expressed by words", she is really too green to marry someone.

One thing I feel weird about is that even Kate's mother was unable to sense her feelings for Anthony. She could've handled it in a much better way because she would've tried her best not to break either of her daughters' heart.

okay all this, but as much as i understand how edwina felt about this, it felt painful to see their mom tell kate to "just go somewhere".
My only critique is at the wedding when Edwina says "she didn't ask for any of this!". Prior when Edwina was at the Bridgerton summer house she states "the Vicount is who I want, this home, this life he offers" and "I won't give up". She totally begged Kate for it. Poor script writing there.

I think she meant how they had to come to english soil to find her a husband even if their mother did not want this. She could very well have found one in India but it was Kate who brought them there. It also meant the way she had been raised, like she didn't have her own thoughts and brains because from the last 7-8 years , she was raised to be a perfect wife. Whatever she knew alout Love, about their Father she knew through Kate. Maybe she meant that.
It always felt like to me that kate was always an outsider in her own family otherwise surely Mary would've recognised the looks between Anthony and Kate, if violet and lady danbury could? You can tell that her mother isn't really the one who raised kate but rather kate raised herself. I think Mary means well but perhaps all of her attention went to edwina's wants and desires, and much like anthony had to bear the difficulties of making hard decisions so did kate and that meant never really letting down her guard even around her sister and mother. I found that scene painful too, it was like she had already decided that kate was fault and didnt matter. And when edwina says "half-sister". You could see her childishness and entitlement coming through.

She did what she could considering her situation but judging by Kate's independence and more masculine activities, Kate took over the household as the 'father figure'. She does apologise to Kate for it and regrets it which I'm glad the writers added.

Lady D and the queen did absolutelly nothing to bring these two together. Actually they tried to separate them as long as they could. Lady D trying to force Anthony to propose in the dinner scene, telling Kate she should trade him for her grandparents money, calling her a fool, giving Edwina hopes and the queen sponsoring the wedding.
Violet at least tried to do something. And the queen ended up giving a favor. But Lady D did nothing at all. She even said in the 2nd episode Edwina shouldn't look out for love cause that's not how marriges work, didn't even seemed the same person who said "love, your grace, conquers all". She even looked at Edwina an Anthony and told Violet they could have the same sucess at the past year, and BOTH were happy on that courtship even though they already realized the things with Kate.
