      Ehhh they were up and down but they were usually good run blockers. I agree with Tom coughlins philosophy of how to build a team. Be able to do everything on offense, but the main focus is to be able to mount an unstoppable pass rush

    God I miss these days. I will never forget the 2008 season with Jacobs, Ward and Bradshaw. Earth Wind and Fire. Such a shame Plax had to shoot himself in the leg. We were on course for back to back super bowls

    Jacobs was the type of running back where my buddy (Saints fan) and I (Packers fan) would hug each other on a Monday because of something 27 did the day before in a game neither of us cared about. He was a must-see kind of dude, and I'm glad I got to see him eat in real time.

    BJ at the combine was 270 and ran a 4.56 with a 37 inch vertical. If he played LB he would have been a hall of famer

    Man when we had Jacobs and Bradshaw as crazy as it seems Bradshaw probably ran harder even though he was 5’8” the two of them would just run the heart out of defenses in the 4th quarter

    I played cb in high school and I must say I was drilled by a running back with a grown man body I swear all I remember is the ball getting snapped and when I regained consciousness I wad told that I was steam rolled trying to make the tackle this video hits home for me. Jacobs was a monster I know he's separated many shoulders of the defense

      Appreciate you! I wanted to specifically highlight and emphasize POWER & SPEED. The play clock video is nice, but it was a short yardage play that didn't showcase his speed or power....

    In 2004 I wanted the NY Giants to draft 6'1" 275lb Greg Jones, RB out of Florida State. I was disappointed when New York passed on him. Then we got Brandon Jacobs. 😊😊😊😊😊

    Dude was the most underrated RB! He was better than Nigerian Nightmare. As a cowboys fan I never understood why he didn’t start over Bradshaw! He was a monster! Loved him and hated him respectfully lol but man those Barber III / Jacobs games were just 2 grown men fighting for 3-4 yrds every dang play!

      At times he did start over Bradshaw especially when healthy beginning of seasons...But it was always 50/50 with them. Bradshaw did really get the keys until way later in his career with the Giants

    This made me tear up cause I remember when Eli and all them were drafted on giants till end for them my dad was with me when I was a freshmen in high school till Eli retired I think for no reason I know Eli still had it but giants lost that power speed and smartness to keep Eli protected and good and run games but my dad past away last year and it hit me seeing this

    Not only he brutally punished dbs with his size. He was quick and fast too.Of course not like prime chris johnson but he was fast as shit for his size. No wonder db's outside of Dawkins couldn't bring him down. He cut around prominent dbs as if he was a slim receiver.

He run like he's an average size back. Like cmon dude. Lower them damn shoulder pads plow through mfers. Stop trying to run around people all the damn time and use that size your're blessed with. Reminds me of the time when Jacobs tried to hurdle over Asante Samuel. Bro Samual weighed 180 soaking wet. Truck his ass.

    Not so much fast, just powerful. He knew how to balance his size at RB. Reminded you of a Buffalo. Not the fastest, but once he broke loose a gained momentum , very hard stop. A freight train 🚂.

    It would take at least 3 tackle attempts every time to bring him down, more often then not. Ironically this vid is just a drop in the bucket, as to his NFL performance. You can watch a hour long video of this stuff. Imagine if he was the only major tool in the box like Henry is, and not 1 of a two headed monster with a Manning at QB along with a Star casted WR room. Remember that time period? A couple SBs, and year after year domination. Then it goes to crap under the Gets foot. Happens to every longer term top team, save for a Brady NE team, and you can witness the changes happening now in the NFL. Don’t care how many MVP seasons a QB has, they all eventually lose it. Or become a great game manager on a young talented team to close out their carrier on a good note.

    He was a beast at running but easily drops after a contact. Henry is more versatile and can balanced himself better after the contact.

      Henry is soft compared to him. Jacobs was faster juked better and straight up hit people unlike henry. However Derek does seem to stay on his feet a lot better when it comes to ankle tackles.

      @@7799layne Henry isn't "soft." If Henry gets a full head of steam he's gone every single time. When he doesn't get into that second or third gear from the initial snap that's where he usually goes down.

    Watching this, what stopped Brandon Jacobs from being legendary is the fact he was the opposite of most top heavy RBs, instead of a strong downhill, and slow acceleration…he had no top speed and a lot of acceleration lol
