Have you ever smoked marijuana? “Yes” How many times? “I don’t know”. Give me an approximate number. “I don’t know. Maybe fifteen-thousand times”. He gives me a weird look. What other drugs have you taken? The guy made me recount literally every drug I took during the 1970s, and made me guess how many times I took it. How many times have you taken LSD? “I don’t know. A couple hundred times, I guess. How many times have you drank cranberry juice?” On and on through every recreational drug known to man at that time. I must have gave him the names of thirty different drugs I "tried”. Later, the liquor store guys read it back to me in the store, laughing their asses off. I wish I had a copy of it! I worked for them for three years.
This is very, very similar to the later Family Guy bit where they play the “have you ever” drinking game and Quagmire ends up saying yes to everything.
