    Hi, I'm new to this candle making.
    I have a question: Do you use your regular kitchen utensils for candle making?
    Or do I need to get some stuff to do it. Thank you in advance ☺️
    In my first candle, I made a cupcake from a mold, not very happy with it. But in my second one, I made my daughter a chocolate cereal bowl

    What’s the ideal temperature range to get the wax to for whipping it?

    • @alexakravcraftystudio
      @alexakravcraftystudio  3 месяца назад

      For whipped wax I don’t actually check the temperature but rather focus on the consistency of the wax. If you already transferred the wax into a piping bag and it’s still too runny, give it a few seconds or minutes, but keep checking so it doesn’t turn hard. It’s a short window!

  • @reign3713

    how do you keep your wax from drying up and clogging your nozzle? i see that your whipped wax is “harder” than mine when you put it in the piping bag but somehow yours dont clog up even tho youre slowly piping and filming

    • @alexakravcraftystudio
      @alexakravcraftystudio  2 года назад +3

      Hi, what is the type of wax that you use? There's so many different kinds. But as long as it's wax for container candles, it shouldn't dry up so fast and clog your nozzle. I experimented a lot with different types of soy wax and one time I used Pillar candle wax and it dried so quickly! But in general that wax is not meant for jar candles.

      real sprinkles, dried flowers, coffee beans etc should def not be used in candles. apart from being a fire hazard they smell terrible when burning.

      No ideal temperature. It’s a bit of trail and error. You just have to keep whisking the wax until you reach the right consistency; not too runny and not too hard.

    How do you stop the wax from harden when you go to put it on the candle? Mine keeps hardening as I go to pipe it

    • @alexakravcraftystudio
      @alexakravcraftystudio  Год назад

      If it’s the right type of wax it won’t harden super fast! Make sure you’re using wax for Container candles, it will stay soft long enough to pipe it.
      Wax that’s used to make candles in molds will harden in seconds when you try to pipe it!

      Alot of those issues are impacted my temperature.... temp of the room, of the glass and of the wax at pouring ... have you tried controlling temps

      @Tara yes definitely there are waxes more proned to frosting and sinkholes but if you have ome that has natural additives for those things then the biggest factor will be temperature... i struggled so hard at the beginning and i knew the room i work in was colder than it should be but i like the cold (dont like the heat) so i didnt want to accept that id have to add a digital temp controlled heater in that room ... after more struggling .... i decided to put thermometors in every room of my house tonsee the difference...and my candle room was 65°f ... and on days it gets cold it drops to about 60..(no insulation in the walls) ... so basically i had to really work to control the room temp and it has helped soooo much. . It has not completely erased frosting or sinkholes but it happens ALOT less now .... sorry for the long story! Goodluck! I hope it helps!

    What kind wax do you use for whipping

  • @MsLiaki
    @MsLiaki Год назад +1

    Hi...I have also tried multiple times this technique and it comes to disaster everytime...I have used wax for molds,the problem here was that it hardens in seconds before even getting it in the pipping bag and I have used soy wax for containers (here in Greece we have vegan soy wax in pellet form and c3 vegan soy wax,I have used the pellet one) and the problem was that when putted inside the pipping bag it would get pretty hard and it wouldn't come out the of the nozzle...I tried getting the nozzle into hot water to make it warmer but nothing changed. Could you maybe give me a tip please :(

    • @alexakravcraftystudio
      @alexakravcraftystudio  Год назад +1

      Yes wax intended for molds will harden very fast! But I’m not sure why the pellet wax you use for container candles also hardens fast.
      The wax I’ve used in the past for container candles was Freedom soy wax or Parasoy-this one is a blend of paraffin and soy but creates beautiful candles with a strong scent!
      Both waxes work great for piping!
