I use the high density gel wax and I use 12%, as long as you test your candles before you sell them? I’ve never had an issue and my customers love not only how beautiful they look but how amazing they smell.
This tutorial is exactly what I was looking for using the layer gel with imbeds and then using soya wax on top. Great tips in this and I really love the first candle exactly what I wanted to know how to do. Thank you for posting this. Have a great day, Cheers!
This is an EXCELLENT tutorial. Thank you for all the essential details that matter. There are way too many people asking the wrong questions. Do your homework!

This IS part of our homework 😮 There are no wrong questions - glad you're not teaching 🙄
Hi Sheri, I am very much a beginner, do you have a video on making the imbeds Please. I want to start making Christmas candles for gifts and the fruit ones look awesome, where do you get your moulds please.
I want to start making gel melts can anyone help me with temperature and when to add colour and fragrance at what temperature should I add them thank you
You pour @ 140C? That's around 284f. Is that a typo or can you get gel wax that hot without burning it? Also, what's the best way to remove bubbles after adding color? Thanks.
You can try using a heat gun and run the heat over the bubbles. That should get rid of them. To avoid the bubbles in the first place stir colour and fragrance oils in very slowly.
Im curious how you put the wick through the strawberry embeds after pouring the white wax layer. Do you cut one strawberry then seal it with wick in the center? Or form the strawberry with the wick, then pour the white to meet the strawberries? Oh do tell
do you actually burn the candle? or is it just for fl decoration to have the wick? also, if you are burning it, what do you do with the wick tab once it’s all gone ?
Did you use normal candle wick or zinc core wick for the strawberry one? cuz there is very little gel wax there so it is okay to use the same wick that we used for soy wax?
Zinc core wicks are very hard to get here in Australia. So if you can’t use them I would recommend sizing up from your normal wick size. I have burnt that candle and it burnt fine as there is only a very small amount of gel
14 дней назад
From my experience in Australia, with wire core wicks (zinc is a no no, so I'm told) there is only small, medium & large and none of them work in my standard 6.5cm jars. Are there others more suitable?
I believe she says that she used soy wax for the embeds.
14 дней назад
Are you sure? Soy wax is far too soft for embeds and will squash when unmolding them. Best wax for embeds is pillar palm (which shrinks upon setting) or paraffin.
@Sheri Vegas Hi, recently Sheri I bought some scented candles at a store. Well, I bought them because they caught my attention about how they were made. They are pillar candles with the top half with soy wax and the bottom half with gel wax. The gel wax part has sea shells... The candle has a kind of hard selofan mold and on the bottom of the candle it says: "remove the mold when burning the candle." Well this id my question now: If I take the plastic mold the gel wax start coming apart a little. What should I do?
I love your videos! I tried doing a under the sea candle but to where the gel wax wouldn’t burn and then fill with wax once it’s set and ready. But some of the gel wax gets on the side of the glass and I try and clean if off it just smears is there a trick to help avoid that?
Hi... Can we make embeds with paraffin wax or soya wax... Like instead of real shells if we make shells with wax and then use them as embeds and piur gel on top... Is it possible
It looks like you can, because in the last example, the strawberries embed and the candle were made of soy wax. Then she added the gel wax last (as a "syrup"). Hope this helps.

You can combine all waxes on different layers/embeds but need to experiment for correct wick size. Usually you need a wick that suits the harder wax
Hi I have a question I am new here and I just watched your video. It will be my first time to learn to make Jell candles. To boil the jell wax do I have to buy a electric stove top? or can I put it on my kitchen stove? What is the best way. And to decorate the fruit for the candle like the strawberries where do I get the moulds from does Amazon Ebay have it. I will be watching more of your videos too. Thank you it has helped me already and I just watched it this morning and you answered all my questions 😊

I use a gas stove with no problems but a kitchen stove works fine too. Temperatures and slow melt are what's important
My gel wax cools off immediately once I take from d heat, and it’s difficult to pour in the mold because it cools off within a second.. why is it happening?!
So I watched your video twice. I watched other videos that I found on this wax more than once and you all say different things. But you all say it should take 20 minutes to prepare or in the microwave two- five minutes however you guys are all wrong. It seems like . Because it took two hours for this wax to even melt with the double boiler technique, which I watch other people do with this wax, I know they are lying and it got stuck in my pouring pot that it wouldn’t even come out. I did it in a wax melting pot that I’ve used for all my waxes and yes I cleaned It and that did not work. So when this new wax comes in I am going to try the microwave technique like some others have suggested maybe that’ll work maybe it won’t. So my question is, what are you doing that I am not doing what are they doing that I’m not doing because you are supposed to help but none of the things you guys are saying seems to be accurate and no matter how many videos I’ve watched none of it adds up to what you guys have stated.
I could have really enjoyed this tutorial but your pronunciation is bad if your going to do tutorials. I can’t concentrate 😬😬 Wiv = with Meford = method Uver = other I’m sorry I may sound like I’m being rude but it’s just so annoying that I had to turn off. I am only pointing this out to you for further videos
I have been making gel candles for years you can use up to 6% fragrance for gel candles and they give a strong hot throw.
I use the high density gel wax and I use 12%, as long as you test your candles before you sell them? I’ve never had an issue and my customers love not only how beautiful they look but how amazing they smell.
I’m just going off what it says on the manufacturer website with the amount of fragrance. I feel like they probably say less to stay on the safe side.

They both look amazing Sheri! Love the strawberry one especially 🍓 X
It’s super cute 🥰

U have explained very well thank u
what size of the wick did you use on the one with the strawberry? does it not affect the gel you pour on the top of the strawberries?

How in the heck can gel candles not be cool? I especially love the floating flower candles, too

Looking forward to make this tutorial. It is very helpful and interesting
Very informative I am starting a candle business

Amazing. It is very creative
I use dye chips all the time and they work perfectly. Don't need liquid dye.
How do you melt them Into the gel?

At what temperature to pour gel wax
Thanks Sheri for information
You pour @ 140C? That's around 284f. Is that a typo or can you get gel wax that hot without burning it? Also, what's the best way to remove bubbles after adding color? Thanks.
Gel wax shouldn’t get any higher than 230 degrees Fahrenheit
You can try using a heat gun and run the heat over the bubbles. That should get rid of them. To avoid the bubbles in the first place stir colour and fragrance oils in very slowly.
Very nice

yes both candles can be burn. once the top of the soy wax is poured you can make pour again.
Hola, a los cuantos grados centígrados hago el vaciado con la cera de gel? Gracias

What kind of gel wax you use low,med or high?

It would have looked amazing if you put the start of the wick inside the shell..
Can You use a vacuum chamber for the Air bubbles?

Can you grate gel wax?
Can ya do a reverse video...of gel and soy...like how to put soy on bottom and gel on top

Yes, follow instructions on the video...
How did you got embeds?
What need materials for candles

Is those really strawberrya how did u make it where they stay fresh
I want to make a gel candle with dry flowers but how do I get them to not float? Is there a certain temp I have to wait for the wax to cool?
Exactly why I came to the comments
Be mindful that most insurance companies will not cover the use of gel wax as it's too unreliable and can be highly flammable by adding flowers etc.
Is ot ok to fire it?
Mine keeps having air bubbles how do I stop this from happening
How to make the strawberry?
What kind of gel wax do you use
Do you use medium or hard gel wax?
Hi... Can we make embeds with paraffin wax or soya wax... Like instead of real shells if we make shells with wax and then use them as embeds and piur gel on top... Is it possible
Yes you can definitely do that
Hey Quick question! So you CAN mix soy wax with gel wax?
It looks like you can, because in the last example, the strawberries embed and the candle were made of soy wax. Then she added the gel wax last (as a "syrup"). Hope this helps.
You can combine all waxes on different layers/embeds but need to experiment for correct wick size.

Whats the best candle website?
Hallo, can anyone give me information, is it save to microwave clear candle?
Try it and see.
Candle making is all about experimenting and testing 😊
Thank you for your reply, I've tried it, but it takes a quite long time, so double boiler it is 😄
@@widhihastuti2813
Do you double boil gel?
I've never tried that but use the gas cooktop on low - it's quick and has the same clarity
Yes I double boil clear candle, bit harder than gel
Can I add polymer clay sprinkles into my candle?
gel AND wax? Do you make videos for just gel candles, too?
So its not regular gel?

Hi! All these melting and pouring temperatures are in C or F in the video?
I'd say Sheri uses celsius being in Australia
Dang, maing candles is expensive🥺so many options.

Is that real sand ?
Hey, where can I Find that wax and the liquid color? Thanks
Amazon
My gel wax cools off immediately once I take from d heat, and it’s difficult to pour in the mold because it cools off within a second.. why is it happening?!
How do you know the flashpoint
Candle suppliers list the properties of their fragrances, including flashpoint temps.
Are those real cherries? Do i need special candle dye or regular food coloring?
Cheers. They are not real. They are soy wax embellishments.
During shipping, will gel wax melt without the lid?
From my experience, it won't melt but it will go soft enough the become deformed in the jar
You cant use colored sand?
Yes you can.
Hi ... Can resin be used instead of paraffin jelly?
Not if you want to burn the candle
Can you tell me what to do if my gel wax is not melting even after half an hour ?
Increase the temp?
How did your strawberries look so bright red ? Is that soy wax strawberries? Or Gel wax strawberries??
I believe she says they are soy wax embellishments (the strawberries).
Is that last candle not a fire hazard? Or at the very least going to make a strange smell?
The strawberry 🍓 candle?
They are not real strawberries. It's a wax embellishment, so not a fire hazard.
Are these real strawberries??
What size wick are you using??? If you are teaching how to do it why don’t you say wick size?
You said not to add fragrance
Flowers are a fire hazard. Wish more people knew this…. Nearly burned my house down
That is why they are not in the candle part. The wick does not go down into the flowers
Does she ever answer the questions
I am sorry, are you saying 60 degrees or 160 degrees? No way you let the wax sit at 60 degrees that’s go cold
Gel wax mixed up with soy wax after a month? How to prevent this? Any tips
