I found out that you do not have to hoop the shirt with the mesh also. Just hoop the tear away only then float the shirt with fusible poly mesh over the hooped tear away. And pin it down. It will come out great. :P
Sorry I am a bit confused, I’m guessing the fusible is between the poly mesh and the TShirt, so after you cut away the poly mesh, does or should the area around the appliqué or embroidery on the TShirt still have fusible stuck to it?
The fusible is the polymesh and is ironed onto the back inside of the shirt. Then I hoop some tear away along with the shirt. Once done stitching, I take the item out of the hoop and tear away the tear away stabilizer. Then I trim the fusible close to the stitching to remove to excess. The stabilizer that is inside of the design I leave there and do not remove that.
If you do this, do you still need to out Tender Touch over it for children's sensitive skin? I am very new to this and trying to figure it all out. Thank you for your videos.
Yes! This is used to stabilize the shirt or item you are sewing the design onto. Tender Touch is completely different in that it is used at the end of sewing your design and ironed onto the back of the shirt to cover the stitching.
Hi, thank you for this video! I do have a question about the no show mesh! I have used the fusible and the non-fusible no-show mesh. It seems that it shrinks. Do you have any suggestions regarding this or any tips or experience with this? Thank you so much!
Stabilizer does not stretch. It is not a knit so does not have any give to it. Interfacing is meant to give structure and body to the item. Stabilizer is meant to add support for the item being embroidered on. They are different.
@@CreativeAppliques Hi I am new in this beautiful world. My question is why to use fusible stabilizer and them tera way ? Can I use one one of stabilizer ?
@@alinaxoxoxox6241 I iron on the polymesh fusible to the back of the shirt. I cut it so it is larger than the design I am sewing onto the shirt, BUT it is not large enough to hoop. The cut away stabilizer is large enough to fill the hoop and add support to the shirt and is all hooped together. As I like to say, your project is only as stabile as the support it has. And that support is the stabilizer. Without proper stabilization, your projects will not turn out well. This is the process that has worked best for me. It might be different for you. So give it a try and see. Rule of thumb is, if the item can stretch in any way, then a cutaway is a must! Cutting corners by using less or cheaper stabilizer will in the end cost more money and time. Don't sacrifice or compromise just to save pennies and in the end sanity ;) Good luck!
It would be great to know what brand you prefer. Years ago I read on the topic and tested a few mesh stabilizers. Some seems to shrink more than others with the heat. I finally found a brand I like Inspira but would love to know what else works great.
this is the one I like the best. But I would test it first to make sure you like how it works. I have not found it to shrink but everyone washes their items differently. Here is the link: amzn.to/31oc023
It is similar but not the same thing. When doing machine embroidery, you do not use interfacing. You need to use stabilizer. Stabilizer adds an extra layer of support for the density of the stitching and the thickness of the fabric you are sewing on. I hope that makes sense and answers your question.
I want to add to this question: I am wanting to make placemats, and was wondering if I first embroider with stabilizer, then interface and finish the placemat with a lining, or first interface, then embroider with stabilizer and finish with a lining?
Hello :) thank you for the video even it was 2 years ago I use water soluble stabiliser however I don’t like the loose threads and I’m looking for a cover up Could I iron it on after I’ve embroidered to help cover up the loose threads ?
I'm really struggling with stabilizers for dense sweatshirt designs. If you ironed the cutaway to the fabric, how do your remove the extra after stitching?
Yes. I pull the extra stabilizer away from the sweatshirt and trim it closely to the stitching leaving about 1/4". I do not cut away the stabilizer from the inside of the design on an applique, for example.
I use it for added support since I typically do not hoop the fusible iron on stabilizer. Something needs to be hooped with the item, so I use tear away to hoop with the item. Thank you so much for watching!
Yes! Hoop the tear away and then the item you are sewing onto. After finishing, unhoop, tear away the tear away and trim close to the fusible. Thanks so much for watching.
I'm totally confused....on the shirt that you just showed us it looked like you just used polymesh? I did not see the tear away.....Can someone please explain? Can a person embroider/applique with just polymesh? It sure looked like it was just poly when she clipped around it....Can you help Creative appliques
Hi Lynette! You can see the tear away on the inside of the candy corn when I flipped the onesie inside out. Check out timestamp 4:40 to see the tear away. When I sewed the onsie, I ironed on the fusible to the inside of the onsie. Then I hooped the tear away and the onesie with the fusible ironed on. I prefer to use both since it gives more stability while sewing but can be removed afterwards so there is less bulk. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for watching 💕
So to a T shirt, I need to………1. Iron on a no show fusible mesh to the wrong side of the Tee. 2. Hoop 2 layers of no show mesh plus one or two layers of TearAway, and my Tee.3. After my item is all stitched up, Cut off the no show and Tear Away as close to the stitches as possible without touching the stitches.
Here is my process: 1. Iron on fusible poly mesh stabilizer onto the back of the knit 2. Hoop tear away stabilizer WITH the shirt 3. After stitching, tear away stabilizer and trim no show close to stitching. Thanks for watching!
hi there! i was wondering, could i use a fusible stabilizer on a hoodie? i plan to do an embroidery on the back of the hoodie and i'd like to know if washing it would deform the stitches after. thank you!! :')
If the hoodie is for a friend or someone you know, I would suggest washing it before hand in order to have it shrink if that is an option. But, yes! Either way, I would use fusible stabilizer.

I have not had issues with shrinking. I was everything in cold water only and use low heat dryer.
Hi, is the Fusible Stabilizer the same as fusible interfacing? thanks.
Stabilizer does not stretch. It is not a knit so does not have any give to it. Interfacing is meant to give structure and body to the item. Stabilizer is meant to add support for the item being embroidered on. They are different.
Could i use a medium iron on stabilizer in stead of SF101 interfacing on fabric? Project already has No Show Mesh Cut Away Stabilizer in the hoop
Very much appreciated. Thanks 😊
You’re welcome 😊
I love your appliqués ! In your video, did I hear you say that you used a medium tearaway behind the polymath ?
Yes! I iron the fusible polymesh onto the item. Then I hoop the item together with medium tear away stabilizer for added support.

I buy World Weidner No show fusible Poly mesh it works great and don't shrink up like others.
Thank you

I odered fusible 1,8oz can I still use this for tee shirts
That is the correct one. That is the one I use. Thanks for watching!

Does the fusible stabilized replace interfacing?

Is the fusible Sulky Soft & Sheer the same as this?
sounds like it might be. But this one is fusible.
So the mesh in this video that you cut away was fusible? Fusible doesn’t stay on permanently?
So you have to use tear away still as well?
I use it for added support since I typically do not hoop the fusible iron on stabilizer. Something needs to be hooped with the item, so I use tear away to hoop with the item. Thank you so much for watching!
@@CreativeAppliques I thought you used cutaway? I am totally confused....I've read all the posts and it switches to tear away, then cut away.....
Where can I buy the hook to remove stabilizer?
You can find them here: amzn.to/43tDm7V Thanks for watching!
You mention tear away but you don’t show it. I’m confused do you tear way that layer & then cut the fusible layer?
Yes! Hoop the tear away and then the item you are sewing onto. After finishing, unhoop, tear away the tear away and trim close to the fusible. Thanks so much for watching.
Can I float the item while using fusible poly mesh?
You will still need to hoop some kind of stabilizer in order to float the item. It is always best to hoop the item along with the stabilizer.
Would you use this for linen napkins ?! Thank you !
Yes you can!
Can I also float my item using fusible poly?
I do not suggest floating unless there is no way to hoop the item. Floating is saved for something that cannot be hooped 💕
can I use this on minky fabric?
The thing about minky, it does not like irons and heat very much LOL I would use a cut away instead. Thanks for watching
What is : binding web? Does that replace stabilizer?
I am not familiar with that product so cannot offer guidance for how to use it.
