Such a shame. Happened to a hard working kid who came from a great family that was so happy to see their boy succeed. If anyone can overcome a devastating event like this in the best way possible it would be this family. Wishing them nothing but the best and hope Ben continues to improve.

I broke c2, c3 and c4. Lucky to be alive. Had no idea my neck was broken. Not football related.

Fourteen months is only a little over a year. I'm assuming it was a complete injury. Still, it took me three plus years ti et anything back. I had a similar injury...but was incomplete...C4 was dislocated and broken. I'm watching this five years later, and I don't know if there were any improvements...but please don't think after a year, nothing will happen.
A spinal cod injury completely changes the life of the injured but also turns the life's of his family upside down To provide the 24 hour care needed. They, too, need "care".
The tackle didn't seem very hard at all, but the injury was devastating, so sad!

As a football player this always scares me because you can still get hit soft but it’s the way you’d spinal cord takes it and it’s all Radom you can hit hard head first sometime p.s don’t do that and one moment you can lead with you head up the right way and still get paralyzed.

One would think that after injuries like this, football would be discontinued. But no.
Love how capitalism even milk such a tragedy and make it seem his injury is a joyous occasion for him and the family. Putting it out that way that he says he remembers football fondly for all you know it brings back such horrifying memories just so that as they say "The show must Go on".

@@benq7617 I'm not saying ban all contact sports. We can make some safer, but football is dangerous to its core. If it's not paralysis, it's CTE. I enjoy football, but its banishment would save lives.
