For outswing exterior french doors, the hinges are outside, but generally come with security hinges with a pin that can't be easily popped out. That being said, one could still attack the hinges. Honestly, though, most locks people choose are easier targets than popping security hinges and the giant sheet of glass is a close 2nd place.
Plumb refers to something being straight up and down, or truly vertical. It is used to describe walls, among other things. Level refers to something being straight from side to side, or horizontal. It is used to describe surfaces like floors.
This door is mounted backwards. The metal weather strip at the bottom goes outside not inside. Most important is the SECURITY strip that protects the latch is INSIDE when it SHOULD BE OUTSIDE!
Because the customer asked for it to be an outswing rather than an inswing. The manufacturers give us these options, and is a case by case how they get handed and direction of swing.
There are exterior hinges for this who don’t know… Door ain’t backwards… or else people would be able to unscrew the door from the outside. The hinges can’t be taken out like a regular door either
Video sucks, you didn't show anything useful, what was put on bottom of the door (caulking, liquid nails?), did you caulk before putting on the sides? What was the bottom plate, concrete, wood. No details no likes.
How are you retrofitting into a rough opening?! That will 100% leak in my experience…? Nothings tied off to paper. Enlighten me Sean I watch all your videos and love them!!! I’m a certified Anlin dealer/installer in the OC area
They had fresh paint that was just applied, and we added a cut line above the door opening 1" deep, and added polyurethane to shed the water around the opening if there was to be any water under the stucco. Typically the frames are left behind, but in this case we had a special case.
Just browsed this topic: sliding door removal and installing French doors. This happen to be second video that was same, just before and after lol. I wanted to know entire process to be inform before I get quote. Or even attemp DIY LOL
Are hindges supposed to be outside or inside? To me hindges outside is a security issue.

Why didnt you show the frame removal?
yeah why is the door installed inside-out?
Thank you we love this RUclips!

Very helpful. I am doing that same thing and I like to review! Good Job Thanks
Its amazing . I like your job. Luis from PARAGUAY.
Shouldn’t the hinges be on the inside??
This door is mounted backwards. The metal weather strip at the bottom goes outside not inside. Most important is the SECURITY strip that protects the latch is INSIDE when it SHOULD BE OUTSIDE!
Hilarious!
I was just going to ask why the hinges were outside that scares me bc I know how to remove a door by popping those hinges out
This video is how NOT to install your door. No silicone? No foam?
The threshold is mounted on the door frame. Inswing or outswing is a personal preference.
It is backwards! That's what I thought
Will this pass inspection when trying to sell the house? Looks like it’s backwards that’s why I’m asking
What brand of door is that?
Why are the door hinges on the outside!? Doesn't seem very practical from a security perspective!!🤔
If a door swings outwards… the hinges cannot be on the inside. Think about it.
Those hinges are tamper proof. They are made for outswing applications.
Where can I purchase those hinges?
Aren't the doors supposed to swing IN? What am I missing here??
The door is designed for the hinges to be on the outside. It is not backwards.
You skipped a lot of steps in this video. Do you plan to update it and show the initial sliding door removal and caulking?
Great job!
Nice job!!!
How much do you guys charge??
how do you fill the gaps
Youre checking plumb AFTER you screw it to the studs????🤣
Why does this door swing out?

@@americanwindowconcepts5510 thank you
@@JeffLudy You are very welcome!
Customers are crazy I just installed some doors that open the wrong way even against the toilet there was no changing there mind
What a about sealing the entrance from outside?
There are exterior hinges for this who don’t know…

What if the frame below the door ain't true? You're gonna have to shim the bottom.
The hinges are on the outside because this is an outswing door. It is not installed inside out.
What just happened! You were vacuuming the sill plate and the next thing we see is rotating the new door in the hole. You missed a LOT.
Brand? What should customers look for in French Doors?
This was an Anlin Malibu French Door.
If you want to waste time watch this, because they don't show how to do anything important.cheers
I’m trying to learn how to do this but I feel like you left out A LOT of information…
What no weatherizing?
Video sucks, you didn't show anything useful, what was put on bottom of the door (caulking, liquid nails?), did you caulk before putting on the sides? What was the bottom plate, concrete, wood. No details no likes.
That's what I really want done.. I wonder how much?
How big of a door is the one you want to replace?
This is costing me $6,900 in Ellenwood, Ga.
How are you retrofitting into a rough opening?! That will 100% leak in my experience…?

Even had loud music playing so I couldn't hear anything he was saying during important parts. Worthless!
I have seen meme videos more instructional than this
You didn't really show how to install it. You skipped a bunch.
Tell me you don’t know what you’re doing without telling me you don’t know what you’re doing lol it’s installed backwards
This video wasn’t helpful at all. I am not a professional and even I know this was done incorrectly.
Calling plumb level? 😂
All videos of people wearing masks need to be removed from the internet.
one of the most uninformative examples i have seen Ramon

you are absolutely correct. thanks for sharing!
This is installed wrong 😂
the door should swing inwards, installed wrong and very embarrassing..!!
Here in Florida, patio doors are typically installed OUTSWING, due to better protection against the wind pressure of hurricanes.
This is backwards 😂😂😂
