When I was a kid. Toys R Us was like visiting a amusement park. Hundreds of toys/bikes/games etc. So exciting. I believe their downfall was their prices were so high. Even when it was brought to their attention. They still was higher than all of the similar stores.
I miss Toys R Us so damn much🥺 Kid's in the 2020's and beyond are rlly gunna miss out on what 80's, 90's, and 2000's (And Semi 2010's-ish) kids adored so much in our youths!🥺😭😭😭

Bro the reason why I subscribe to this dude in the first place was because he is the only guy that does explore the whole city view shopping center that I can find on RUclips and like he shows you the whole place he doesn’t just show you like parts he shows you the whole entire place Plus like when he does the Kmart videos Ames like I wasn’t around that time so it’s cool to see what inside of those places look like and especially how far they’ve gone downhill too
I remember our Toys R Us as a kid growing up in Ft Myers FL in the mid 70’s & into the 80’s. I think I applied to work there part time at some point. Now I wish I’d taken the job. Those gloomy storm clouds over the store there in NC speak volumes for the sad demise of Toys R Us. Thanks for sharing some good memories with us Wallie! 👍

mine had windows for the whole main section but other than that it’s the same. it was empty with the sign still up until about half a year ago when bob’s furniture went in there
that sewer pump you mentioned was installed after the store closed. right behind those trees are the sewer lines n was just recently turned into a greenway.

I remember going there to pick out Toys as a reward for a good report card and to make out my birthday and Christmas lists!
We have an abandoned Toys R Us in Greensboro, NC as well. Used to go there occasionally before it closed. Asheboro, NC has an abandoned Kmart that has been closed for about 20 years now.
I don't know if you are affected by the gas shortage but keep an eye on Gasbuddy in the locations you'll be in. Anyway I bought my Playstation from Toys R us I think. I know I got a few games including when Final Fantasy VII first came out. They still had a Super NES out as a playable display. They had a few games like Super Mario RPG, Killer Instinct, a few others I cant recall. Sears was the place to go to play Sega Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog. I really miss the 90s. Had some great memories in these stores. We also had Funcoland before it got bought out by Gamestop.

My toys r us closed down to and now they are putting in a place called Micro Center and they’ve repainted the inside and they’ve took down the doors and they’ve made room for a new entrance so that’s what my toys r us will be now

I worked at the Mesquite, Tx TRU for seven years and the only thing I have from that time is a TRU letterman's jacket.

Fargo had a couple of Kmarts though if you tell me 2 closed in February 1995 1 closed in April 2003 and 1 closed in December 2019
