You could buy a full metal intake from a Mustang they fit. I had one on my 05 link Lincoln town car.

Intake manifold will be my next repair, first time for me @ 170,000 km. I have a tiny leak near Cylinder 7 and had been having a hard time trying to get my hands on the pi oem crown vic manifold or even the 2004 Mustang GT pi intake manifold. They back ordered me till Dec 31 which isn't going to work in the short term... so i already ordered a cheap autoshack manifold to fix for now while I wait for my pi intake. Thanks for tip on the A-Premium brand, I will have to check out if they have any long runner version suited for late model vics with pi engines for the next time I repair this part.

Mine blew at the same spot feeding into the heater core on my commute to work one morning. Og plastic manifold at about 170,000 kms. Very traumatic experience on the highway. Thankfully she’s all fixed up now but great video explaining the other spot at the back of the intake which isn’t always as common as the obvious leak or blowout at the front.

I actually bought my 1996 Town Car with a bad intake, then I had to replace it again 60k later because the guy over-torqued it causing premature failure, btw don't let just anyone work on your vehicle, I do all my own repairs now. Luckily for me, my current 08 Crown Vic had a brand new intake installed while it was still in service so I don't have that to worry about. I've already put 20k on it in less than a year.

What is the torque on the screws when installing the new ones? Thanks

I just pulled that heater hose. Tough clamp. Trying to get at the fan resistor.

Will the intake in the link fit my 2007 Lincoln Signature lim?

Known problem. The factory plastic intake can only take so many heat cycles. Dorman makes a very good replacement for far less than Motorcraft part. I installed 2 Dormans on 2 different 4.6's and both have over 100K miles on them with no problem. Proper torque values are critical as always.

How are you using the P71 intake box did you use the MAF sensor from the lincoln or oem P71 ? I tried it on my lincoln with the lincoln MAF and it doesn’t like it starts making chain sounds, would like to know bcz i only got the piece that goes behind the headlight lol

Hey Sam, on a different topic, I’m looking for Lincoln and signature L badges for my 2011. Where can I find them and do you have any videos on how to replace? Thanks for your time and your videos are the best!!

I just bought a 2010 with 54,000 miles and I am shocked that the last model year of 2011 still has a problem with leaking intake manifold. They have had it since the 90s. They should have made improvements over the years and had it solved by the last year of production? When you had to take off the intake manifold at 90,000+ miles that was probably the original UIM. What type was it? Built in gaskets or separate gaskets with the nib inserts? What had happened to the old one? Did it melt or degrade the actual plastic manifold or was gasket material ruined or missing?
I have a 1995 Buick 3800 and they did the same not so great job of solving the leaking UIM. They also had plastic elbows that leaked. Metal ones fixed that for good though. But even with improved UIM they still had some leaks.

Yes. Usually it'll misfire before anything. Check your plugs and coils. Coolant will leak into spark plug
