Thank you for sharing your enormous experience with us. Your ability to explain how to perform each stitch has been the perfect way to teach me. Another Fabulous piece ❤
Pansies remind me of walking through my grandma’s garden. She would always tell me they all had little smiles on their faces. Thank you for sharing your amazing designs and techniques. 🥰
Really enjoyed watching you work with your stumpwork flower, I always thought it was much more involved than that and realise now that I could try it. Thanks again for sharing you have inspired us again with your stitching. TLC
Hi, Marion! 💜 You’ve sent me to the internet again. I’ve been looking at images of stumpwork. It’s an amazing technique. Hey, I really admire your willingness to get the pansy just right, even if you have to make another petal. I totally got your explanation about where to put the long-and-short stitches. Your instructions along with the video images made it easy to follow. I know exactly what you’re doing even when it’s not so clear on the screen. I just love your channel. 💜💜💜
I can't wait for part 2 hehe, I have learnt something new again today from you, Thank you Marion.❤ You make me relaxed watching and listening to your calm voice, so I try to save your videos for when I need to have a rest, ( but I am not very patient ) then you fire me up for some more crafting 😅 I love your pansy so far and am really looking forwards to Saturday's extra video too 🤗 I have been making a few bracelets this week, but kept dropping them right when tying then off, 🤦♀️ and having to re thread all the beads again, but I persevered. Take care. Kim 🤗🌈
Once again stunning work. You made me chuckle when you said, "I'm holding my breath"........ because I am sure we were all holding ours too for you. I love how fearless your approach to anything is, and this in itself is definitely inspiring. ❤
Marion, thankyou for this lesson👏🤗 I am keen to try stump work now😊 It won't be as easy as you made it look but will be worth persevering with😄. I live in Australia and my Mother always called these flowers "hearts ease" I have always loved them because they self seed and pop up in the most unexpected places.👏🤗 Your work is beautiful🌻🦋
Absolutely stunning. I really enjoyed watching that video and now have learnt a totally new thing for me. Always wondered what and how stumpwork was and how it’s done. Thank you. Really beautiful ❤❤❤❤
You'll definitely have to give it a go! It's not as difficult as you might think. Just be careful to get the wire covered well. That's the most important thing that keeps everything stable.
So inspiring Marion! Thank you for sharing. I’ve done some stumpwork using the wire from those little plastic bag kitchen ties as it is very easy to bed for smaller stumpwork items. Cheers, Christine
Hi,again, from North Branch, MN. I haven’t thought of stumpwork in a long time. My mind is reeling with the possibilities. Your videos are my favorite of all the ones I have been keeping up with. Your world is a lot like mine but you get the job done where mine is all in my mind. I have a lot of projects that I am working on but they don’t seem to get done. I still want to make your scones and non churn ice cream.
Oh...I'm so pleased you like what I'm showing! I don't know any other way to do things at the moment. I just thought other people are more professional in the way they can video things. I'm a novice at all of that technology stuff I'm afraid!
Well I definitely used to be. Nowadays I realise that it's okay if things have little mistakes here and there. It's more important to enjoy what I'm doing, than to be disappointed with something because it's not perfection. But I'm not bothered by having to do something again though..😅
I like stumpwork. I’ve actually got a stumpwork fairy on one hoop to finish. It’s only been on there for four years! This might nudge me to do more to it. Too many projects on the go. Enjoyed watching your process of work Marion.
I am learning so much from you! I have watching your videos to decide what I need to find or purchase…I have some sewing leftover scraps…so will be fun to sort it out! Plus will give me a boost to get it done!😮
@@marionsworld24 I watch you and the Lady who had a book a lot. Jennifer Clouston. But I have so much enjoyed your videos. Sorry I mixed you up with someone else. Your very interesting.
Oh my. I have never watched someone do this kind of embroidery technique before. I think this is fabulous. Who taught you this? It is wonderful to have different styles to choose from. I have never seen this flower before, as I have lived in California and now Arizona, we do not have all the lovely wild flowers here. I have to say I really love them. I so appreciate all that you have shown us, it is magnificent to watch it come along. I am so thankful I have come across your channel, it is enlightening. You are a lovely lady and teacher. I will be watching your jewely ones too. Have a blessed day. Thank you.
No-one taught me to do this type of embroidery Michelle. My Mam taught me to sew and crochet, my Grandma taught me to knit and to do different embroidery stitches. I was probably about 6 or 7 years old. As I got to my teenage years I just wanted to learn how to do more. The library was my friend....every book on sewing , embroidery, all sorts of crafting. I taught myself as much as I could. And I've been learning ever since. The bonded fabric technique is something I learned just a few weeks ago. There is always something to find out about...!
Thank you so much for the answers. I think that our stitching is not taught so much anymore. Only very few people still have skill. Thank you so much for learning and passing on this beautiful craft for all of us to learn.@@marionsworld24
Wow!!! Amazing!!! I have never seen this done...I can do simple embroidery but you are amazing with the work that you do....I want you to know that you really lift me up when I am down....thank you so much for sharing your talents and for inspiring me to step out of my comfort zone to learn something new!!! Blessings to you Marion 🤗
I had never heard of stump work before. I went reading about it and it is quite fascinating. Thanks for sharing this. I love doing slow stitching, but this takes it to another level!! Your work is so lovely!!
Wow! I didn’t understand what stump work is. Gorgeous! Playing with my new Inktense and having a blast. Thank you for inspiring me. Hugs and blessings, ❤️🤗🇨🇦
😂 I used to keep it all neat, but years ago just stopped. As long as I don't pull the threads tight I can get any colour out. The funny thing is... I used to unravel and wind my Grandma's threads when I was little. I'd spend hours winding each piece onto a little cardboard bobbin. Now.. I quite like the colours all together, even though I keep my main threads all wound beautifully 😊
Thinking about it. In the old days there wouldn't have been a choice. So I'll wait and see how it all looks at the end. Normally you can't see fabric. It may be I just didn't trim it close enough because I wasn't doing it through the magnifier and was being super careful....
Wow! I can’t wait either to see how you do the leaves 🤔. Although you have trimmed so close to the wire, you can still see a tiny edge of white fabric so could you colour it maybe with your inktense blocks? (Which are on offer in Hobbycraft at the moment, but only the 12 tin) Thanks so much for sharing this technique ❤
I never made stumpwork but I know what it is. You explain it very well. Do you know Salley Mavor? she makes beautiful creations with felt. She use metal wire around the petals and works around it many times with different stitches. Looks a bit like stumpwork. Your pansy looks already beautiful.
Ooooo what a lovely technique! I was staring intently while you were cutting 👀 😅. My cat Saber loves your videos! He’s always running over to watch and this time he really wanted to “help” you put the threads through 🤭🤣. If I may ask, what type of camera did you get? It focuses tea nicely and I’m still trying to find one I like! Excellent video, I will have to try it! 🤗😘🥰🫶💞
Well I'm cat approved now!.... A Sony ZV1 It's been easier than my phone, that's for sure! Now I just have to work out a way to film straight down onto the embroidery somehow... I feel a contraption making day coming on!
