Lovely! Now I’ve learned another stitch that I can try. Marion, your videos really make me think. I appreciate your company. The background noises are a normal part of a chit-chat. It’s real!
What a cutie daisy!!! I am learning so much from you Marion, thank you! You are absolutely right. There are several little tutorials online that teaches the stitching technique, but does not show how it can be used in a project like you do! Love it! I am also so excited you have more videos coming up! I will never be overwhelmed by your videos. Keep them coming ❤❤❤❤❤ Have a lovely day.
I love the Daisy ! I’m going to use those pedals for my ears on my Easter Bunnies. Watching your creativity has made me braver to do my own thing. Thank you, so much. You are great!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Marion, thank you so very much for the daisy. Your videos are the first I seek out in the morning and come back to all day. God Bless you for sharing the beautiful gifts He has given you. Virginia, USA
Yes please to more of your tutorials! You are an excellent teacher, nicely pacing your instructions and editing well. Your daisy page is beautiful, I think you need one or two on your yellow dress!
Thanks for the vote of confidence Fran. All this filming and editing is so new to me and it seems to take me ages. I think I'm getting good at cutting stuff out! Talk about the cutting room floor.....!
Thanks for sharing! That was the perfect thread for the daisy! You are right about USING THE STITCHES…I have thought about doing a stitch book, but I thought why? This is the perfect answer!😊
I just received a heart hug 🤗 ❤ I just love it when I get a new message from my friend Marion!!! Your Daisy is awesome!!! You always brighten my day!!! Thank you and many blessings to you ❤
Oh...you're so welcome Sheryl. I'm so pleased you're enjoying my little videos. Hope you're having a lovely day. It's all sunny and warm here in the UK...
Good afternoon Marion, thank you for a beautiful inspiring video, and the instructions are so clear . The daisy, are beautiful, yes please to more videos, think I learn alot from you . Soft hugs Teresa xx
It may be a simple page, but it is beautiful. I'am 2 years older then you are, and yes...no internet, no computers, only books to learn everything. I still have a lot of books, it is easy to pick up a book and look for ideas. But the last years I love you tube too. I was a little later to watch you video. I finished the hexies and made a small doll bed quilt with the leftovers. I see you made another bird video today. I will watch it somewhere this week.
Thank you Marjan 😊 I only recently started to look at RUclips..... When I posted the very first little 2 minutes of my first book I didn't realise other people would be able to look at it 😂 I thought I had to give people the link to it so they could have a look 🤣 Now I realise just how much amazing work is on here it's opened up a whole new world!
I can think of so many applications for this stitch! Even with freeform embroidery. I have been busy with charity knitting and crochet this month, but come October I am going to flex creative muscles! Thank you
Oh amariin that was absolutely wonderful and so beautiful! I’ve yet again learnt something new from you. Oh and don’t worry about background noises if you ever watch Corrine from “To Be Loved Treasures by Corrine” you will hear her precious dog Bandit howling! It is absolutely hilariously cute and we all get so much joy hearing the antics Bandit and Pepper (the digs) and dear little Fudge the cat get up to. It’s just gorgeous. Love hearing the sound of Boo talking to you and letting us know his news for the day. Soooo very sweet. 😁😁🥰🥰
Loved this ! I’m a complete beginner, but feel that I could try a Daisy now 😊. It took me way back to my childhood. We watched a programme at school , a highlight of the week. The intro was that tune, we all used to sing along and I’ve sung it ever since💕. Thank you
I'm so pleased that the way I've shown it has made you want to try it Yvonne. There are lots of stitches that you might think are difficult, but in reality they're really not. As always, practice makes everything easier to do. But you have to start somewhere, and, as long as you're enjoying yourself, what's the worst that can happen? Let me know how you get on with it.... good luck!
Thank you for that Linda. I've never taught embroidery to anyone before. Unless you count showing my daughter how to stitch years ago that is! I'm so happy you think I'm a good teacher!
The detached woven Picot stitch is lovely and I can see it being used for rabbit ears, carrots (orange) or corn (yellow) in a design. Thanks for showing us how. By the way I didn't even hear a plane and the dog and cat sounds were not loud at all.
Marion I know you did this vidio a yr ago but I have only just seen it and I loved it so I'm going to giv it a go. It looks hard but you make it seem so much simpler so thanku!..
They're lovely to stitch. Just make a practice one first with a thicker thread and you'll get the idea. It really isn't difficult, but maybe a little fiddly. Happy Stitching 🪡
Beautiful as usual Marion. Please keep the past videos up as I’m not ready yet and I so want to make a flower book with you from start to finish as a set project for myself. Tutorials are a brilliant idea, especially as you say, to actually use them in a project we can follow along with. 🪡🧵
They won't be going anywhere Dawn. Also I've just tried to make a playlist for each of the books. I'm learning a lot myself about to to run the channel as I hadn't done anything like it before!
My mind is churning, thinking about other ways to use this beautiful technique. I’m thinking of raised scales on a reptile, or the body of a dragonfly or butterfly, or even a pine cone! Thank you Marion!
Yes please time to breathe in between projects! I'm breathless at your pace Marion 😅. I used to enjoy making woven leaves and tallies when I began making bobbin lace in the '80s not realising I would also stitch them when I did more embroidery years later. I've made them more in different thicknesses of Perle depending on what I was stitching I think. Wasn't it fun making Daisy chains years ago? Another lovely page we've enjoyed you creating. Thanks.
I used to love making daisy chains... in fact I still make them occasionally. Do you still make bobbin lace? I can do easy patterns but was thinking of joining a class to learn more.
@@marionsworld24 I've made Torchon, Bedfordshire. Bucks Point, Honiton and a little Needlelace until going to a lace group once a month twenty years ago when I'd have bad headaches for a day or two afterwards - probably caused by me getting more hunched over the day as I worked I realised later! - and by then I'd joined a branch of The Embroiderers' Guild and was going to quilting classes (until they weren't considered educational!). Thus slow growing lace got left behind and I always had difficulty beginning a piece without a teacher. Due to my husband being in the RAF until 1999 we moved around a little so I generally muddled through but I enjoyed it. I've met some lovely people through the years and still keep in touch with some. Even when I was in Germany I had fun trying to buy stranded cottons in a shop for a couple of small tablecloths with transfer patterns printed on them. I have to follow someone else's ideas as yourself and some other people I've met just naturally produce a breathtaking piece. I love stitching but even when I've finished a piece hate making it into its final stage in case I ruin many hours of work by cutting badly/bungling a join. That's me and I don't like time limits etc as it's stressful and I lose the enjoyment but I still make gifts if I plan well ahead. We've just booked a few days in London to see our daughter and celebrate my husband's birthday a few days early in October so we're crossing fingers the train strikes won't be on our chosen dates as I'm heading for a day at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace! I haven't been for years but I really want to go. I've wool in my stash for 3 winter sweaters so I'll concentrate on the stitching side. So annoying not to rely on public transport!☹️

Thank you Marion, another beautiful page! I love the daisy petal technique. So simple yet so effective. Looking forward to the next video.
Love how those woven picot petals elevated that central daisy amongst the painted ones. They'd make great ears for a rabbit or hare too 😀
They certainly would! Also they can just be done singly to edge a stitched border along with some other stitches too.
