I’ve learned new embroidery stitches from this page !!! Marion, you have done such a wonderful job with this flower book ! I enjoy listening to you talk too ! Thank you !!! Beautiful forget me nots !!!! 💜💜💜
So very pretty. 😍 Watching you stitch this page brought back a lovely memory for me. I remember as a little girl walking to my Nan's house. The lady who lived on the corner was in her garden as I passed by. She smiled and recited a verse, as she gestured to her bed filled with forget-me-nots. The verse escapes me now. I remember the gentle pace at which she spoke, the volume of her voice, and the poem ending with something like 'the gentle blue forget-me-knots. ' It was one of those sweet fleeting moments in life that had long lasting impact. I have held a real fondness for forget-me-knots ever since then. 😊
Thanks for sharing that Leanne. Memories like that sometimes catch you unaware. I love remembering the forget me nots at Grandma's house. She didn't really have a garden...more like a wild patch of grass and wild flowers with the odd rose here and there.
Hi Marion your little Forget-Me-Nots are so beautiful! I have always loved them too! We call them Violas here and I have lots in my pots around the place. You are so inspiring and very talented with your ingenious way of embroidering. Thank you for sharing. TLC
Sunday FunDay with Marion’s World! What a lovely page. Forget-Me-Nots are so pretty. The pink/blue thread you used was perfect. The puff stitch is so cute, can’t wait to try! I am imagining a field of Forget-Me-Nots with a few mountains in the background. I am so glad you are keeping busy, this means many many many more videos in our future….. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your sewing with us here in this format. I love listening and learning. You make me feel like I could do well on something similar. Thank you again for showing us your beautiful stitching!! ❤
Just to add she calls that St with the pin petal stitch. I haven't embroidered since I was at school which was along time ago but I remember mu mum doing it on tablecloths you could buy with the pattern drawn on, my favourite were the crinoline ladies holding a bouquet of flowers, happy memories thanks to you ❤
Definitely petal stitch. I've seen some comments saying variations on lazy daisy. But it's not made in the same way. The nearest I can think of is popcorn stitch, but there the loops are made without the aid of a pin. My first embroideries were made as a child using such patterns that came on transfers which were ironed on to whatever you wanted to stitch on.
As long as I can remember, the forget-me-not is my favorite flower. There are a few in my garden, but not as much as I would like. I love your blue/pink yarn, it makes the flower so real.
Welll my goodness!!!!! I’ve just learnt something very new. What a beautiful stitch with the forget-me-nots!!! Amazing. Ohhhhhhh why would anyone want to get rid of forget-me-nots. I’d be sad too. Love them. So gorgeous. I wrote about them for mum (at her funeral recently) and it did put a smile on everyone’s faces. ❤❤❤ This just has to be my favourite flower page yet. Besides roses and orchids forget-me-nots are in my favourite 3 flowers. My fourth are Helibores.
I'm with you there Melinda! People always wanted rid of forget me nots and foxgloves. I think because they're native and seed themselves about people couldn't see the value in them. All the flowering plants from other countries had to be nurtured and cossetted. I like them all... but still like the lovely native flowers that grown without being demanding!
I don't known about brave.... I'm just not bothered if I make a mistake... Sometimes mistakes mean you go forward in a different direction, which often can be a better idea. Either way there's always something that can be done. So then I just try and relax into it.
Ha! That will be fine until the next flower page which will also have a stitch using the pin... but not the same stitch... I really enjoy doing those stitches which are a bit out of the ordinary. :)
@@marionsworld24 I use the stitch library on Sarah Homfrey's embroidery page to remind me of stitches I've not used in a while. My most recently used one was the turkey rug stitch, lots of textured fluff.
Really nice stitching 🧵 Marion, years of practice I would think.using old fabric makes it more special, it has a history💗thanks for another lesson🌟take care🐈
This is so pretty and the stitches are ones I've never heard of...I like how you teach me how to do them and the colors to use that just go together so well...thanks for sharing your talents with me ❤
Your Forget-Me-Nots are beautiful Marion and can't wait to go and get my blue/pink thread and make the page. It's so delicate and never seen petals done that way. Thank you once again.
I'm trying to show the different stitches that I used in my original book, without having to go and do those pages again.. Always lovely to make something new.
I also love forget me not s. They are one of the really pretty and early signs of spring. I always leave them to spread as they want - and they can prevent other weeds from taking over😉. Love the stitches and your way to teach them. Beautiful page❤
Oh what a lovely flower, love those flowers. Your stitching is beautiful, thank you for the demonstration on your lovely book. lots of stitches I have not done yet, thank you for always showing us new stitches. I love the background fabric too, the leaves look great using the two styles. I love the petal stitch on these flowers. Thank you for the inspiration you always give us.
You're more than welcome Michelle. It's what I would be doing anyway. Although I do have lots of things to get finished at the moment. I'm having a finishing off week !
Absolutely beautiful! I don't know very many embroidery stitches, so thank you for teaching us 'petal stitch' - now I won't have to rely so heavily on lazy daisy, lol😂🌼🌸💮
Wonderful stitching yet again Marion! The only thing I don't like about Forget-me-nots in the garden is when the seed heads get stuck to your clothes!! Best wishes and happy stitching as always.
I love your little puffy stitches and they are even more lovely with that variegated thread….so effective. Forget me knots and snow in summer are a particular favourite of mine too evoking happy memories of summers past. ❤️
Reviewing this video to see why my petals aren't puffy... I now see I anchored them too far out... I'll snip out the stitches & have another go at it. ❤🎉 Your stitching is marvelous!
Yes... they'll just look like a straight line if you anchor them at their full length. Give them some slack and then run your needle underneath the finished stitch to help the threads lie nicely. Good luck with it 🧵🪡
Very pretty, very delicate. I didn’t know that stitch, but you taught it very well. Online I saw double daisy stitch (yours is triple) and someone here in the comments thinks it’s a “stacked lazy daisy.” I also saw a “petal stitch” done exactly as your puffy petals. I will try it soon! My brain is focusing better today. Maybe it’s that Bruce Lee water trick.
It's definitely petal stitch Mara. Lazy daisy and their variations don't have the knot at the top of the petal before they are sewn down. Also you could go as many times around the pin as you wanted to. It's a good one to try out! I hope the brain fog drifts away ... it's not good for the concentration..
I've been camping in the woods for the past week. I brought along my embroidery but did not stitch one stitch. So nice to get back home and see what you have been doing. I'm back to working on my "Summer" book. My worktable is covered with embroidery books, threads and fabric. What a mess but so satisfying.
I've always got a mess whilst I'm in the process of a project. But then I tidy it all away to start afresh on the next thing. I hope you had a lovely camping trip... It's a long time since I went on one of those! A Summer themed book sounds lovely too...
Thanks Fay. Your comment has made me happy. When I started my channel I wasn't sure I was doing things right. I didn't used to go on RUclips myself, or on social media at all.....
You are such a wonderful instructor, Marion. I tried so hard to see what you were saying. My vision is just too poor to see where the needle goes through the surrounding thread. The result is lovely though. I hope someday you'll recall the name of the puff stitch. Perhaps I'll be able to learn it from a different perspective on a different venue. I love your little book. It's really really lovely. Thank you.
It's called petal stitch and I've just used it again in the Stitch Journal. Only this time in a much larger size with a thicker thread. Maybe that video will be better for you to see it... It's Week 23 in the Stitch Journal playlist....👍
I love watching you stitch! On one of your videos you were outside in your garden stitching. That looked so relaxing! I would love to see more of your garden. What kind of needle do you use? It looks larger than the common needle I use, but yours glides so easily into the fabric. Thanks for your wonderful videos!
It's got a bit cold here to sit outside stitching away. But that is how I like to work when I can. As for my needle I'm not that precise when it comes to needles for every different type of work. I was actually using a shortish embroidery needle with a good point and a largish eye. The main thing is to have an appropriate eye for the thickness of the thread. The eye is what is going to make the hole big enough for the thread to slide through. Other than that, I just pick up whichever one I feel will work!
I agree with you about the Forget-Me-Nots. I think they are so pretty and I have grown them in a shady area, but the gophers like then too. I will keep trying. Did you use Inktense for the background of this piece? Thank you
So beautiful. Thank you so much for your wonderful classes. Enjoy being with you ❤️

Forget me not foreground with a mountain background sounds fantastic! You'll have to let me see when you have been stitching it!
Love the petal stitch, another beautiful page ❤ like you alway leave for-get me nots to grow in our garden.
How could I not? They're beautiful..
Lovely work Marion and the variegated thread adds to the beauty of the forget-me-nots.
Definitely . It did half the work for me!
❤ TFS, New stich for me, I really appreciate you.
So kind Kellie. Thank you.
I always look forward to your videos, and this one is lovely just like all the others. I am going to put some on a small page. 😊
Perfect Connie...
Another lovely page, I’m loving learning lots of new embroidery stitches. Can’t wait for Wednesdays video. 🌸🌼
I'm on a finishing things off week. So a couple of shorter, different videos will be getting posted... Hope you'll like them.
Thanks Marion, love your channel, learning so much, its all so interesting, looking forward to your next video xxx

@@marionsworld24 i don’t think they’re native here in Australia so I’m supposing we would look after them more.
Marvellous piece,Marion! Thanks for sharing this new stitch which is so effective! ❤
Beautiful forget me nots also remind me of my childhood x ❤
Like it? I love it!! And it’s nice to hear about your great grandmother’s home. 😊
I must admit I have a very romantic remembrance of her and the house.
Good choice. Beautiful stitching and very effective Marion.
Thank you Jean.
Beautiful Marion. You are so brave to do the writing straight onto the page that you have finished

Love your work!!! My granddaughter calls Forget Me Nots “Forget Ne Snots”!!! It’s adorable how little ones say certain things isn’t it?
That's a good one!
For me, the raised stitch you used for the petals, will now be known as the 'around the pin' stitch. So pretty.
Ha! That will be fine until the next flower page which will also have a stitch using the pin... but not the same stitch...

Another beautiful page finished !
Loved the Forget me Not page🎉i do love the plants as well. Thanks for the beautiful flower book. Enjoying it tremendously ❤❤
So pretty! Like the post stitch. Forget-me-nots don't grow where I live. If I had them popping up in my garden, I wouldn't pull them either.
This is beautiful thanks for sharing x

Love watching your creativity! I’ve been wanting to something similar in book and on an old wood bobbin!
I've seen people do long embroideries and wind them onto a bobbin. Is that what you're thinking of Jodi?
The forget me not page came out beautiful. I will have to try the puff stitch as I’ve never seen it before. Thanks for the video.😊

Yes, it was one of the original pieces of fabric I did during the Inktense tutorial a while ago.
Such an amazing, creative woman you are! Can I ask what brand you pen is & is it a fabric pen?
Thank you for watching. It's a Staedtler pigment liner with a 0.5 mm nib. It writes really beautifully on fabric....
Beautiful- stacked lazy daisy?
It is actually called petal stitch. Thanks to all of those who commented
