For everyone who has commented on my blouse.... I made it from a vintage embroidered tablecloth! I just cut a hole for my head. Sewed it till it fit me, then made a nice neckline. I'm pleased you all think it's pretty! Thank you ☺️
Oh Marion, you have totally drawn me into your "World". Just love all that you do and the way to explain things is second to none. Thank you for your generous sharing of these little books.😊
You mentioned adding music to cover over your quiet moments. Please reconsider. Your draw could be the peacefulness in each and every vlog. I'm thrilled with the no music aspect of work, and what lovely work you do. 😊 I found you an inspiration and am always glad when you put out new content. Belated happy birthday to you. 🎉
Your demonstrations are so helpful and interesting. I love the little bow you made on the running stitch page - that is a great idea! Also like your blouse. Thanks for another helpful video.
@@maramakesjournals2319 They seem to be enjoying it. They moved from Colorado and bought 65 acres. Their house has heat pump and heated floors so it is cozy. I still have to drive 550 miles to see her but it's better than 1000 to Colorado.
@@poodlegirl55 That can be a lovely drive. Our daughter studied at UW Eau Claire. Yes, it has to beat driving to Colorado. Lately, I take an Amtrak train to visit my daughter in Cudahy. I don’t drive anymore. I can’t concentrate. I see a bird or some other pretty thing and I forget I’m driving a car. My husband takes me where we need to go. 🚗
Joining in on the cheers for your embroidered top--so lovely! And, that little tiny bow on the first page of the book couldn't be cuter!!! Another great tutorial for sure!
It’s a refreshing change to follow a fellow left handed stitcher, makes it so easy to understand what you are doing. This was an excellent explanation of how to do the pages! I’d been wondering if the bonding would make it difficult to stitch as I do have some hand arthritis. My late Mom did as well, but she never stopped stitching and managed to do beautiful handwork well into her 90s. I aim to do the same!
Hi, Marion! I didn’t see the first five minutes of the book because I was staring at your blouse. That’s something you might put on your video to-do list. I wondered how you got it to drape so nice in the front. I enjoyed watching you begin the innards of your book. I really like the different edge stitches. There are so many beautiful things in the world, it’s hard for me to pick just one. Decades ago I bought Fiestaware place settings and could not pick one color, so I bought settings in nine different colors. That’s what it’s like in Mara’s world. I’m feeling more energetic after a medication change in the morning. I got a lot of things done today. You have inspired me. On the back end of life, every day becomes more precious, so it’s a great time for me to have met you. You are my wise woman. 💜
@@marionsworld24 Ha! There are only four of us on festive occasions. The place settings look great in our white China cabinet. When we move back to Milwaukee, I’ll have the two over for dinner regularly. It makes me happy to think about that. Big smile!
You are a very talented person....I appreciate all of your work immensely....thank you for sharing....your gifts. You are a such a wonderful blessing ♥️♥️♥️ thank you!!!🌻
I was admiring your blouse too. Had a laugh when you described how it came to be! Enjoyed watching and learning, but I don’t think I will be stitching along with you at this time. I have a number of projects underway which need to be completed. But never say never.😊🐱❤️
It was difficult when I first decided I would start and cut up old linens.... All that work ... by someone maybe like me... getting cut up! But now I just think I'm enjoying their work. I appreciate it and think of them when I'm using something to stitch with. In my mind, that's surely better than languishing in a drawer , never seeing the light of day, unless getting cleared out to a thrift shop!
The book is looking pretty and durable. I’m following you and I’m doing herbs and flowers growing in my garden this season. Thanks for the clear instructions. 🌷tess
Yes, love your blouse! This book is so wonderful, and has motivated me to try my hand at fabric painting one for a friend of mine, to lift her spirits. Thank you for teaching us so patiently. You are a gift!
This is fascinating. I do a lot of "intuitive" freeform embroidery and bead embroidery. As soon as I finish my quilt as you go baby blanket, I want to start a book. Thank you for the wealth of information.
I'd like to see what you've been doing Rachel. I've just about finished a qayg table runner. In fact, a tutorial might be coming this week sometime as I was asked about it a while ago.
Marion, your creativity is so inspiring. I have a few other projects to wrap up, but then I will be starting my own book. Your instructions are so clear, and I adore your color sense. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge, skill, and talents.
Yes..I've made a couple of items in Alabama Chanin style. I have a couple of the books here. Also I have another project cut out and almost ready to sew. It might just come up on my videos as the weather turns cooler.
Evening Jacque. How is it in Arizona? It's been quite wet here these last few days. And a bit colder too. I was even thinking of having to put my fire on! But I'll probably just layer up with a jumper instead... The tablecloth top needs its' own page....
@@marionsworld24 it’s dry and hot even for us. My daughter is in Chicago and she just told me with the heat index it’s going to be 120. Very unusual. Rain and bundling up sounds wonderful
It's actually a piece of sound muffling board. My husband had used it to muffle the noise of a machine. It looks like grey felt but I think it's recycled milk cartons. Anyway I tentatively tried the iron to see if it would stand up to the heat....and it did! So I just cut the pieces up and covered them with fabric 😊
In an earlier video in this series I show how to bond the fabric with a backing paper called Bondaweb. It's known by different names depending on which country you live in. It's like a web of paper backed glue that you iron on to the back of your fabric . Once you're ready to complete your project the backing paper peels off and the fabric can then be ironed onto another piece as the glue melts the two pieces together with the heat of the iron. It's a technique often used to stick down fabric for appliqué.

Curious...did you embroider the top you're wearing? Really pretty 😊
The pages you bond together before embroidering do you leave that page plain
No... I just decorated them with different methods so I could show slightly different ways of doing things. Each page ends up with a flower design.
How did you make your felt ironing board?
It's actually a piece of sound muffling board. My husband had used it to muffle the noise of a machine. It looks like grey felt but I think it's recycled milk cartons. Anyway I tentatively tried the iron to see if it would stand up to the heat....and it did! So I just cut the pieces up and covered them with fabric 😊

Do you have a book to purchase
I'm afraid not. I just like to show how you can make them for yourself...
