Great Hack about hostels. I always look in their free section and try and use the free food. Sometimes you just need to buy some veggies for a stir fry or a pasta sauce. You can save a lot of money. If you go to the kitchen an hour before people are leaving you often get given stuff.
The best hostel for free food was in Reykjavik, Iceland. I made a friend there that was eating mostly from the free section there was so much stuff, even alcohol! Also an area for " give and take. "

@@airlight7173 whilst I’m not a fan of this freeloader, image and perception are everything. If you look and act like you belong somewhere then the majority of people will believe you do. He walks in (fairly) well dressed, clean (ish) and has confidence so most people won’t question him

I've never been in a hostel in NY but in Europe some people who are staying in one Hostel may go to another Hostel for entertainment, drinks etc. No one looks at you twice.
I think Toba gets away in NY because he's dressed decently and have an expensive camera in his hand. Just a guess😅

I guess I really don’t understand the point of this “challenge”. There’s free food all over NYC. Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen gives great meals to anyone and everyone who wants food on weekdays and on Sunday they have meals after services. As an example but there are many different food programs all over the city. I guess it’s part of the challenge to take free food from a corporation but not a church? I think he’s right…why should he even think of coming to NYC when he’s from London. Time to go home.

Why did you quit being a vegan. Being a vegan in my opinion is a bunch of nonsense. God created animals to serve and feed man. If god thought that eating meat was inhumane or immoral he wouldn't have created the animals to be eaten. Just food for thought.

When I was traveling and first got to the city that's now my homebase, I stayed in a lovely hostel by the beach/pacific ocean where I could stay for free if I volunteered a few hours a day. I picked the communal kitchen cleaning duty... the food variety left behind was incredible, the volunteers usually ended up getting together to cook a big communal buffet and shared it with staff. I saved so much money there in my first year, I could pay for more than a year's rent and furnish the place I found when I decided I wanted to stay and relocate to that province. What an amazing year of friendships that was, too! 🤔🥰🏔️
