The family lost their mom and to them they don't qualify their own traditional concept of family anymore. Their household is in disrepair and the children are starving (they kept eating the trio's food at the beginning). Their father is the small one playing his game in his own world, like showing the father as immature and incapable of taking care of his family alone. The older brother looks pissed at their situation and the grandma is either dying or mourning the loss of the mom (with how she kept crying when someone she doesn't approve of touched the mother's game piece).

@@TheBroSisEffect ohh it's nothing. It's just how I interpret the family's situation. They're just in hints in the background but it paints a sad story. A home unable to cope with a loss of a pillar. I think it gives context to their actions rather than just them being creepy monsters.
