- A million years ago, Cher gave a lovely tribute to Kate for TCM. Then it completely fell off the face of the earth---until now.
Footage belongs to Turner. Voiceover belongs to Cher. But those Professional Filming Techniques™ belong to yours truly. Развлечения
I feel you Cher. It's sad that she was considered to be one of the greatest actors of all time yet losers born in my generation have no idea who she is.
Thank you, Cher...
BOTH you & Ms. Hepburn...are PURE class! ❤❤. 👍👍. 💐💐!!!!!
Love you Cher, You are my Idol...and so was Katherine Hepburn. Until now....I did not know she was yours also!! Thank You for such heart felt words!

Desk Set is my fave
i liked her. she stayed private did her job and won awards.
One of my favorite singers/actors has such astute commentary on my favorite actress.
What a beautiful homage!!! Really beautiful!!! ;-))))
And now cher received spirit of Katharine Hepburn award. I am happy for cher because she is my pop goddess , and she is a living icon
Katie was & will always be My Favorite Actress ! Thank You for Posting, it was awesome !
“The Philadelphia Story.” What a great film. It was Kate’s come back role and film. She did it on Broadway first. She owned the rights to the movie so she came back to Hollywood on her own terms. Oh...and I’ve been in love with Cher for nearly fifty years.
Two of the greatest Tauruses…Cher and Katharine Hepburn!
Everything Cher said about Katherine is how I feel about Cher ❤ Shes my idol
TCM still plays this ALL THE TIME.
It never went away at all, but I think you did (?)!!
A most impressive tribute; thank you!
Thank you for posting this. I swear I never stopped smiling. Everything she said was so true.
Two great icons of entertainment: Katharine Hepburn & Cher.
This is amazing. Thank you Cher and Katherine Hepburn. 👍💟 I'm a Taurus woman I can relate. Both are you are inspirational I hope one day I can become a famous actresses that's what Taurus are best at. 😄😄 namaste
This is great, I never saw it before....
I didn't know Kate ice-skated so well...nice.
Oh man I know what you mean. When ever I'm having a shitty day I just want to plug in my ipod and listen to her voice !!
LOVE IT
she was such a beauty
My favorite movie...LONG DAYS JOURNEY INTO NIGHT
"mesmerized by her energy". a common thread said by many people who met her. She and her maid and butler nearly knocked me over as they loaded their car in east midtown/NYC back when I was in my mid-20s. they loaded up at least 200 lbs. of boxes, incl. a bicycle in under 90 seconds. and this was at last 5-6 years after ON GOLDEN POND.
A heartwarming and sincere tribute by Cher. Please ignore anyone who says otherwise.
Taurus women are so independent and we are like males and gorgeous.😇😇 very sensitive to earth. She's my idol. Her strength and overcoming trajedies. Love yourself and have inner belief and accept yourself.
The Lion In Winter 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
It was not dementia nor Alzheimers. She did die of old age. She had a condition that made her head shake that's all. But overall she left this earth with quite dignity after allot of well made noise at 96 because it was her time
But you know what you epitomize her quote “I don't care what is written about me as long as it isn't true.”
To ponder with you now, respect the great Kate.
Lion in winter is excellent
Geez!! Now I'm like I Have to find this !!! I'd say as far as her acting goes I loved her screw balls (of course) but for drama she KILLED in Lion in Winter (Oscar totally deserved) and The Glass Menagerie. I don't know why but she did drama better as she got older.

Both Kate Hepburn and Orson Welles were contracted by RKO early on.
And both were effectively screwed over by that studio.
Lucy too and she ended up buying it.
You know to be perfectly honest. I Have never seen Vanessa Redgrave in anything. Really. I don't know a thing about her! But I really don't understand how Cary was overlooked for so long!! I mean he's remembered better than anybody !! I've only seen Peter O'Toole in 2 movies (How to Steal a Million with Audrey) and (Lion in Winter) but I thought he was phenomenal in both.
The Academy Should really have a different system for honoring..
The reason her head shook was due to Essential Tremor also called Palsy. She was then hospitalized in 1996 and became very weak and totally inactive. By 1997 she was not speaking and couldn't eat, they thought she would die very soon. Some people say they saw the beginning signs of dementia however she was never diagnoses nor tested because the signs were very general. In May 2003 they found a tumor in her neck which was growing very quickly she refused to be operated upon.
What year was this TCM tribute aired?
What does she say at 00:52 ? Only a tiny hint of greffles?
Only a tiny hint of gruffness.
She died on June 29th 2003 surrounded by loving people.
Now YOU read her autobiography. If you want to know about a woman whose character you could never dream of matching, and whose life outweighed your pathetic-ness. Would you rather spew false information that you don't know anything about? Things written by a non-authorized biographer. Read the one by A. Scott Berg. She allowed him into her home.
