What the Precure series would be if all the main characters were super unlikable... and in their 20s. Only reason I say that since the series did start off with two main characters being magical girls before it turned into a group of 3, 4, 5 or 6 girls.
Not gonna lie, when I clicked on this I expected complaining about “da SJWs” like everyone else does when it comes to this show, so it was a nice surprise that the video was full of actually good criticism. I agree, the unlikeable characters and bad pop culture and internet jokes completely ruin an interesting premise (adults who have to juggle real world and magical girl problems).
Apparently Syfy had an anime block which actually was the first place to air the English dub of Gurren Lagann. You know, at least it isn’t trying to ape Family Guy and South Park, but then again we already have shows like Primal, Castlevania, Bojack Horseman, Moral Orel, Boondocks, Black Dynamite, Tuca and Bertie, Camp Camp, Red vs Blue, Seis Manos, Harley Quinn, Mike Tyson Mysteries, and Major Lazer. Also I’d be down for an action show that looks like Family Guy or Brickleberry but does over the top action to compensate with the character design.
Yeah Syfy used to air anime Monday nights around 11pm-1am on a block called Animonday. It also aired Gundam 00, Rave Master, Monster, and occasionally movies. It was the only reason to watch syfy when they weren't showing repeats of shows or low budget monster flicks in lates 2000s.
Oi question sense you listed it. I heard everyone saying tuca and Bertie was pretty good so I decided to give it a watch and honestly I don’t get it it’s not bad but eh. What do you like about it.
One thing that should have been mentioned is that Megas XLR is clearly made by persons who love and understand mecha anime, and Japanese anime in general. Hell, they had Steve Blum and Wendee Lee voice allies when the two usually voice opponents. Also, I was honestly expecting an image of Netflix She-Ra to show up, not The Last Jedi.

Okay, I'll admit that 'Rise of the TMNT' clip was friggin' awesome. Was initially put off by how drastically they changed the titular characters and April (who should *always* be a redhead).
I find Kung Fu Hustle more entertaining then magical girl friendship Squad. Before anybody criticizes my comment, yes I know Kung Fu Hustle is not an animated movie "but" that doesn't mean it couldn't be one.
I could probably writer a better magical girl story than them, I even have some ideas but it’s not enough to make a pilot chapter as I lack many crucial points such as themes and some of the characters and the plot is vague at best but if I was given 5 years I could probably make something better than this!
@Atelier God I tend to use a sort of magical girl format for the stories I tell my younger sister. The characters are all loosely based on people I know in real life (plus some of our favourite games and shows, Miraculous Ladybug and the Persona series being two of the greatest influences). Would you like to hear more about them?

My first impression of the show's central characters was they had terrible dialogue and came across as very unlikeable. It had the feeling of a bad webcomic where the author is up their own ass about how clever their cynical one-liners are, while forgetting to make the characters charming or interesting.
The villain looks like he stepped out of Milk Chan forever. What a shame the character has to be in this show.

Every so often I wonder if the quality of cartoons has actually gone down or if it’s like the 90’s kids, but then I see garbage like this and realize TV is dead.
If you really think that, then I tecommend kipo, I dunno about adult cartoons tho...
@@spacekitty8926 There’s obviously still decent shows, just the overall quality has diminished. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be an example of a good modern show.
