    I have this unit. Very happy with it.
    Yes, it does ramp up very slowly at first, but once it's going it's incredibly powerful. The inverter compressor is also surprisingly quiet, you can barely tell when it comes on.

    Thanks, i'm about to install one I just bought new, sealed in box, off facebook marketplace for $275 in a rental unit. The unit is heated via a nat gas space heater so not furnace to add a coil to. Mine is the 18k BTU one so just a tad larger.

    If you live in a humid state, be sure to unplug the rubber condensate hole. Don’t listen to LG, about it being normal having water in the pan. It’s not normal and it will rust your coils out!! No water should stay lingering around your coils.

    Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    I am hating the whole shell concept. Why did they do that? It doesn't make it all that easier for winter removal or installation. Mine was just as hard to pull out (18k btu)... I dumped it upside down to make it slide out, The foam included sucks... AND I must say thank you to you for the the wood block thing... that's important. What kind of window are they using for their design tests anyway? Those outside legs are terrible AND I was supplied with a different cross-style sliding kind that really looks useless. Once this thing goes in...it is staying in.

      Hi there. Just saw your message because I just installed one for my neighbor and the fan was making all kinds of crazy noises. I thought it was going to explode. I took it apart again to see if something was loose, but I didn’t see anything.
      I reinstalled it on the window and the noise was just as bad.
      The neighbor said it doesn’t sound normal, and I agreed. So they are retuning it and buying another model.
      So make sure that yours it not defective. Because ours was.

    • @regenerativehomesteadwiths2869

      I don't think it would fit. The issue is the side skirts will not compress more than that.

      Take off one of the side skirts and put that side flush with the window frame and sandwich in a piece of foam insulation.

    Let me ask you something and I hope you reply. Are u having thermostat issues? I bought this unit a few days ago for my back room, I have a main hvac system. I put it on energy saver and the unit, even though it blows cold, never shuts off unless I push the temp up. Basically it never gets below the desired temp to manually shut it off. Last night I set it to 74. My hvac system was set at 70. Woke up this morning my house said 70 degrees. The window unit was still running, i checked my app and it showed the house temp was 74. What ever I set this thing to it will get down to the desired temp but never enough below that temp to turn it off. I guess I'll call LG tonight. Was just wondering if u noticed the same thing? Weird thing is this is a 14k btu. I had an old 12kbtu that would cycle on off all day on energy savor. This LG is a bigger unit and will not cycle.

      @regenerativehomesteadwiths2869  2 года назад +1

      I keep mine on energy saver too. Mine runs continuously during the day, but it has been extremely hot and I'm cooling a large area. What I do notice is that I can hear the compressor speed go up and down frequently. I think the difference is that the old unit compressors were on or off, whereas with this inverter technology the compressor operates within an infinite range based on the temp. I would like to hear what LG says about it if you talk them.

      @@regenerativehomesteadwiths2869 what u said about the inverter, I never thought about looking into that. And I am with you about the heat. I live in Houma Louisiana. I'm still gonna call tonight after I can confirm the temp of the room it's in. This is the 3rd window unit I have put in that room in about 15 yrs. First came with the house when I bought it. 2nd one just went out. I guess I am just use to them cycling on and off. But I did notice what you are saying about it speeding up and down. Maybe it is a different type of technology. Like I said the ac us blowing ice cold air. It just won't get below the temp to make it cycle off. No matter what my hvac is set to. But I know the cycle is working because when the room temp on my app says let's say 75. If I set the temp to 77 it turns off. Then back on when the temp hits 77. We shall see

      @@regenerativehomesteadwiths2869 ok I just did a lot more research and according to what I read about the inverter technology they are made to run all the time. It blows at max untill it reaches the desired temp then it slows down. They are not meant to constantly cycle on and off. I wonder how that will look on my light bill with the unit always running. I still find it odd though that the temp sensor on the unit is reading hotter than my hvac system.
