Scout's Homestead
США
Добавлен 15 май 2020
We began with raw, rocky, infertile land, and are gradually building rich soil using regenerative practices. Our goal is to create a sustainable homestead, and produce all of our food without the use of pesticides or chemical additives. It is rewarding to use the resources the land provides in new and creative ways.

I need hypoallergenic soaps due to my skin sensitivities, I'd have to be sure I'm not mixing in anything with skin irritants in it if I where to do this.
This grosses me out, not gonna lie. I'm literally looking at soap scum.
Very true!😳
You do t have to go to all that trouble! All you have to do is soak the new bar and the old scrap of a bar till a little soft. Mold them together, and let dry
only thing i could suggest is grabbing a bar of Glycerin Soap and use a box grater to shave it down. glycerin soap is amazing at gelling the soap back up once it's cool. happy journeys bro.
oops, one more thing... silicone molds are your friend... just don't forget which ones are for soap and which are for food lol...
Well. I suppose it works if no one but you has been and will be using it. I remember seeing a report that hotels were being encouraged to recycle soaps in this manner; and my sanitation gene got triggered.
You just made a descent size bar of soap. why cut it up into small bars?
@maryp8725 it was hard to see in the video, but the bar was equal to 2 or 3 bars.
Double boiler would help you melt it
@@teamevosurfcasters it sure would!
Cool!! Where i live, just south of Boston, MA we have a type of cedar that looks very similar with that beautiful color inside.
@joe9743 This is eastern red cedar so it's probably the same tree. I build some tables and benches with it.
Good christ.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
I started using a little propane torch to start my kindling. Seriously takes about 60 seconds. Once the kindling is going good throw a skinny log or 2 shut the door and your good. Just checking out your vid cause I think it’s time to upgrade to something more efficient with a longer burn time. The true north aren’t the cheapest but I don’t mind paying a bit more for quality
New favorite person, thank you so much dude! 🎉
Thanks!
The dots seem blurry in my scope is it just my eyes or the scope
@@shanedelbert1956 Mine were not blurry.
You are a Boss hope the COVID didn't keep ya down too long 😎
Thanks, I recovered pretty quickly. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much for this! You're a life saver! Mine just did this today on Christmas Eve, too late to get another and the coffee shops aren't open for my Christmas morning commute lol
@missshmollie7166 Glad it worked! Merry Christmas!
@@ScoutHomestead2869 Merry Christmas!
You're a God, sir.
Wow, must smell good!
Too much of a good thing breathing that dust. Should wear a mask.
I'm looking for a quiver. I bought my crossbow and it didn't have one. The barnett website is out of stock, any ideas?
You might pick one up on ebay.
@ScoutHomestead2869 my wife was wanting to get me one more thing for Christmas lol
It worked for us, thank you!!!
You are welcome, glad it worked!
Had to give it a good bop on the head but it started working. 😂 Thank you for saving the day. :)
Glad it helped!
I just did the same😂
THANK YOU!
You are very welcome!
So sorry to hear about Scout 😢 Sadie is a beauty!
Thanks Emily. Sadie has some big shoes to fill, but I think she will be great dog.
Cute pup. My 17-yr old BC is on her way out. Ill sure miss her. Is Sadie's tail dockeed?
I'm sorry to hear that, it is hard. Her tail is docked, they do that with these cattle dogs to prevent injury I they say.
Nice I have a a Pacific Energy I believe it's a Vista !
Looks great! And toasty 🔥🔥
Yes! Hope you are staying warm. I hear winter is reaching you now,
Thanks sirrr
You are very welcome!
you're the best, coffeeeeeeee!
Glad it worked!
Just saved me $100 bucks! Thanks man!
Glad it worked!
another day saved!! Thank you
Glad it worked!
Great unit - have had for several years now. Have to take it out of case today and out to back deck for deep cleaning - it is corrupted with mildew and mold beyond being able to use. The way these are designed is unfortunate... if they'd install and run a heating cycle every so often to get rid of condensation (which running in 'dry' mode will NOT do, it only removes humidity from the air, not your unit itself.) they'd solve a problem.. but they'd sell less units as well since most people just get a new one every few years anyway. I've found cleaning them once in their lifetime can double the life of the unit.
I think you are right about the planned obsolescence.
I went through everything recommended here and still am seeing a leak from the same spot. Any thoughts on what I may have missed?
Great video. Thanks for posting. This unit doesn't have drain?
Thanks. There is a rubber plug on the bottom. However, the idea is that the unit slings the water on the condenser to make it more efficient.
@@ScoutHomestead2869 Nice. I am keeping mine "plugged" and using the water sling method. :-)
Awesome! It worked! Thanks so much!
Great!
Thank you! Needed this! It worked. ❤
Glad it helped!
Thanks- didn’t have to buy a new one!
Great!
2 much banter but you fixed my keurig so here's your like, I used a floss pick.
Glad it helped.
Thanks man! Just replaced my cord - your video was massively helpful, sending good vibes your way :)
Glad it helped!
I'm debating on getting one of these, an 8000 BTU. I was so happy to hear you say that you, like me, have no use for the "smart features"! When I buy one, is all that stuff turned off by default and I can just use the remote - as i've done forever? Thanks. I'm an old country boy as well :) And you are all but certain that these dual converter types cool as well or better than the traditional ones we grew up with? Oh and since the vents are not covering the front filter (that solid panel is different) ....i'm guessing the vents that pull out the room air are at the bottom - does your filter get dirty evenly? Thanks again!
Yes, the filter is evenly dirty. I don't think the new ones are any cooler than the old ones, just more efficient and quieter. The old units, even central units from the 90's and back would run forever. They don't build stuff like that any more. Engineered obsolescence, even with automobiles.
@@ScoutHomestead2869 I know that's right - autos and pretty much designed to keep us in buy it now mode. I think there's a real competition among manufacturers to get that failure date timed with the warranty expiry :) If we truly wanted to 'make America great again' - let's start there! Hey thanks for the video; good job that. You come across very well.
Thx for this video!
You're welcome!
I have this in 12,000BTU. I've had it about a month so i cant speak on its longevity yet. However, ifs the best AC ive ever owned.
it worked! thanks! I didnt notice any clog when I pushed my pick in, but then I just closed the lid after and pressed the power button and then I heard it heating up finally and working!
Glad it helped
If anyone else is curious, a bobby-pin also worked for this 😂
Good tip. That would probably be the best tool to use.
Thanks for the video. Although watching you lift it by yourself made my back ache.
You're welcome and my back still hurts🤣
Excellent, complete discussion of the LG Dual Inverter AC. I just bought one - Thanks
Thanks. I hope it serves you well.
thanks for the video, Keith
You are welcome!
SO helpful. Thank you so much for this!
You are welcome. Glad it helped!

LG should hire you to create their next AC install video! Your video was amazing and I’m even more impressed that you were able to do the entire install by yourself!
Thank you!
Wow, this product is really working for Scout! Do you also give her any supplements or medications?
Have you ever heard of Adoquin canine injections for arthritis? It worked for my dog for the last few years of her life.
thank you for this, my baby girl is getting to be the age where this kind of info is important. QOL is important in our furry companions.
