RIP Mr Burt Bacharach. You created some of the loveliest music ever made. For those of us who were young in the 1960s and seventies, a very sad day indeed.
Sad but true. I hate the idea of losing all these quality songwriters. So much genius in our generation with the beauty it created. A hard reality to accept these losses to our world.

These songs are amongst the most beautiful works of art ever made. Made my life happier and made me a better person. It’s very difficult to explain all the joy these songs have brought me. Thanks Burt.
As a teenager in the 1970s, I dismissed music like this as too old fashion, now we are in 2020, after being in a band, opening my mind to various genres of music, I am now listening to this music that just shines with such class...Oh how I was wrong...Thats me being a teenager....

My father was a Vietnam vet too. I was a young boy in 1966 when we brought my father to the airport on a flight to Saigon with his fellow Special Forces mates. I just saw Burt Bacharach give a concert in Beverly Hills just two months ago, accompanying various soloists at the piano. He's 92 or so and going strong.
Chris Jay Tabarejo I saw him in Cardiff in 2002 ish. I’ve always said it the best concert I’ve ever seen. I was born incidentally in ‘68 the time of this show. He was class.
Watch the young ladies staring at Andy during the song. Back then it was about quality and talent. You can see it in their faces. Today it’s about pure stupidity and wanting to worship the moronic low brow lifestyle that benefits no one but the performer. People like Andy Williams will be remembered long after 99% of today’s so called talent is long gone.
Got to work with Mr Williams,a class act.Watch the microphone position. It stays in pretty much the same spot no matter if he’s singing low and soft or high and loud.Total control over his voice where most singers today don’t have that control and must move the mic around to compensate.RIP Mr.Williams.
Two of the best musicians of all time and I never get tired of listening to both of them Burt Bacharach and Andy Williams. Mr. Bacharach is very passionate about all his compositions, it shows with his overall personality and yet very humble to share to all his listeners like me. I simply love their music and singing style!
When I listened to the music that Burt Bacharach created and hear Andy Williams sing it, it brings back memories. I was born in 1955 and I always loved listening to the music by Burt Bacharach! I also remember Angie Dickinson and I thought she was a great actress. You can't find music like this anymore!!!!! Thank you so much for creating it Burt Bacharach!!!!!!
I hail from 1956 - every time one of our great artists leaves us, I feel like a bit of myself has been lost. There was so much raw talent back then- sadly, not much today 😢
Look and listen to this…two musical geniuses with movie star looks! Don’t you miss those days? Will we ever have these again? RIP to Burt and Andy and thank you for the music ❤️
Absolute class. Phenominal talent in the composer and the singer. Two of the greatest. What a performance, that couldn't be matched these days. The vocal range of Andy was outstanding and he had one of the smoothest clearest voices we shall ever hear.
When younger generations talk about music of the sixties inevitably they become enamored with the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan and all of the rock and folk acts associated with that era. THIS is the music of that period! The sophisticated songs of composers like Bacharach performed by great singers like Andy Williams! This is music- not social commentary, protest or fads.
gnshapiro I would argue the the Beatles WERE a fad- they didn’t last that long! However, their legacy certainly has! And of course, they were great! They redefined popular music in the sense they were both the songwriters as well as the performers. Yet musically Bacharach was infinitely more sophisticated. Dylan, on the other hand is simply not a musician, he is a poet. His LYRICS may define the protest attitude of the sixties but his music is not remarkable.
@@rockintetster Hi. "Infinitely more sophisticated"? Infinity is a pretty big number, so I'm gonna need some indication of how you're measuring this, apart from your personal tastes. I really enjoy both artists (Beatles and Bacharach) very much; I'm not anti-Bacharach at all, but there's just no basis, in my view, for seeing him in such transcendent terms. They are both forms of pop music--with different styles to be sure--but both extremely creative, original, and beautiful.
@@rockintetster As for Dylan, I'm less familiar with all his work, so I'll stick primarily to defending the Beatles. But there's no question to me that he's a groundbreaking and powerful artist.
Andy and Burt, a couple of treasures we'll never quite ever see or hear again. Both generous and natural talents. Felt very sad for Andy and the Longet part of his life, it was indeed heartbreaking. RIP Andy/Burt and thanks for all the beautiful memories!
My favorite Christmas album ever is an Andy Williams record. I remember his show as well, my parents used to watch when I was growing up. There were so many good variety shows back then. Now it's all "reality" junk that I could care a less about!
these 2 icons will always be remembered for their music and singing❤️❤️❤️Stupidity and shameful for The Kennedy Honors not acknowledging Burt Bacharach all these yrs for his contribution to the art of music . RIP Andy n Burt ! 👏🏻
I couldn’t agree with you more, been saying that for the last 10 years, even wrote the Kennedy center several times encouraging them to honor his genius. I understand their branching out to honor genres never considered prior, but Amy Grant, Gloria Estefan and others still had time to be honored. Not honoring him was their most blatant oversight ever!
Andy Williams has always been a treat to listen to... his wonderful, romantic voice and that little twinkle in his eyes..🧡 Burt Bacharach was a genius...he wrote some of the most amazing songs that all have lives of their own and have brought such joy to so many of us...I can't thank them both enough for the memories..🎼🖤
Two powerhouses of music, now both gone. I'm just learning that the great 1980s hit "Always Something There to Remind Me" was also a Bacharach/David superhit. RIP Mr. Bacharach, and thank you sir for all the wonderful music!!
What a phenomenal instrument this man's voice was. Combine that with the genius of Burt Bacharach and the killer arrangement backup singers and studio musicians .No need for any fools with thier pants falling off and hats on backwards.
no effort on andy willams part for singing...the freakin best voice in history...such class loved all people...black white yellow...didnt matter ...the most classy man in show biz period...lvoe you andy
Very true. And a wonderfull person as is the georegeis dionne. W and burt wow wow wow. Andy is an exact oppossitee of bing crosby. Voice not even close. And an extremmly. Tough on his kids. Farther. Nightfencer gatekeeper. Braintree mass. FREDRICK NOBLE. NIGHTFENCER.
Andy Williams - one of the greatest voices of all time. I still play his Christmas album each year. He hits a note in one of the songs that is incredible. It used to take me months of practice and voice exercise to hit it. For those who have listened to Andy a great deal, you know the note I'm talking about.
wannabe to wasabe. We grew up with Andy Williams in our home. Christmas was exceptional with my dad in particular playing his albums, continually over Christmas. I think we had 3 albums. I had so many favourites. Little Altar Boy, Some Children See Him, Sweet Little Jesus Boy, It’s The Holiday Season, Long Time Ago In Bethlehem, …….. Oh Holy Night. I don’t know what the highest note he hit is but O Holy Night comes to mind as Mr Williams sings the last- Oh Night Divine! The memories l have are too good to put in to words…..❤️
@@wendycrawford1792 You describe the note I'm talking about. He hits it with such great quality and control, with no hint of straining. Because of that I think he has one of the best singing voices of all time. Most singers don't even attempt to hit the note at all.
My Mom adored Burt’s compositions. For Xmas 1971, when I was 16, I gave her “The Best of Burt Bacharach and Hal Davidson” LP. She’s gone now but how I remember her reaction when I presented her with that LP.
(5:16) Look at the expression on the face of the young lady in the front row. First a quick little smile, then the deep admiration for Andy and his singing. Priceless! Andy Williams the best of the best.
Back in those days performers had so much stylish class. Handsome dudes, beautiful women. The days of our country's great music, I think. Even the Beatles wore those great tailor-cut suits.
Music from when America, and the world, were sane. Some of the best songs in the history of modern music were written by Burt Bacharach. Burt’s music was catchy and as classy as it gets. I’d love to go back to the times when he was really in his heyday (60’s/70’s). Some of the best times of my life. Burt was one in a million.
Now THIS is what I'm talking about. A nice bit of silly humour to start with, delivered in that perfect easy-going Andy Williams style. And then we glide into a gorgeous medley of Burt Bacharach songs. Smooth. Effortlessly sophisticated. Utterly delicious. What's not to love about this?
Sitting here wishing times like these could happen again.

It is like a Dream!😍😪
❤
We lost one of the greats today. RIP Burt Bacharach.
God, I miss the 1960s, and I was born in 1971. Such a good time, music, fashion, so many things were better.
Look and listen to this…two musical geniuses with movie star looks! Don’t you miss those days? Will we ever have these again? RIP to Burt and Andy and thank you for the music ❤️
Both Absolutely Wonderful !!! ❤️ Thank God for having them un those beautiful, years, both were amazing 😢😢😢 😅😅😅🎉🎉
Two extremely talented musicians. Missed greatly ❤
I’m so sorry to say those days are gone for good 😢
Andy Williams is an icon. That voice, and those eyes!!
Hello Suzanne, How are you doing?
Absolute class. Phenominal talent in the composer and the singer. Two of the greatest. What a performance, that couldn't be matched these days. The vocal range of Andy was outstanding and he had one of the smoothest clearest voices we shall ever hear.
Phenomenal
I agree, I love the smooth clarity of Andy's voice and he seemed like a good guy too. I enjoyed his films too. 🤍🤍🤍
R.I.P. Burt. 😢
Andy was so natural,so great to watch and what a voice.
That time is unforgettable. The music was unique and beautiful. Burt Bucharat and Andy Williams thank you. I was 20 years old .😢
When younger generations talk about music of the sixties inevitably they become enamored with the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan and all of the rock and folk acts associated with that era. THIS is the music of that period! The sophisticated songs of composers like Bacharach performed by great singers like Andy Williams! This is music- not social commentary, protest or fads.
Bacharach is a genius, no question, but you can't deny the greatness of the Beatles and Dylan--they are not fads! (I'm not a Stones person, though.)
rockintetster
you are so right....
gnshapiro I would argue the the Beatles WERE a fad- they didn’t last that long!
Pure perfection from both parties. Andy’s voice is timeless and he makes it all look so easy. R.I.P.
Mr Bacharach is an incredibly powerful man in terms of talent & humbleness without question-
Andy and Burt, a couple of treasures we'll never quite ever see or hear again. Both generous and natural talents. Felt very sad for Andy and the Longet part of his life, it was indeed heartbreaking. RIP Andy/Burt and thanks for all the beautiful memories!
Stopping in to hear Andy in 2020. Really brings me back. Burt and Andy are remarkable talents.
Hello Nurse55. How are you doing?
This was pop music in my time...and darn proud of it
I Agree
I was born 9 days before this aired - I have always loved Burt!
Andy Williams was under appreciated . He had an amazing voice and feel for a song
Are you kidding? He had a tv show for years.Should I say more!
I definitely strongly disagree with you. Andy Williams was and is never under appreciated in the history of music
He was never underappreciated!! He was huge for a long time , and as others stated , he had a long running TV show...NEVER underappreciated
I was a big fan of his TV show..he, or his writers, had a singularly odd humor.
My favorite Christmas album ever is an Andy Williams record. I remember his show as well, my parents used to watch when I was growing up. There were so many good variety shows back then. Now it's all "reality" junk that I could care a less about!
Thank you.
these 2 icons will always be remembered for their music and singing❤️❤️❤️Stupidity and shameful for The Kennedy Honors not acknowledging Burt Bacharach all these yrs for his contribution to the art of music .
More talent between those two than the entire music industry today.
You are delusional - not "in tune" - or hiding under a blanky.
You need crawl out from under your rock.

oh yeah.

Andy Williams has always been a treat to listen to... his wonderful, romantic voice and that little twinkle in his eyes..🧡
Burt Bacharach was a genius...he wrote some of the most amazing songs that all have lives of their own and have brought such joy to so many of us...I can't thank them both enough for the memories..🎼🖤
Monsters of the music. I am so glad someone post this super performance. Thank you!
Two powerhouses of music, now both gone. I'm just learning that the great 1980s hit "Always Something There to Remind Me" was also a Bacharach/David superhit. RIP Mr. Bacharach, and thank you sir for all the wonderful music!!
I am 52. 60s ,70s , 80s.....the best time & era for movies and songs! Beautiful simple generations! Smiling face on the street is common!!
This is just dripping with talent, music, professionalism, and groove! My God, this is SOOO good!
Ditto
What a phenomenal instrument this man's voice was. Combine that with the genius of Burt Bacharach and the killer arrangement backup singers and studio musicians .No need for any fools with thier pants falling off and hats on backwards.
no effort on andy willams part for singing...the freakin best voice in history...such class loved all people...black white yellow...didnt matter ...the most classy man in show biz period...lvoe you andy

I'ts simply amazing how many hits this icon has written!
Andy Williams - one of the greatest voices of all time.
I still play his Christmas album each year. He hits a note in one of the songs that is incredible. It used to take me months of practice and voice exercise to hit it. For those who have listened to Andy a great deal, you know the note I'm talking about.
So do I every Christmas 🎄
wannabe to wasabe.
I saw this back then, I was 14 years old. still listening Nov, 2019 Andy Williams had an incredible voice,
My Mom adored Burt’s compositions.
Two absolute class acts - Andy Williams had an unforgettable voice and Burt Bacharach's music will live forever.
When music was real. Talent was hard at work. Such perfection. Thank you. Both Andy Williams and Burt Bacharach
How come you never get tired or bored of these songs ? How come they always cheer up, rejoice and make us sing ? You were great Burt.
Dialogue written by Mason Williams and a bit pretentious, but the music is wonderful.
Burt Bacharach was one of the greatest song writers who has ever lived! Any Williams is a tribute to Mr. Bacharach’s songs.
He's still living! Burt l mean. Andy Williams is deceased.
That’s the GREAT AMERICAN SPIRIT I remember when I was little! This is what we need again….class, education, discipline, pride
