- This Steamed Garlic Prawns (Shrimp) 清蒸蒜蓉冬粉虾 recipe is so easy that you really do not need any skills to execute it. On a scale of 1 to 5 and 5 being the most difficult, we rate this 1. Really very easy. Best of all, you can whip this dish out within 15 minutes. One note of caution though - we think you may never order this dish at a restaurant again. :p

Serves 3 - 4 pax

1/2 bulb of chopped garlic - to be used as part of the sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine
80ml (1/3 cup) water
80g glass noodles
420g prawns
1/2 bulb of chopped garlic - to be fried until crispy
A handful of chopped spring onion

I had a Thai lady as a friend once, and she liked to cook for me and teach me along the way. This dish reminds me of her salad Prawn soo hoon. She added lots of raw sliced birds eye chilly, squeezed lime and parsley. Oh! Also fish sauce! Then stir everything together. Blanched glass noodle and prawn( preferably medium size to large prawn). It was hot!!! Which i prefer and nicely sour.
But for kids and those who prefer mild, and less tearing, i would try this recipe😁..Fried garlic or onion fragrance really adds taste to food!.plus soy sauce on hot oil🤗.

Greetings dear friend thank you so much for sharing such a simple recipe and it looks like it's exploding with flavor. Just a quick question could you imagine oven grilling those shrimps with the exact same sauce and recipe? I totally thought you were going to pop them into the broiler over those cooked noodles but steaming is of course a fantastic idea to. Let me know what you think about grilling them in the oven? I hope your family stays healthy at least in this country we are almost through this crisis in Austria
