  • Every new season, “How do you want to be remembered?” is a question that all coaches should ask themselves.
In the video below, Michael Jordan said his college coach, Dean Smith, was a second father to him. Jordan said, “My parents basically turned me over to him [Coach Smith] and he took me through the basics, teaching me how to understand more about people, be respectful, and be appreciative of things that were given to me.
From that day forward, I’ve carried that with me.”
Roy Williams said Coach Smith was better off the court and he did things for people without them even knowing about it.
    SOMETHING(s) TO THINK ABOUT
1 - What is your biggest takeaway from the video?
2 - What do you hope your athletes say about you years after you coach them?
3 - Why would a parent trust you with their athletes?
