In the manga, Annie calls the titans and flees from them while carrying Reiner and Bertoldt. She almost faints from how tired she is but they make it. Annie rests while Reiner and Bertoldt change. While Bertoldt destroys the wall, Reiner has to defend Annie from the titans. Reiner grabs Bertoldt and climbs the wall and leaves to destroy the inner gate. There was a lot going on that I wish they included in the episode: Annie's exhaustion, Reiner defending her, and Reiner leaving Bertoldt and Annie on top of the wall.

@@mr.historyTeller wait. Was it ever explained? I thought pure titans would eat titan shifters too. Like how Ymir ate marcel and Falco ate Galliard
Things missing in this important event:
1. Annie using the female titan to get to the wall alone while bringing all the titans to the wall. For now, it’s like she fainted while the attacked happened. Also makes her look like she wasn’t that important for the mission.
2. Dina looking at Bertoldt directly, stop, and reassume her walking.
3. Not super important, but it was a nice detail to see Reiner climb the wall
When does it show Reiner climbing the wall?

Right choice is to move forward. Well the girl he like get pregnant bit at least he's alive.
My dude didn’t want to be alive tho
On top of the guilt for Marcel’s death, Reiner really went through extreme immense pressure for a 10 year old. This was when they still believed the Eldians were devils too.
Reiner: *Thinks that Marley will kill him and his family if he rolled the operation*
Reiner 5 years later: lost female and colossal Titans
Marley: Ok
0:52 now this made sense! It was Eren who made Grisha's wife's Titan not to eat Bertholdt but instead go for his mother, therefore he killed his own mother for the plot's sake. I only imagine how painful for Eren to do this.
It`s not given. Dina's Titan ignores Bertolt due to the unconscious influence of Eren's Founding Titan power. This power, which affects Titans with royal blood, directs Dina's Titan towards actions aligned with Eren's subconscious desires and safety, even though Eren is not actively controlling her. This scene is a significant plot device that foreshadows Eren’s abilities and contributes to the story's progression.
When Reiner was strangling Annie and Bertolt was crying and saying "just stop already" reminded me of Eren and Armin fighting with Mikasa crying for them to just stop
It's still crazy to think that the ones who attacked that day was just a bunch of scared and confused children. That idea didn't really sink in for me until this episode, kind of sad when you think about it 😔
Seeing that Eren saved Bertholdt because it wasn't his time yet is crazy...
Why tho... Why did eren save bertholdt? Why did bertholdt had to live?
@@Ezekiel_unabor eren killed his mom by redirecting the smiling titan to his house
@@Ezekiel_unaborIn order for everything to play out the way it did, to ensure Armin and Mikasa lived long lives. But he doesn’t know that himself in the final chapter because of the founding’s powers messing with his brain.
If Bertolt was eaten, it’s likely the colossal would just be lost and no one would be able to find it as Dina would get eaten when she’s passed out followed by the others that eat her getting eaten when they become human again.
Reiner and Annie, could’ve done one of two thing. Return home with a totally failed mission losing both Jaw and Colossal, or continue the mission. I think with Bert’s death, it’s likely Annie would kill Reiner if he didn’t want to go and then go back on her own and say everyone died.
Whether, Reiner and Annie both go back to Marley or just Annie, the Marley military command would be more or less pissed. They would still be able to know that the King of the Walls didn’t react to Wall Maria being breached after Reiner and Annie tell them, which would allow them to comfortably plan and launch a full scale invasion of Paradis island with no worries about retaliation from the King. This basically means that Eren, Mikasa and Armin are likely to die.
Anyway, that’s my version of events if Bertolt got eaten.
@@Ezekiel_unaboreren figured out that was the only way for his friends to survive, if everything else unfolded as it did in the series. Armin needed to inherit the colossal titan too at the right time. Or he wouldn’t have been able to go to the paths and get Zee to convive everyone to help.

The darkest plot twist
Fun fact: In the manga Shadis didn't ask Reiner anything. He just looked at him, same as Annie, Ymir, Bertholdt, Eren, Mikasa and Armin.
The whole point of the questioning is to see if the recruite have the courage, and will to leave behind their past lives and safety of the walls, to fight Titans. These 7 people had already went through enough trauma, that Keith felt no need to question them.
1:28 For some reason, Kid Reiner inside Armored Titan looks Painful.
It’s painful knowing that a 15 meter armored monster was actually a 12 year old boy
Being a a colossal titan is op but after using it its so scary to jump down the colossal titan because its high
The cooldown to use the Colossus again is also incredibly long. Like 2+ days between each transformation.
I love how the colossal titan didnt act like a nuke during this instance. That is never explained and I think is the biggest plot hole. Aside from plot armor anyway, i still wanna know how Armin lived being burned to death then falling from the Colossal Titan's face all the way down into a building lol.
Still love this anime though
Literal plot armor is the only reason I can come up with. That and the cliche response of "it just wasn't his time yet". If he was just a normal background npc, and not a part of the main cast, I guarantee you the fall alone would've instantly put him out of his misery after getting incinerated. I don't even think anyone, real or anime could survive those 4th degree burns plus a fall like that.

One more proof that Annie was the least commited to killing people of Paradis, she just wanted to go home and experience fatherly love for the first time before being eaten alive by another warrior, after Trost we can see how she cannot kill her friends. If she wanted to, she could've killed Armin, Jean, even Mikasa. Instead, she's just trying to scape and get people (who she doesn't have any bonds with) out of her way
Lol did u forget the hole first season?? She literally killing for fun for example that guy who turned into a yo yo in her hand ..and levi squad..and a lot
@@mohamedbel657 She used the yo yo guy as a warning, so the others wouldn't approach her. About Levi squad, they could actually kill her. So she was fighting for her life back then. Plus, none of these soldiers were her friends or even people she knew. After Trost and the trauma of the deaths of the ones who trained alongside with her, especially the death of a gentle and righteous friend as Marco, we can see she's not capable to kill any of the people that were closer to her. She could, she had opportunities to do so, it'd make her mission way easier. But she spared them

He can actually control how big the detonation is
Bertholt is a TRAINED warrior so he can control whether he wants to explode or not and how big the explosion should be
